Family break
Property was great, nice and clean and so secluded. Location is fantastic for the coastal path walks.
Francis was a great host.
Only thing to note for prepping your trip, no basic food products (which is completely fair enough but worth noting!)

Beautiful place
Our family loved staying in this beautiful house. The location is very good just few minutes drive to the nearest beach or a little bit longer but amazing walk through the stunning forest. The territory of the house is also beatiful. There is everything nessessary in the house. The master is very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Wonderful stay in Cornwall
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Woodgate. The house is really spacious and comfortable, with excellent views out every window. The kitchen is well equipped, and (unlike some places we've stayed) the washer and dryer are almost idiot-proof and just work. Very peaceful and quiet.
Francis was a most friendly and helpful host, making sure that everything was in place. He had a lot of suggestions for things to do and places to see (and how to avoid crowded times). He somehow also managed to lay on perfect weather: bright sun, cloudless skies, yet cool, all of which were very much appreciated.
It's a great place, and we would love to come back. Highly recommended!

Lovely traditionally-styled house about a mile from Crackington Haven
Great location in terms of feeling like we were in the country. Coastal walk was accessible by walking either up the road 600m or down the road towards Crackington Haven. There is also a nice walk through the woods to Crackington Haven. Crackington Haven is a sweet village, with a couple of cafes opposite the beach, and a pub. The beach is pebbly at high tide, but sand at low tide. There is also a sheltered "swimming pool" where the pebbles dip down a little - this is good for younger children. The property had everything we needed - two living rooms, an eating room and a kitchen. The separate rooms made the house feel really spacious, allowing separation from family members if necessary (luckily we didn't need this!). There's a nice outside area too. Plus, the wifi worked extremely well when close to it (important as I had a work meeting!). Overall, a really nice stay!

A traditional farmhouse cottage in a beautiful location
The property has lots of quaint, old charm and the open fire was particularly lovely on the cold Cornwall nights. The house is in a stunning location with surround by rolling hills and walks across national trust land. Definitely a house that we would return to.

Crackington Haven
Big old house in great location. Lots of space. All the necessary - WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. No phone signal so safe from work! Just up road from fabulous family friendly beach with RNLI life guards and great for body boarding. Host couldn’t have been more helpful. Lovely wildlife walk offered as extra. Very enjoyable stay.

Lovely family house in quiet location near to Crackington Haven beach.
I had a great holiday with my children and grandchildren. The nearby beach was perfect - it was all pebbly at high tide, but at low tide there was a huge expanse of sand with rock pools and life guards on duty. We all enjoyed leaping in the waves and attempting body boarding - even me, after hiring a wet suit from the beach cafe.
The house had a spacious kitchen and dining room and it was very useful having two sitting rooms - one of which we allocated as a children's playroom.

Great house in a beautiful position
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was perfect for a large family. It was warm, comfortable and spacious. My children loved being able to go down the footpath at the side of the house to explore the woods below. The property is in a peaceful position but well placed to explore the area. We did a (hilly) cycle to Bude and around, bodyboarded at Polzeath and walked to Crackington Haven and Strangles Beach. We would definitely stay in this property again.

Great place for exploring North Cornwall
We stayed for a week, with my Sister and her family and my Dad. The house is spacious, the two front rooms meant the kids could have a noisy room and us adults (Especially my older Dad!) could have a quiet space. Crackington Haven is a relatively short walk away, I walked back briskly in 20-30 mins along the wooded path to grab the car and pick up tired 83-yr old who decided to do the coastal walk with us. Can recommend that, although it isn't very easy going if older or unfit, especially as it was very muddy when we did it.
The woods down from the house are lovely, although again very muddy when we went I would imagine it would be great for kids in the summer playing in the stream. Another highlight near the house is The Strangles, amazing views and beach and when we were there on a lovely sunny day no one else was there. Didn't take my Dad to that one and a good job as there is a rope to help you get down and up from the beach so definitely not for anyone with mobility issues.
All in all a great holiday can recommend the house. Google maps does show a cow shed next to the house which we were concerned about. But apart from the odd loud moo and a waft of "country smell" when outside, we didn't really notice it. Francis is a good host and a useful source of local information!

Fabulous week at Woodgate
Woodgate is a lovely old house with fantastic views over the countryside. Myself, my husband, our daughter and three grandchildren aged 4,2 and 1, had a lovely week at "Woodgate".
The house is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with washer, dryer, two fridges, freezer and dishwasher etc, everything you need. The two reception rooms were really handy as the children could enjoy their DVD's or television programmes without interfering with our TV viewing.
There are four comfortable bedrooms, again with lovely views over the countryside.
Don't expect ultra modern, it isn't but with three young children we would prefer furniture that we are not afraid for them to sit/play on.
Outside there is a fabulous terrace, lovely for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Fantastic for the children to play hide and seek.
At the side of the house you can walk down to a lovely wood, the children thought it was a great adventure, we took torches for them, which they found very exciting.
Crackington Haven is just over a mile away down a very narrow lane, but there are passing places for the cars, so the narrow lanes are not a problem, over the week you get used to it and in the whole week, we only passed three cars.
We ate out at the Coombe Barton Inn, in Crackington Haven, this I can recommend and only 10 minutes or so, from the house.
Widemouth Bay is a fabulous beach, costs £5.00 to park all day and is just outside Bude, on a fantastic coastal road. In Bude you will find a Sainsburys and a Co-op to stock up on your shopping.
We had a lovely week at "Woodgate" and we were sorry to leave this lovely house.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful, peaceful surrounding
I would recommend this cottage, as it is well-equipped, clean and well cared for. The owner just couldn't do enough to make sure we had a pleasant stay and the cottage was very spacious, yet cosy. The location was perfect for amazing walks, with stunning views, especially along the cliffs. I would most definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.
