Bienvenue à Casa La Huerta! Cette authentique maison en pisé de style nord du Nouveau-Mexique accueille des clients dans le quartier résidentiel de Rio Grande, dans la vallée du nord d'Albuquerque. Overall the property is the best we have ever stayed in. The comforts are many to remark on like the beds, and older but absolutely high quality and appropriate furniture. The fully equipped and well-appointed kitchen has a dishwasher which surprised me as the house itself dates back a ways. The warmed tile underfoot in the bathroom was a delightful surprise, and something we would like in our own home. Other small touches, like slippers and robes were very nice. A really good grill on the patio , which we put to good use, made our stay very ,very fun and nice. And the neighborhood was so quiet the whole 6 days we were there, it was very relaxing. We had the opportunity to pick apricots for our breakfast in the orchard, and there are many beautiful fruit trees full of promising tasty apples, pears and other fruit coming on. Then there are the grounds, and the surrounding gardens, with a wall fence, which gave us the ultimate privacy and calm. All in all the house is beautifully and tastefully decorated in the old New Mexico style and colors , We can't wait to go back.

Relaxing Oasis in the City

This little house was so beautiful and charming, with loads of personality and a strong sense of place here in New Mexico. We found the house to be so comfortable and cheerful - even a rainy day was bright due to the skylights and many windows. The house had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, a work desk, and full-sized laundry. Everything was very clean, the water pressure was excellent in the shower, and the beds were very comfortable. The piece de resistance of the house is the garden. Boy oh boy, we spent a lot of our time just sitting in the chairs on the back patio, sipping iced beverages, and watching the bees dancing from flower to flower. At night the garden turns mysterious and alluring, and is the perfect way to ease down, relax, and cap off a day of hiking or museum hopping. The neighborhood is great and there is a wonderful cafe (Flying Star) a short walk away with a fantastic bookstore (Bookworks) right next door. The house was very convenient to I-40 and the airport and a short jaunt to Old Town. We would definitely come and stay here again in this beautiful slice of New Mexico.

New Mexico Fun

This historic adobe home was so comfortable, close to Old Town and great restaurants. Biked a trail nearby with access not far from the house.The host was helpful on arrival showing us the home and providing information on the activities we were interested in.The outdoor patio was nice to come back to at the end of our days exploring. Definitely a great place to stay!

Michael is the perfect host. Responsive, informative, enjoyable. What an awesome place Casa La Huerta is !. The weather was super windy and colder than we had hoped, so we didn't get to sit outside as much as we had hoped, but it just made us appreciate it even more when we got perfect weather the day before we had to leave. Inside, everything was perfect, very clean, great towels and sheets, even provided plush blankets, and everything you could wish for in the kitchen. We will be back as often as we can to see the awesome landscaping in the Spring and early summer. The photos are great, but they don't even come close to showing how delightful everything is at The Orchard House. (yes, they have an Orchard that was in full bloom).

Fabulous 2 BR house with sleep sofa. Beautiful garden and great nieghborhod. Host was great at commiunication and maiking sure we were all settled in.

Cozy, Clean, and Quiet - A Perfect Getaway!

Casa La Huerta was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how clean and well-maintained the property was. The cozy interiors made it feel like a true home away from home, and the quiet surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway.The hosts thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, from the well-equipped kitchen to the small touches that made us feel welcome. The location was ideal—close enough to explore the local attractions but tucked away in a peaceful spot.We can't wait to return!

Dear Sarah, I was unable to accommodate your last-minute request for a "no contact" stay without any in-person check-in. I did provide you with remote access to the property due to your late arrival, and we checked you in the next day. The in-person check-in process is in our listing and in the welcome email sent after booking. Meeting our guests at check-in takes only a few minutes and allows us to orient the guest on the property features and amenities (wi-fi, heating, air conditioning, cable TV, gas stove, etc.). Equally important, it allows us to answer guest questions and to provide suggestions when needed on local sights, restaurants, etc. so that our guests get the most out of their stay. Responding to host communications and making timely payments always helps to build confidence and prevents confusion and misunderstandings. Our Sealy Posturepedic beds are medium firm. Sorry to hear that you did not find them to be comfortable. Kind regards, Michael

Our stay at Casa La Huerta - The Orchard House was absolutely delightful! This historic adobe home exceeded our expectations in every way, making it the perfect spot for our family of four to unwind and explore the beauty of New Mexico. The house itself is spacious, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with all the modern conveniences you could ask for. From a well-stocked kitchen with all the necessary utensils to a reliable washer and dryer and fast internet, everything was available to make our stay comfortable. The historic charm of the adobe walls blended seamlessly with the cozy interiors, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of the property is the small orchard surrounding the home, bearing a variety of fruits like peach, apricot, and others local to New Mexico. Walking through the orchard each morning was a serene experience, and it added a unique charm to our stay. Michael, the owner, truly made this trip special. He personally greeted us upon arrival, gave us a thorough tour of the property, and shared invaluable local knowledge. His insights helped us discover hidden gems in the area and added a personal touch to our vacation. His warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Casa La Huerta's location is ideal for exploring New Mexico's diverse attractions, and at the end of each day, it was a joy to return to such a peaceful and comfortable retreat. Very special place

This is not your average VRBO. It is immaculate, stylish, spacious and comfortable! The property is large with a fantastic courtyard. There are security gates and it feels like a very private, secluded space. The decor is definitely New Mexico! Michael, the host, was helpful but not intrusive. We loved this stop! Not one complaint. Thank you for sharing!

At its heart is Old Town, just minutes from Casa La Huerta, the site where the original city was founded in 1706. Cobblestone streets and adobe walls characterize this neighborhood where Native American and Spanish cultures still mingle. You'll also find a certain level of kitsch, deposited from the hey-day of US Route 66 that runs through the heart of town. The downtown area's décor consists of neon signs and funky souvenir shops. Head farther out and you'll find expansive homes and lush vineyards in the North Valley, where Casa La Huerta is located, and Cottonwood Heights.

Albuquerque stays true to its roots. Hispanic flavors can be found in many of the city's restaurants (prepare for the ear-popping heat of New Mexico's favorite ingredient, the chile pepper). Native American arts and crafts adorn many a gallery window. But despite its old age—the city celebrated its 300th birthday in 2006—Albuquerque is nothing short of cosmopolitan, boasting funky boutiques, top-notch performance venues and exciting nightlife. To top it all off, the city's proximity to the stunning Sandia Mountains makes it a great home base for Southwest discovery.
