Firepit: no garbage in fire pit. wood only or charcoal. Use beach chairs or patio chairs. Return to proper area.
Garbage: cans in front of house. Place by road on Monday evening for early Tuesday pick-up. Recyclables: glass, paper, cans, boxes (break-down).

This property was perfect for our mini family vacation. The house itself is lovely with comfy beds, plenty of communal space, a large kitchen, a deck with a grill and dining table, and a charming sunroom. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach, New Buffalo, and Warren Dunes, and we’d happily stay here again.

Very clean cozy property. Very well stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, etc. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. One block from beach. Lots of beach chairs and beach towels on the property. We used the gas grill no problem. There is a loft with two twin beds and a pull-out sofa bed in addition to two bedrooms downstairs. Three full baths. Everything in working order, clean, bright. Zero complaints 10/10 would stay again.

The house was bright, cozy, and comfortable, as described and beautifully decorated. The furniture arrangement was perfect for our group of six. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was great that each bedroom had its own, updated bathroom. The location is perfect—so near the lake and “downtown” Union Pier. We couldn’t have asked for more. A real find!

Perfect place for a girls’ weekend! Location is perfect for morning walks to the coffee shop, or to watch the sunset on the beach. Everything that we needed for a quick weekend getaway was included. Highly recommend.

Spring Getaway

Close to the beach and some of the shops of Union pier! Can’t beat the location and space this home provided for our short stay. The home is decorated nicely in each room. We can’t wait to visit again.

Great spot

We have been coming to Union Pier for the last ten years and this is one of my favorite properties we have stayed in. Great location, great layout and it has a very homey feel. A lot of properties you stay in feel generic or sterile but this feels like a place you actually want to stay and come back to. The beach is just down the road and the yard is terrific too. Top notch!

I bought the house in 2009. I renovated the kitchen, guest bathroom, added an outdoor deck and made other improvements in 2013-16. In 2022, I added a dormer for more living space, bedroom and a third full bathroom. I cherish MI ReTreat, but am not able to use it as often as I'd like since I moved from Chicago to Nashville. I enjoy sharing it with family and friends.

I looked for two years before buying MI Retreat. I loved the open floor plan, skylights, fireplace and creating a colorful/relaxing space.

Abundant natural light. Screened-in porch. Outdoor deck. Modern kitchen. All the comforts of home. Colorful artwork. Wood burning fireplace. You can walk one way down street to beach, and the other way to the town of Union Pier. The place is unique and unlike most rentals. Furnished not like a rental property, but like a real home! MI Retreat is Your Retreat.
