Jane was fantastic, communication great. Bed really comfy and everything as described, super clean. The shop directly underneath was open until the early hours and stocked a wide range, so handy for when you arrive! Had a great stay, thanks Jane x

Great location in Barcelona

Excellent location! Close to beach, easy walks to La Rambla and Sagrada Familia. Comfortable apartment. One caution is the bathroom is very small. Javier was great!

Barcleona near the beach

This was a nice location. We were able to walk to the beach. It is also located near shopping and the metro. Making it easy to get to other parts of Barcelona. We stayed 8 days and really enjoyed our time there. Jane and Javier were very helpful and accommodating.

Jane was very helpful and this was very inexpensive for the amount of space. The apartment was clean and it was great to have a washing machine. The air conditioning worked really well even though it was really hot and humid when we visited. But this is an old building. The stairs are very steep and narrow, there were frequently dead roaches in the hallway and even one in our flat (at least we only saw dead ones so apparently there is extermination happening). The shower gets hot and cold while you are showering. The shop down stairs is really handy and he doesn't rip you off because you are a tourist (that happens a lot and many small shops don't have prices on the merchandise) and was unfailingly nice when we stopped in which was daily. It was a good value for what we paid. You are going to have things like dodgy plumbing and the occasional roach when you are in an old building. The door was a little hard to manage (but has a really good lock on it). The bed was fairly comfortable and I'm pretty fussy due to a bad hip. I think what it comes down to is 30 year-old adventurous me would have had no issues with the place, but 59 year-old creaky me would probably want to spend more money and stay somewhere a little easier. But is really is a good value for the money. Staying in the city is very expensive. It was fairly close to a metro station, lots of cafes and the beach.

hi Karen. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. However there are a few points that I need to correct you on. Just because its a renovated old building it DOES NOT warrant cockroaches. At no moment during your stay did you make us aware you had experienced one in our apartment. If you had we would have dealt with the situation. This year due to the extreme heat that Barcelona has experience there has been a plague of cockroaches. The council have explained they are dealing with the problem by treating the drains. The situation has nothing to do with our apartment block. Also the stairs are actually wide in comparison to others in Barcelona. It is less than 30 stairs up to our floor and we have had many retired people in their 70's or 80's choose our place and they havent mentioned the stairs. To be precise the metro is a 3 min walk from the apartment. All the best to you.

We have just returned from a fantastic long weekend in Barcelona and we stayed at this wonderful apartment. Everything was exactly as described in the listing and correspondence with the owner was very quick. The apartment was spotlessly clean and has a great feeling about it. The wifi was very speedy, we managed to stream live UK TV without any issues (via a VPN). It was great to have the supermarket just next door so we didn't have to carry our shopping very far.We made good use of our Hola Barcelona travel cards and used the Metro daily from the local station, which was a short walk away, about 5-10 minutes. There was a train every 5 minutes and Plaça de Catalunya was only a few stops away.There is a fantastic restaurant just around the corner from the apartment main door, de Vega, which was open for breakfasts and for evening meals. We had some very tasty tapas there.If you're looking for a great place to stay out of the main throb of the city but close enough to all of the main attractions, then check this apartment out. We hope to return very soon!

Location super bien située.

Appartement très agréable, bien localisé, proche des commerces, de la mer et de la rambla menant au centre de Barcelone. Nous avons apprécié la décoration et l'équipement très complet. Un plus, l'accueil personnalisé par le propriétaire à l'arrivée et au retour pour l'aéroport. Juste un petit conseil, prévoir des bouchons d'oreilles pour la nuit (nous sommes en ville et à Barcelone !!!). Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Nous recommandons cette location pour visiter une super ville...

Super!

Très agréable séjour à Barcelona. Appartement conforme à la description, très bien situé, à deux pas de la mer, proche d'une station de métro qui dessert très bien et très vite le centre de la ville. Magnifique balade le long du littoral, depuis l'appartement jusqu'au pied de La Rambla. Supermarché et restaurants à proximité. Parking gratuit dans la rue, appréciable à Barcelone! Même s'il n'est pas très grand, la taille de l'appartement est suffisante pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants. Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse des propriétaires, les lits faits à l'arrivée et les contacts mails faciles avec Jane avant le séjour. Nous recommandons cette location. Merci Jane et Javier, notre semaine a été fantastique!

Très bon séjour

J'y suis allé avec mes 2 enfants . Appartement très bien situé dans le quartier PobleNou (pas trop de touristes dans ce quartier) . La décoration est soignée. La station de métro (Llacuna) se trouve à 300 m environ. La plage se trouve également à 300 mètres . Jane est très sympathique (son frère également) . Ils vous indiqueront quels endroits sont à voir et lesquels sont à éviter. Si vous venez en voiture, le stationnement dans la rue face à l'appartement est gratuit. On peut facilement y trouver des places . Seul petit bémol : Le canapé rouge dans le salon n'est pas très confortable pour y dormir (mais cela est largement suffisant après une journée chargée à Barcelone) . Autre point : L'appartement est orienté sud, il peut y faire assez chaud (mais la clim permet de rafraichir l'appartement) . Bref, on a passé une très agréable semaine . A l'année prochaine, peut être, Jane ...

Charmant appartement proche mer et métro

Ce petit appartement est non seulement parfaitement rénové et décoré, mais aussi idéalement situé, à 5 minutes de la plage et à 10 minutes du métro (ligne directe centre ville et port). Il est également proche des cafés et restaurants de la Rambla del Poblenou et il se trouve au dessus d'une petite épicerie locale, bien pratique pour acheter les produits de base, lait, sucre, etc. Les propriétaire sont absolument charmants, ils viennent vous chercher à l'aéroport si vous leur demandez et vous trouvent une place de parking gratuite si vous venez en voiture. Si vous voulez visitez Barcelone tout en vivant comme un Barcelonais, n'hésitez pas, c'est l'endroit idéal!

"Petit appartement conforme à la description reprise dans l''annonce. Pas de soucis à se faire pour les nombreuses excursions à faire pendant le séjour car la station de métro se trouve à moins de 10 minutes de l''appartement. La longue digue de mer est également très proche. Vous y trouverez de nombreux petits restaurants. Magasins à proximité. Possibilité de transport aéroport/appartement par le propriétaire qui est très sympathique et serviable."

The location is close to the beach, but not to the main attractions of Barcelona. No elevator, uncomfortable bed & couch, noisy traffic. Tiny bathroom and the shower always wants to overflow.

Hi Karen, thanks for taking the time to give a review. Guests choice our location because they would rather be in the most desired neighbourhood in Barcelona, whilst just 5 stops/ a 10 minute metro ride into the centre. Our listing states that there is no elevator. Something that you could have evalutated before deciding to reserve our space. You are the first to express that the bed and sofa are uncomfortable. If we receive other reviews stating the same then we will look into changing them. As for the shower overflowing, if you had removed your lost hair that had accumulated in the plug then you wouldn't have had this issue. At no moment during your stay did you express any concerns, if you had, you would have given us the opportunity to have made your stay more comfortable. I'm sorry that you didnt. Kind regards Jane

This apartment is in a quiet residential area. The beach is a short walk away. There is a small market next door for incidentals and a few restaurants/cafes nearby. Jane and Javier were easy to work with.

I travelled with my adult son, I slept in the bedroom and he in the sitting room. Both the beds and the bedding were pretty good. There are two flights of stairs up to the flat which are a bit narrow so if you are not good with stairs this might be a problem for you. The flat is cosy but has everything you need. Jane and Javier are great hosts - some things needed fixing so I called Jane and they were fixed immediately. The flat was very clean. The bathroom is small so if you are a tall/big person you might not be comfortable - we are both quite short so no problem. They have a small super market at the bottom of the stairs, right next to the front door which has most things and open to 2am every day! There were roadworks in the street which were quite noisy but only in the day time - so if you have trouble sleeping - take some earplugs. The air conditioner worked well and you do need it. The beach is at the end of the road and is great. Little beach cafes along the beach [quite expensive we found] good paths to walk along, showers and water clean. We enjoyed our visit.

Short break in Barcelona

We recently stayed at this property for 2 nights, my husband and two children. The apartment was ideally placed for us to reach all of the main tourist sights in Barcelona by foot. We arranged to be picked up at the airport by Javier who then showed us round the apartment, gave us some advise on good places to eat and information on transport to the Camp Nou. Most welcome were the cold beers and drinks in the fridge! Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We would not hesitate to return, ideally to see how the neighbourhood of Poblenou develops over the next couple of years!

Lovely apartment just a short walk from the beach

Very nice and clean apartment just a short walk from the beach. Worth getting picked up by the hosts as the cost seems fair and there is no Uber in Barcelona. Javier picked us up and dropped us off and was punctual and friendly and showed us around the apartment when we got there and looked after our cases after checking out. Another good point is there is a small store next door. Restaurants and bars are plentiful and there are many bus stops close by plus a pick up point for the open top bus tour of the city which is well worth the money. Would recommend.
