Lovely Home, Great Location, Memorable Stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The home was spacious and comfortable, and we especially loved how perfectly located it was. It was just a short walk to Chambers and tucked into a quaint, peaceful neighborhood. It made everything feel so easy and relaxing. The owners were very accessible and helpful, which made our stay even smoother.The home has a lot of charm. One of our favorite moments was simply sitting out on the deck with family, enjoying the fresh air and each other’s company. It’s a lovely spot that really made for a memorable trip!

The house was as described. Great location, minutes away from Tahoe City and other attractions, with plenty of room for our party of 6. If you stay here during the summer it can get very warm upstairs, but they do provide box fans and a stand up fan to cool down the rooms. The neighborhood is quiet; and overall, just a great place to stay.However, the issue we had was with the host. While they did communicate rather quickly, there was always a little bit of an attitude or rudeness to their answers. We were coming to Lake Tahoe for a wedding, so we messaged the host to ask a couple of questions: is there an iron in the house, is there bear spray in the house, extra blankets in case it gets cold, is there beach access in the neighborhood? They answered within the hour and asked us, "Do you think this is the right house for your group?", which was odd. When we checked in, we found 3 irons in the house, after they stated their weren't any. Also, one of the bathrooms was missing towels; after we messaged them and asked if there were any extra towels, they stated that towels were stocked in each bathroom, even though they were not and suggested we wash towels so everybody had some. It always felt like we were bothering them every time we asked a question. Again, we never stayed at a house like this before, we just wanted to make sure we had all our questions answered so we knew what to bring and what to expect when we got there.

Perfect for a big group

We were in town for a wedding. We stayed with another family and their adult children and spouses. Great size for a big group. Everyone had their own space. 5 bathrooms was a plus. Great location in a quiet neighborhood.

Great Home for Family Fun at the Lake

Our family just shared a wonderful week at this comfortable house. We were very pleased with the location and the size of the house. We found everything to be a great match for our needs. Our adult children with their families enjoyed the privacy of their own room and bath!!! We have already started making plans to return next summer. Highly recommended!!!! Thanks, Marissa.

Lake Tahoe Rental

Could use some updating. Looks like the 70's inside. Stairs to second floor needs hand rails on each side. The 1" x 6" board railing doesn't meet today's code. The carpet and padding on the stairs is too thick making it easy to trip on it.

Thank you for your review. The home was built in the 1970s and the handrail is built/designed up to code for that time - the same requirement of all homes. The downstairs of the home was upgraded in the Summer of 2013. All new flooring, paint, furniture and updated appliances. For more information, please see our Photos. Update: As of Spring 2017, all carpeting as been removed and hardwood installed. We look forward to hosting your next Tahoe stay!

Post Christmas Family Fun

The property was beautiful and spacious. There were 9 of us and our dogs. We enjoyed having our own bathroom. We did have a little trouble with the oven, but the owners quickly responded and saved the day (or at least our dinner!) The upstairs loft went unutilized, but next time we come, I think I'll bring a folding table so we can work on our annual puzzle there. Perfect location for skiing at Palisades and walking the Lake Tahoe trail (we even made it as far as the Gnome trail) . Plenty of parking (we had 4 vehicles), but you will need chains/4wd if it's snowy/icy. No garage access. Bring your own firewood.

A wonderful stay

I hosted a girls trip, and it was a hit! The house is huge. It's not super updated, but you can tell it was state of the art when it was built. We stayed in June but the heated bathrooms would've been awesome for a winter vacation. The house is right around the corner from a cool restaurant and little public beach. We saw a bear every day we were there. There is a resident "teenager" bear that we were told is very interested in food but was harmless, so keep your wits about you regardless of where you end up in Tahoe. The house itself is spacious and has a huge patio. Maybe the best feature was how many bathrooms are in the house. Three of the bedrooms had private bathrooms so the two others weren't private but hardly had to be shared with anyone else. The only issue we had was that the stove/oven stopped working, but we just used the grill instead so it wasn't a big deal. Highly recommend staying here!

Wedding in Lake Tahoe

This cabin was so comfortable! There were 10 family members gathering to celebrate our nephew's wedding and we all had space to escape to nap, to read, or to use our cell phones. The large deck and great room were perfect for reminiscing about the past and future.

Destination Lake Tahoe

Last weekend, our family enjoyed a Destination Wedding event in the Homewood area. The property turned out to be a perfect location for hiking, sight seeing, and picnicking. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, it is very spacious and comfortable. The outside deck is surrounded by beautiful pines with Lake Tahoe just beyond the tree line. Another added plus was the paved driveway that was able to accommodate all of the vehicles for our guests. The wall of windows in the home allows natural light to shine through in every room. There are two living spaces for groups to gather to watch TV, play board or card games, or just to hang out. Our group saw three bears during our stay, one black bear circled the property so now we understand the need for the bear deterrence, but we enjoyed watching him from the inside of the home. Lake Tahoe is absolutely gorgeous and this property is just a short walk to the shore of Chambers Landing.

Ideal location. If snowing: you're on your own.

The property is ideally located for visiting Lake Tahoe region, spend a day or two skiing/snowboarding at Homewood resort nearby. The only few negative point of this property is that the driveway is uphill. We have rented multiple vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe in similar weather conditions and have always received great help from the hosts who would generally shovel snow off the driveway prior to us arriving. It wasn't the case this time: spending 2h - 3h shoveling snow/ice off the driveway wasn't necessarily in our plans for the evening of our arrival, in 35F temperatures. In addition: there was no body wash/soap in any of the bathrooms. I believe I have never seen this in any vacation rental property, ever. Again, not great especially in a town where most stores close at 6pm during Winter.

Beautiful home

We saw 5 bears the first night and we were extremely thrilled. Sad we didn't see anymore the rest of the nights. The outdoor views were beautiful. The home was very accommodating. We loved staying there. Great memories were made.

Stay was just OK

Parts of the house are in disrepair. It looked like the floors had not been mopped in months. Some bathrooms smelled moldy and bathroom rugs looked old and need replacement. Kitchen cabinets also needed to be repaired and cleaned. The patio screen door is broken and comes off the tracks. Otherwise the place served our purpose for this trip.
