Well, the pool was great. However, the house and location was not. The host was somewhat rude after our stay. The house is very old had lights that did not work, hot rooms at night, a driveway that was so torn up. It seemed dangerous and very old in general. The host offered recommendations before our trip, which was nice.

Unfortunately, Your review was a based on a blatant disregard of our house rules that you agreed to. You had more people staying at our home than you booked and paid for. You never communicated with us during or after your entire stay. Directions for the new Kitchenaide dish washer are located in the welcome book on the table, and we would have replaced light bulbs if you told us during your stay. The “Driveway” was not the issue- it’s the road from the heavy storms. The township is working to restore people’s electricity for safety. That is their first priority. Not a small side road with 1 home on it.

Accommodating for a large group and had a great layout. We were greeted at arrival with a cute s’mores basket all the kids enjoyed making in the fire pit. The sunroom overlooking the pool was perfect for rainy evenings. The location was perfect for us to easily access multiple nearby activities. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay!!

They have almost every thing you could want to use for the property, lake and pool. Communication by owners was prompt and helpful. This was our second stay and will be returning!

Perfect for us, our son and his family including three grand kids under 7. House has tons of room and Kris has created a fun beach/vacation vibe with her decor. Pool is outstanding and screened in porch was awesome. Excellent location with St. Joseph (20 minutes) and South Haven (25 minutes) both close by. Kris was very responsive and made our stay easy.

We loved the layout of the rooms in the house. Our daughter and young children were in the downstairs room while the adults slept in the upstairs bedrooms so noise was not an issue. Pool was great.Arrival to the house was difficult because the road/drive was so uneven and bumpy. Had to back down this road/drive becasue not enough room to turn car around.There were several things not working in the house: Trash compactor - when reported it, was told to use a trash bag in it and use like trash canWashing Machine - while it was technically working there was a sign to use at your own risk because the well water sometimes has rust in it and could ruin the clothes. We packed assuming we could use the washer but not after that warning.Sinks in master bath and half bath - could not plug to wash clothes in the sink. The lift rod was not connected to the sink stopper. When reported was told renters pull them too hard and break them.Shower in Master Bath - pulled the trigger to change water to shower head but water would not come out the shower head. When reported was told need to pull really hard. We pulled as hard as we could without breaking it.Sink in half bath drips and only the hot water worked.

Another great stay!

Truly a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Our plan was to enjoy the sun, the pool, and good eats and drink for a week and that's what we did! Love the privacy of the home, its proximity to so many different activities, and the many amenities on-site. Highly recommended!

Family fun

Our family had a great time at this home. Being close to beaches was great. Having the pool in the back yard was an added bonus. The whole family loved it especially the kids.

Ready to return

The property had everything you could want for a perfect family vacation. The pool was large enough to entertain 6 kids and 4 adults with the additional outside space to cook out and sit around the fire. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. Proximity to beaches and local shopping/farmers markets was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and we are ready to return!

Family fun

Our stay was extremely comfortable, with plenty of room for all ages. We spent most of our time poolside and on property. We had to make an effort to go to the lake, which is also easily accessible. The amount of stairs could pose a problem for anyone with mobility issues or small children. Overall, we would be happy to return for another visit!

Great family property

Property was as described. Pool was a hit with everyone. Kitchen could use a couple good skillets. Kitchen was well equipped with appliances and dishes. We will come again!

Above and beyond

There are so many things about Krikit’s Retreat to love. The house, pool, fire pit area, the location (private, but close to everything in town & Silver Beach), amenities and host all vastly exceeded our expectations. All the little details made us really feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived! Kris was so responsive and helpful. I will 100% bring my family and friends back again!

So very relaxing!

Our group of 7 girl friends enjoyed a week at Krikits Treat. We were blessed to have perfect weather so we could take advantage of the beautiful pool and surroundings every day, and the sun room overlooking the pool in the evenings. The home was very clean, kitchen is well stocked and the sleeping arrangements were perfect for us. Location is definitely secluded, which was perfect for our group, but close enough to a couple of coast towns to make a quick trip to the beach and shopping. Potential guests need to take note that the home is a quad level as indicated in the description if stairs are a concern.

Great location, practically between St Joseph and South Haven

Where do I start? First Kris was amazing to communicate with, we really didn't have any major issues just a couple of questions and she was so quick to answer and very polite as well. Upon our arrival she had the multicolored lights and music on in the sunroom, a bowl with treats for the grandchildren, which they loved. Second, the photos online DO NOT do it justice. We were amazed at how much better the house and pool looked in person (not that it didn't look good online). The house and pool both were extremely clean. For our 3 children and their families Christmas, we take them on a summer vacation every year. This year they told me that I exceeded their expectations with Krikits Treat. We spent 90% of our time at the house swimming and just enjoying each other's company. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 8 grandchildren. The kitchen was fully stocked, which made it easy to cook our meals. The beds were comfortable and very clean. Not one person complained about the beds being uncomfortable (usually at least one person does). The TV is very limited cable but she has fire sticks in the rooms that don't have smart TV's to watch Netflix, Hulu and such. But to be honest, my husband was the only one that watched TV ( he is not a swimmer) beside maybe one movie at night for the children. Besides the swimming pool area the back yard has a fire pit where we enjoyed a few fires and enjoyed the shade in the hammock in the afternoon. We have vacationed in Michigan several times but this has by far been the most relaxing. We all agreed that we will definitely go back to Krickits Treat sometime soon.

We had a wonderful stay here. Pool was amazing and Kris was very good with communication. Home is a little dated but who hangs around inside when you have such a wonderful outdoors to enjoy! There are many stairs in the home and the main bedroom shower felt a little scary getting in and out of so if you have mobility issues that should factor in, but this was a perfect getaway for our family including the kiddos. Plenty of room for all of us.

Yes, yes,yes!

This place was fantastic for my family! Besides myself, 4 of my adult children and spouses and 3 grandchildren also came. We all had plenty of room which the place had plenty of space. Clean! Lots of things to do....games, books and such. The pool was enjoyed by all! Time spent in yard with fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed this place! Also near great beaches and shops! We hope to come again!!,,

Great getaway!

We were very happy with the property and amenities! The spaciousness allowed the teenagers/young adults to hang out downstairs with plenty of space for the adults as well. The screened in patio was our favorite morning coffee spot and the pool was wonderful as well. Great property!

Family Vscstion

Perfect get a way for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for cooking. The pool and all the toys etc. was so enjoyable. All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Except for the fact that there are many stairs and difficult for me to get up and down (knee surgery in a few days) I would rent this home again in a minute. The owner responded quickly with any question we had. Perfect location for beaches, golf and restaurants.

When we had kids of our own we felt the need to buy a home and to own part of the sheer bliss that the Lake Michigan area has to offer. We love how secluded the home is! It is nestled behind some trees and perched on top of a hill. It is the perfect place for families to come together and have fun. Our favorite feature is of course the pool. It is the main attraction and the area where fun thrives! We also love the proximity to all of the attractions that we go to! This home is a perfect addition to our family and we hope our guests get as much enjoyment from it as we do!
