Amazing peaceful villa

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa in Tuscany. The terrace and pool are particularly amazing features. Excellent communication before hand about the property and check in and the lovely and extremely helpful Davide was available during the stay.

Wonderful villa near Monteclino

We had a wonderful stay here. The house was very clean, secluded and comfortable amenities. The views were spectacular. I wish we had stayed longer. It was exactly what we were looking for and we hope to go back some day.

Short but lovely stay

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the villa with another couple. Had a wonderful stay. Villa was clean and spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Our favorite spot was the terrace, enjoyed and appreciated the quiet.

Beautiful amazing place in Tuscany

This villa is quiet, clean, rustic, and perfect. My spouse and I loved the remote location and the working vineyard. We were given all the information we needed during our stay. When we return to Italy, we will try to stay at this villa again.

We have enjoyed our stay at La Fuga. The place is well located, very charming and confortable. Super Place in the Countryside

Perfectly relaxing stay in Tuscany near Montalcino. Accommodations superb! Try the Chef Francesco for an in home cooking dinner lesson, or just to prepare a meal. He’s super friendly and jovial, a joy to be with.

Better than imaginable

When we left last Saturday, we said, “Arrivederci Tenuta La Fuga, thank you for the memories”. And memories there shall be: Glorious mornings with sweeping views enjoyed from one of the terraces; reading and relaxing in the living room with excellent wifi; luxuriating around the pool, with an occasional dip; walking around the vineyards; learning about the Tenuta’s wine-making operation during Davide’s tour of the wine cellar found under the house; comfy beds and lots of hot water in the showers. All said it was more than we had imagined and hoped for when we booked more than a year ago. This property is a must-stay for anyone with fantasies of living in luxury in the Tuscan countryside,

Absolute heaven!

Tenuta Folonari was the perfect place to enjoy a quiet reprieve after a busy few days in Florence. The villa is spotless and fully equipped, the location conveniently situated between a few charming small towns so you have a number of options for day trips. Just my husband and I stayed there, but it would be well suited for a family or two couples. We would absolutely recommend it to friends and family! We'd love to come back in warmer months so we can use the pool!

Peaceful respite with beautiful views!

This was a lovely villa located about 15 mins out of Montalcino and was simply lovely! Clean, quiet and well appointed with everything you could need for a home away from home. The kitchen is well equipped, couches were comfortable and the view outside and from every window was amazing. David and Angela were responsive and very nice to deal with. We definitely would stay here again and bring friends. Grazie!

Holidays on a beautiful country estate

We really enjoyed the week on la fuga. Check-in and check-out were very uncomplicated. Davide very nice and accommodating. Absolutely Stunning

Davide was an incredible host. He was very responsive and helpful. The property is absolutely stunning, and the area is beautiful. The pool was very chilly, but it was clean and was surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. We had a personal chef for the night; it was the best experience we had in our ten days in Italy! The beds were comfortable and the villa was updated, but still quaint. We would definitely return.

Spectacular!

A marvellous two weeks deep in the heart of the Brunello countryside. As others have mentioned, Davide the estate manger was a courteous, responsive and compassionate individual. He went out of his way to resolve an early logistical issue. Living in a farmhouse above an active winery/wine cellar was definitely funky All in all a great vacation!

Spectacular

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The Villa, the vineyard, Montalcino, the Tuscan Hills…all breathtaking. The pictures do not do it justice. We would sit and stare at the surrounding beauty. David was a great host and very helpful and showed us the cellar, which was very interesting. We did a wine tasting at Tenuta di Nozzole in Greve and Ilaria, our host, was so lovely and informative. Angela made our check in go so smoothly. Just a magical trip for us all. Highly recommended. Loved it.

It was a pleasure to host such wonderful guests, four very kind and respectful persons who enjoyed their stay and their visits to our cellars including Nozzole. We thank them for their appreciation and we agree with Kristi in regards to the pictures, but it is almost impossible to capture the immense beauty of the place. It needs to be experienced: smell, air, and sound are impossible to capture, we could make a video but we think it is also beautiful to be surprised and that we can guarantee.

Wonderful Tuscan experience

Accomodation was expectional - only problem was we were only notified a couple days before arriving that the pool was out of order which was one of the reasons we chose the property. The onsite manager, David, was outstanding! The property was beautiful, spacious, very clean, had everything you need, well kept & safe. The listing was a little deceiving as it shows photos of a restaurant & tasting room however its 2hrs from the property. Otherwise it was almost perfect!

We are glad Mishonna had a wonderful time despite the pool being still under repairs. And we appreciate her understanding since there is nothing we can do about bad weather (this year we have had two months of constant rain and cold) so that the works could have not carried out as expected. She was advised only a couple of days ahead of her arrival as we all were expecting the pool to be ready before the week end. But complications also arised. In regards to the pictures of the wine tasting room it is written on the website that this is Nozzole, our main cellar and wine tasting room. We further inform our guests about it with our informative mail we send a couple of weeks before arrival saying that at Tenuta La Fuga you may taste wine and see the cellar with Davide, our manager of the cellar, but there is no public organised wine tasting and that it is possible to arrange a visit and proper wine tasting at Nozzole near Greve in Chianti for which we provide the email address to reserve the visit. This is also reported on the listing. We inform the drive is a couple of hours away, but it is worth driving as one may take advantage of seeing the florentine province too. We also always ask to read carefully our information as they are complete. Unfortunately this is not always the case and when this happens we are very disappointed to read misleading information. We hope Mishonna will be able to come over again as she was a great guest, hopefully with a more stable weather like we are all hoping.

Perfect stay in the heart of Tuscany

My husband and myself brought my parents here as part of a 50th wedding anniversary celebration trip to Italy. I can't even describe how much this villa exceeded our hopes. It was so clean, beautiful, great layout (perfect for two couples especially), the view was spectacular and the pool was also spotless. The surrounding vines and olive groves were just perfect- sitting outside for apertivo and watching the sunset while the birds sang- you can't beat it. The surroundings were so peaceful, and again did I mention the view? We also booked a cooking class (as recommended by Angela) with Francesco and his mother-in-law- they were amazing and we all had such a great night. He went above and beyond to put together a surprise treat and gift for my parents for their anniversary, we just loved them. All in all, staying at this lovely property was one of the highlights of a perfect trip. I just got home and want to go back already. Highly recommend!

True Serenity

La Fuga is a charming farmhouse on a beautiful estate. We have already recommended it to others traveling through Italy. For a family of four it was plenty spacious and we enjoyed several dinners at the kitchen table. We arrived later in the day and were so happy to find that the wonderful caretaker, Davide, had stocked the kitchen cabinets and fridge for us so that we did not have to venture out again for dinner. Everything we needed was there. The views from the house and the deck were amazing with vineyards, olive trees, and wheat fields stretching out on all sides and no other neighbors in view. Davide gave us a tour of the wine cellar and it was impressive to see how much wine was being aged right below the farmhouse. It was about a15 minute drive into town where there were several restaurants and a descent grocery store. We hope to stay there again in the future!

Fairy Tale Villa

Oh, our week at Tenuta La Fuga went by so quickly-it rained everyday so we were disappointed that we couldn't enjoy the pool and grounds but we certainly did enjoy everything else! The place is magical! The house was very clean and was the best stocked place I have ever seen! We had bread,wine,eggs,fruit and all sorts of goodies waiting for us! The views of the olive trees and vineyards were amazing! We had the most unbelievable double rainbow one evening that was breath taking-it looked as if we could reach out and touch it! Davide was very helpful and available but otherwise you didn't know he was on the property.The beds were comfortable and the linens/towels plentiful.The washing machine was great as we traveled with only carry on luggage and counted on it.The location was perfect and oh, so peaceful!Make reservations at Locanda Demetra-a farm to table that is wonderful!I could write about this place all day but you have to experience it-just ask for some sunshine😜

It is our pleasure to have guests like Doreen and her group. they were wonderful guests. We thank her for her lovely comments and appreciation of our welcome. It is so rewarding to know that our service fulfilled their expectation and even beyond! Yes, a real shame about the weather which was unusually rainy and cold. We would love to make miracles and order some sun for the next time :) as we sincerely hope there will be a next time for Doreen so that she will be able to enjoy the pool and what more the property can offer.

Sleeping in a Brunello vinyard

It's definitely not everyday that you sleep above a Brunello cellar and beside a Brunello vineyard. This is a special property in a postcard-perfect area outside of Montalcino. Our family of 5 had a wonderful time here and enjoyed coming home to the pool and beautiful view. We also appreciated the welcome amenities in the kitchen and the opportunity to taste some of the owner's olive oil and wine. We found the bedrooms, with air-conditioning and window screens, to be comfortable and have character with wood-beamed ceilings. As set out in the description, guests should be aware that the property is in a rural area and is not really walkable to anywhere - Montalcino is about a 15 minute drive away, with some wineries being closer. Having the caretaker, Davide, available and working on the property each day gave us some piece of mind. The check-in really is during a strict two-hour window - I do not recommend attempting to arrive following an international flight.

We thank Jordan and his family for appreciating their stay and we are very happy to read such comments. Him and his family were very good guests and it was a pleasure to have them as guests. Tenuta La Fuga is in the middle of the country side and it is a real Escape! That is what Fuga means. Well ahead of our guests arrival we always inform them that Montalcino is at 15 min. drive (not a problem for many with a coop supermarket working long hours and opened even on a Sunday - we also offer the option to send us a grocery list and we can do their groceries) but it shouldn't be a problem to find it following our directions we send ahead of arrival. They are the best directions to find Tenuta La Fuga which is nevertheless well indicated with signs. We are sorry if Jordan had trouble finding the house. Our caretaker works hard at the vineyards and the cellar and he's always available for our guests, but he finishes working at 6pm, that is why check in must be by this time. We are working for allowing a longer range of time, but it is not easy to organise a self-check and leave a keybox unattended outside a gate with such a cellar inside the property. We hope to find a solution soon.

The most perfect location and property!!

We returned from Tenuta La Fuga on the 28th May after 5 amazing nights in the middle of our honeymoon tour around Italy. The only word I can use to describe the property is incredible. It was a little hard to find but only because of confusion when passing through Montalcino. We were welcomed by Davide who was wonderful in showing us round and demonstrating how everything worked and very fortunately for us had time to give us a tour of the cellars. The accommodation was stunning there were only 2 of us but easily big enough for 2 families without being on top of each other. The cleanliness of the outside areas was outstanding, cleaned daily but never invasive. The only reason i didn't give the online description 5 stars is because I actually don't think the pictures and description online do the property enough justice. It is bigger, more beautiful and more magical than we could have ever imagined. I never return to properties as we love to wander to new places, but I WILL be returning here and bringing others with me.

What a nice couple Stephanie and his husband. They choose our house to celebrate their honeymoon and we are glad they made the right choice by reading their comments! Lovely and friendly people, very respectful of the property, and the house was left very clean. We couldn't ask any better! Thanks to Stephanie for her appreciation of the house and also in regards to pictures, we will take her advice into account. Memorable stay

Even thou we would like to keep this location as our secret, the stay here was just perfection. We were given proper check in instructions and directions to the property. The memorable stay started with check-in with Davide which included tour of the cellars. FYI… this is a working winery surrounded with Sangiovese vineyards and cellars are underneath the property. We picked up some wine during check-in which was apparently not enough as we bothered Davide couple more times for more wine. Davide was very busy that week as the Merlot grapes couple steps from the property was full blown harvest mode which we got to witness. Davide still made time for us. The highlight of the stay was the cooking class with Chef Francesco. Our family could not have asked for a more perfect evening. Francesco’s charm was the icing on the cake. The property was clean, very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed including washer which came very handy. Not to mention the views which were breathtaking and better than any of the pictures we saw as the vineyards were super green and full of grapes at their peak.

Perfect Brunello Getaway

My family and I spent two weeks at this property, and we did not want to leave. The moment we walked in the door, it instantly felt like home. The pictures do not do this property justice - it is even more beautiful in person, including the house, the grounds, the views, and the overall feeling and vibe of the estate. It is a working winery, so this is a totally unique opportunity to be living among the vineyards and see the winemakers working their magic on the beautiful sangiovese vines. This is particularly perfect for a family traveling with a baby or small children - there is lots of space to spread out and run around, but it is still very contained, safe, extremely clean and very well organized. It is in a peaceful, secluded corner of the Montalcino region, only a 15 minute drive from the center of town and very close to many gorgeous wine estates. Driving around Tuscany in this area is an absolute dream, but you can also choose to happily spend your day walking the Tenuta La Fuga vineyards, relaxing by the pool, doing yoga on the terrace, picking wildflowers in the fields, gazing at the secenery, birdwatching, etc.. Overall this is a treasure of a property that I expect mny family will return to often. Thank you to Davide and the owners for a magical vacation.

Frank and his family were wonderful guests. They also had guests staying with them for a few days and all were very kind, polite, and very respectful people. We are only sorry about the unusually bad weather so the water in the swimming pool wasn't optimal. We are glad they enjoy their stay and our wine. We thank Frank for his suggestions and we only hope he'll be back hopefully with better weather to fully enjoy the pool as well.

The wine estate manager, who is also the house manager, lives in a totally independent part of the property. You will only see him if you need him for suggestions and advice about the area, or for any particular need regarding your stay at La Fuga. He will be happy to help you and show you our cellar.

We are in open country and deers, wild boars, lizards and insects live here. Although it is not so easy to encounter them please pay attention and dress accordingly especially during certain times of the year.
