A pleasant stay

The house is very pleasant, the location very quiet and the view magnificent. The owner is very friendly and communication was excellent, thank you Maria. The little town of Cahersiveen, a 10 minute drive away, is lovely and has everything you need (we recommend The Fertha Bar, which has great food, and Quinlans Fish, which sells top quality fish).

Peaceful

I went and stayed at this charming cottage during the winter in the off season. The home had everything I needed and the good quality Internet allowed me to stay connected to the world when I wanted. Very peaceful setting.

Great week in County Kerry

The week we spent at Red Cliff House was everything we could have hoped. The web site photos represent the house accurately and we were very comfortable, plus, it didn't take long to get to grocery shopping at Cahersciveen or Waterville. The house is in an excellent location for travel in the area. We explored the Ring of Kerry, the Ballinskelligs Ring, the ring on the Dingle Peninsula and the Beara Ring. Our contact with the owners and their local representative was everything it should have been. We would be happy to stay there again if we go back to Kerry.

Splendid isolation and fantastic location

Very spacious house with wonderful views. Comfortable and under floor heating meant always right temperature. Liking a log fire, this never needed. Being Kerry, one needs to be prepared for all weathers. This house very well suited to sitting in for hours -days where that weather forbids going out. Recommended, and without qualification would return for future trips

The stay was very nice. The furnishings in the house are older, but in good order. The kitchen was not completely clean. The appliances in the kitchen were spotty and there were crumbs in the cupboard. The gas cooker took some getting used to if you never cook with gas. Apart from that, the cobwebs and the associated spiders were a nuisance. There are very few water glasses and spoons in the house, there could be more.

Up in the Eire

We loved our stay at the Red Cliff House! We are a family of four with 2 kids -- ages 1 and 4. The house sits in a beautiful setting. It is a short scenic ride from Cahersiveen, a town that is steeped in Irish history and culture. The house commands an epic view of the Kerry Coastline and countryside. The House Manager, Brendan, was kind, helpful and always available. We enjoyed the wamth of the turf fire on a cool June night in the living room. The kitchen was well-equipped and was spacious. The bedrooms were comfortable and so was the heated flooring in the bath. We enjoyed morning hikes and runs on the country roads near the house. The only thing that we would suggest is to offer WiFi for guests. A great stay in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. We recommend this home for a holiday in the Kingdom of Kerry.

A great week at Sea View Haven

For some of us this was their first visit to Ireland, and for the remainder, their first visit to Kerry for many years. My only regret is that we had left it so long. Maybe it was because the weather was pretty good, that we enjoyed ourselves so much, but your house certainly helped. We all loved the spaciousness of the house and garden,the proximity to the beach and the variety of things to do. Thank you for leaving some provisions in for us, but where was the case of wine ? (joke). One or two very minor issues -maybe other British guests might have wanted to watch UK TV stations, although we were quite glad to get away from them. CDs are old technology now, but I would have liked to play some of ours. Overall, this was a memorable holiday . Thank you, Roger Johnson

Excellent house in an excellent location

We stayed here with our two daughters for two weeks. We’re regular visitors to Kerry, and this house gave us a great base to do the things we love doing in the Kingdom, as well as the opportunity to explore new places and experiences. The house itself is spacious and well laid out. It was very clean and had everything required for a great stay. The large utility room Is great, especially if you’re travelling with kids, as it can be used for getting ready for/coming back from beach excursions/long walks etc. The views from the house towards Reenroe Beach are amazing and can be enjoyed on the strand-facing veranda. The ample and private garden was great for our children. They spent plenty of time running around outside. We also had the bonus of watching Irish hares visit and play in the garden. The wood burning stove provides a great atmosphere in the evening and it’s fantastic to be able to have the fire on the go, look out at the sea and enjoy a glass of wine and a book. That’s another thing - a great library of classic literature, Irish interest (cuid acu as Gaeilge), contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Great added bonus if you enjoy reading. All in, we had a superb holiday here despite the weather being changeable at times, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Large house with sea view

We did manage to have a lovely time here, and thoroughly enjoyed the changing sky and sea views. We were visited by a beautiful Irish Mountain Hare, loved listening to the birds, and saw some amazing starry nights. We were well situated to explore the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Skellig. The owner, who does not live locally, was very welcoming by email and sent us a detailed list of directions, house rules, suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. There was mention of an instruction book in the house, but we didn't find one. We didn't fully appreciate how isolated the house was, but we did find it, and got used to the narrow, hedgerow-lined commute. Unfortunately, the house smelled badly of insecticide when we arrived, with a competing musty odor, and appeared not to have been used in a long time. But we swept up the dead flies and aired things out as best we could. I don't know if this is standard for Ireland, as this was our first visit, but some basic supplies were not provided. There was only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom - no extras. There was almost no dish soap, so we had to add water to the tiny bit that was there. There was no laundry soap, so our plans to do laundry on the last day before heading to Wales, was thwarted. There was no soap or shampoo for the shower. These are all things that could be easily fixed to make the next visitors feel more welcome and less hassled with small details while on vacation. Also, the light switches for the outdoor lights were taped off for some unknown reason. And there were no smoke detectors, even in the kitchen. There were several empty hooks on the walls, where there may have been a picture in the past. Thankfully, the beds were comfortable. This house has a lot of potential and with a few minor touchups could be amazing.

We are delighted Shirley that you enjoyed your first trip to Ireland and enjoyed the sea views along with the night time stars. Thank you too for your feedback and here are a few clarifications and updates. The book is usually kept on the shelves but not to worry you got everything included in the detailed email instructions and map to the house. We don't use insecticides and we apologise if the house was slightly musty - the last guests stayed in early January after which the house was thoroughly cleaned. We did have the heating on before your arrival to air the house. Apologies too for the washing up liquid not refilled fully and we will ensure that is sorted. We do not supply laundry power - usually people buy what they need at the shop. As far as we know it is not standard for rentals to provide soap or shampoo for the shower and we found guests prefer to use their own but we do understand how some guests may feel it is more welcoming. In the bank of six switches in the hall there are redundant switches (including for a yard light not working which is being replaced) which are taped over as they were confusing guests. The switch for the outside soffit lights is not taped over. There are smoke alarms in the downstairs entrance hall and upstairs landing. As an extra precaution, we are also installing heat detectors in the kitchen and sitting room. And as for the wall hooks - these are new! We haven't got the pictures yet. We had an excellent holiday in Maria's house. The house is very well situated on the Ring of Kerry. It is spacious and very well equipped. Maria is also a very helpful host who is available to answer any questions. We highly recommend it!

Amazing Property

Just Wow.!!!! We just spent a week at this property and it was simply amazing, our biggest regret is that we did not actually spend enough time in the property itself because there is just so much to do in Ireland and a week is no where near enough time. the host was amazing despite the fact we never met them in person, but they were beyond helpful, answering questions, giving directions and even pointing out things to do in the area. The house itself is simply fantastic, if you are looking for amenities it has everything you can imagine including satellite television, and WIFI which is an absolute must. Views are spectacular, it is remote enough for privacy but still close enough to everything. We just find it impossible to find anything negative to say about it. We would love to stay again when we have more time, and highly reccomend for everyone. Bryan & Shelley

Beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Remote , but that is exactly what I wanted. Property is in excellent condition, clean and stocked. We were a group of family ages ranging from 40 to 90 and no one complained.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Put simply we fell in love with Sea View Haven because of it's amazing views and quiet location. This makes it unique from any other house in the area. From the living room, the patio and veranda you can see mountains, sea/beach along with forestry and fields. This view of nature is simply wonderful and we think it is the best view in the area!

The other unique aspect to Sea View Haven is the privacy. It has its own private road access and secluded garden. So that means no busy roads close to the entrance - making it safe for children to play outside the house. Peace and relaxation in abundance..... :-) Enjoy Sea View Haven.
