Maison propriétaire Custom Log Cabin

Belle cabane en rondins - 8 couchages - 2 chambres et grande mezzanine avec 5 lits donnant sur cuisine et salon - 1 salle de bain. Grandes fenĂȘtres hautes permettent beaucoup de lumiĂšre et vue sur l'extĂ©rieur. Les ventilateurs de plafond dans toute la cabine. Cabin est situĂ© assez loin de la route pour se dĂ©tendre confortablement sur le pont et lire ou prendre le soleil et il est protĂ©gĂ© contre les forts vents qui soufflent souvent sur l'Ăźle. SituĂ© prĂšs de la ville et des restaurants, Ă  distance de marche du lac Michigan rivage. Belle endroit tranquille pour profiter de la paix et de la lenteur de la vie insulaire. Grande terrasse idĂ©ale pour les repas et l'observation des Ă©toiles - cuisine complĂšte, barbecue en plein air.

The house is beautiful and beautifully decorated! However, the drawers in the cabinets/dressers were filled with past occupants travel containers, combs, batteries; just plain JUNK! Everything was comfortable and convenient and we loved every moment of our stay. If only the TV worked, WiFi was available and we had been allowed to use the wood burning stove, it would have been perfect!

We attended the Write On literary festival a short distance away so we were busy all day and came home after the dinner hour. I think I may have used a toaster once. The cabin was cozy even as the temps. dipped into the 40s/50s at night. Loved the peace and quiet for sleep—better than living on Main St. in my city. It was a beautiful and relaxing stay.

The gone was very pretty, yet done air conditioners would've been nice in a home so big. Even central air..... the basement has tools and saws laying everywhere..... a nice property that could use a ton of work. We had a great time though. Thank you.

The best!

The perfect cabin experience on Washington Island! Great location, clean and homey, and a real getaway. We enjoyed the patio area and the interior layout was perfect for our group. Kitchen was well stocked and the store nearby had everything we needed. Thank you! PS: love the DVD collection

Washington Island Property

This was our third stay at this property. Beautiful home, clean, well-stocked and great location. Dan and Lory are very easy to communicate with and then check in, checkout, reservation process was smooth and easy.

Perfect for a fishing trip!

Property was as advertised and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of space for the 5-7 adults we had, even with one bathroom. Would happily start again!

Comfort & Renewal

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! We arrived to a clean, comfortable cabin (that would have comfortably held A LOT more than us!); stocked with essentials (beds made & ready, soap, TP, coffee filters, firewood & kindling next to the pit outside). I loved the location - away from main street hub-bub. You flexibility in allowing us to bring our puppy was SO much appreciated! Many thanks for providing an essential of a wonderful week!

Cozy cabin retreat

This cabin is the perfect place for an island vacation in the woods - clean, quiet, and convenient. We wish we could have stayed longer. Washington Island is a wonderful, hidden gem, and it is definitely worth it to visit Rock Island while you’re there.

Washington Island House

Lori and Dan's home is in a great location, private, well stocked and very comfortable. The Island has many attractions and great restaurants whether you want to get active outdoors or relax on the deck or beach. Everything is accessible by bike. The vibe is casual, relaxed and peaceful. This our our 2nd stay and we are looking forward to going again next year.

Washington Island is wonderful!

Everything was perfect
except the condition of the deck railing, property drive and back/side of the cabin. All are in disrepair and dangerous to children! We have stayed in many, many Vrbo cabins and the outside was far and away the worse we’ve encountered. The main image of the cabin doesn’t show the boat that’s been parked for 4-5 years and dangerous for kids to play around. Or the sign that says “do not enter” to the backside of the property or the master bedroom sliding door to the unusable deck that is nailed shut with plywood. We had a great time!! Had we brought our young grandchildren we would have been very very upset. This place is perfect for adults, not children.

Quiet peaceful area

Nice overall, however, outside property needs some cleaning up and deck railings need work. Having small kids we were very leary of them going near them. Inside cabin was beautiful. Well supplied in the kitchen area. We had a great experience on the island.

Holiday Weekend Get-Away

We had a fantastic long Labor Day Holiday weekend on the Island. I loved the laid-back nature of the Island. The local shops, eateries and bars all have their own wonderful unique charm. I only regret I didn't have time to visit each and every one. Dan and Lory's Home-Away-from-Home is charming and rustic and quirky and comfortable and well equipped. This is not on them but I do wish VRBO would send the check-in information more than 3 days in advance. The Cabin is picturesque, on a nice quite street, near the ferry and near the main street/shops/restaurants. Everything we wanted to do on the Island seemed to only be 8 minutes away by car. *Both coffee shops are only about a mile from the cabin - the perfect morning walk* The cabin is spacious - having more than enough space for our group of 4. There is also plenty of outdoor seating and two separate fire pits. I would happily rent here again.

Washington Island getaway.

We rented the property to attend a family reunion. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed the space and being in the countryside verses a hotel. There was a well stocked kitchen. The home was easy to find and just a short drive from the little town that had a well stocked grocery store . The owners were easy to get a hold of via the messaging each time I had a question. We had recently lost one of our sisters and it was a perfect place to be together. All 5 of us would choose to return to this cabin if we visit our cousins in the future.! Thankyou for sharing

Rustic stay to say the least

The home its self was ok. We were almost was canceled less then 2 hours before checking due to sewer back up. But that was taken care of, just couldn't check in til after 5pm. The property needs a good cleaning and updating. There is garbage everywhere outside and many projects started but not finished. The cleaning lady needs to do a better job as well. We found clothing and used toothpaste and a few other items from the previous tenants. And I would not recommend this cabin for summer use as there is non air conditioning or screen doors on the patio. It was cooler outside then inside. Overall it wasn't bad but just needs alittle attention and time. Glad we were able to stay but will read the listings and ask more questions before I rent again.

Great Place & Location

Great location for access to the main town area for restaurants, bars, shops. Also great neighborhood with friendly and helpful folks, particularly Adam and Becky Steffen next door. We will be back! One bathroom was a bit challenging with 6 of us, at times, but we managed and knew that going in.
