We had a wonderful time with our large family celebrating Thanksgiving. We enjoyed several local activities such a a winery, hiking, and the safari. The adults loved interacting with the animals as much as the kids. Plenty to do in the cold weather for a long weekend stay.
nice place. we had a good time. The only drawback was that I was told by the owner it was only a 30 minute ride to Clemson Football Stadium when it was a 45-50 minute ride. This was farther than I wanted to stay.
Overall: Spacious, well-equipped but dated and worn. Interior needs repainting; water damage above ceiling outside master. Garage opener was appreciated during rainy week. At this price point, we expected more. Decor can easily be updated by trip to TJ Maxx.Outdoors: Large covered/uncovered deck. Patio furniture (uncovered) is rusted and mismatched replacement cushions. Wrought iron needs repainting; 1 rocker had mold. Grill was dirty. Gas fireplace didnât work. Dock was great, upper level had nice loungers; lower dock needs seats for elders. Fire pit had rusted chairs and sad cushions.House: TVs in master and main family room. 1 upstairs room had monitor Firestick. Basement had no TV despite listing photos, disappointing for young adults during a rainy week.Cleanliness: Patio lights covered in old webs. See pics.Layout: Main level: 2 full baths (master guest). Upstairs: 2 beds share hall bath. Basement: 2 beds share hall bath. No dressers-just flimsy bedside stands, though closet space was ample.Kitchen: Fully stocked with cookware, dishes, appliances. Linens: Plenty of blankets, beach and bath towels.Stop-bys: Someone parked outside briefly maybe did something in yard without notice. Owners did a weird boat drive-by. Didn't realize it was them until revisited VRBO listing. 3 family photos displayed; better left out of guest rentals. Past reviews seem unusually generous possibly written by friends & family. Returning 7 years doubtful unless rate discounted.
We had a great stay! Plenty of room! Well stocked kitchen with lots of dishes and utensils! Plenty of towels and blankets! Plenty of parking! Very clean!
Our family of 15 with six grand children ranging from the age of 2 to 7 had a wonderful time at Tugalo Heights. The house was beautiful with enough space for all. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor space. We also enjoyed the lake view and the dock was easily accessible and very nice. It was very helpful that one our daughters could bring her service dog with her too. Thank you Judi and Jack for being so responsive to any questions. We enjoyed making special memories with all our 4 adult children and their families at your lovely lake house. We will certainly share with others about your beautiful home.
The property is wonderful! Great location (on Reed Creek, close to 85, close to the Hartwell marina) There is a Short, easy walk to the dock, and circular driveway for easy parking and unloading and peach trees everywhere. The layout of the house is perfect with four king beds. There are plenty of linens and kitchenware-although it lacks organization. (It was almost as someone threw the pots and pans and prayed the cabinet doors would shut. I wouldnât normally complain but every cabinet and closet were like this.) I would suggest blinds in the kitchen and baths, and new curtains and rods elsewhere (They are very cheap and poorly installed.) Overall the furniture and all of the cushions could be updated. The outside areas need a deep cleaning- cobwebs are everywhere, the storage areas are gross with mold and old floats, etc; outside lighting is poor or nonexistent ( I changed what lightbulbs I could) The deck gate is broken and most of the railings on the front porch are loose and the dock and decks have rotten wood). Donât get me wrong- we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again-obviously the house is well rented- it just needs a deep cleaning and to be refreshed!
Our family of 14 ranging in ages truly enjoyed our stay at this very clean, modern home. The house is very spacious, especially the rooms. Small things go a long way with a large group. There were plenty of towels (including beach towels), starting laundry detergent etc., the kitchen is well equipped with lots of pantry space. The porch is large and relaxing, with a fan to help with the heat. The dock is also nice with the patio chairs at the top. Would recommend to any large group. Communication with owners was excellent, and they are very pet-friendly which is a nice bonus!
This is our seventh year staying at this property. The property owners are fantastic to work with and the property is always clean. The house has a great dock perfect if you have boat or just want to lay in the sun. The house is large and well suited to accommodate a large group.
Our stay by included 14 people coming from New Jersey for my daughterâs wedding. The house was well laid out. The ground level living space was perfect for all the kids (eight of them ages 16 -25), giving them separate space from the older adults. The master bedroom and bathroom were a wonderful size. The outdoor space is perfect, being the end of January we didnât utilize it much but in the warmer weather we would have been out there all the time. The home was well stocked with bath towels, kitchen towel, plates, cups and silverware for the large group we had. The house made for the perfect getaway.
We had our 12th annual sibling reunion there and we all loved the home. Jack and Judi were super helpful. It was a very relaxing trip for all of us. Thank you for opening up your home to us
There are so many great points about this property I donât know where to begin!! The house was fabulous! It had plenty of room! We had ten adults and four kids and everyone had room to move around. The back patio and deck was great for just we and eating! Everyone really enjoyed the dock and the lake!! Jack & Judi were very responsive with any questions we had. We will definitely go back!!
This was the perfect spot for our family to get together to celebrate our parents 50th anniversary. Plenty of room. Right on the lake with its on dock. Boat ramp nearby and a boat slip on the dock. It's a little tucked away in the woods and not real close to amenities, but part of our enjoyment was making our own meals and our own fun!oursmaking pur own fun
This is the second year in a row my friends and I have used this house for our annual get together. Itâs a quiet location but convenient to the interstate and the boat marinas. We rent a boat for two days and leave it at the house overnight on the dock which works really well.
We use the barbecue every night and our all impressed with its quality. The house is quite comfortable for six adults with no couples. Be careful with the location because not all GPS accurately reflect it I think.
We bought food in Greensville, which is less than two hours away for the entire weekend. There is a high-quality butcher and bakery or to there as well as the national chains.
This was our second summer stay at this wonderful property. It was great once again for our big family. We enjoyed the spacious accommodations! It is close to a boat ramp and the marina. The dock was great for our boat and pontoon. The outdoor back deck is large and wonderful for evening dining. The surrounding towns had everything you would need. This home is a 10 out of 10!
Our stay was delightful. The home was clean and well equipped in the kitchen, bedrooms and baths. We enjoyed fishing and boating from the dock. Jack and Judi were responsive to our messages and most accommodating to our needs. This was a great vacation for our family!!!
We had a great time on Lake Hartwell in this large lake house. Plenty of space for three families! Teens loved having the whole basement for themselves! And all loved the outside space on the huge deck and the large dock!
We took the whole family on a lake vacation here, ranging in ages from under a year to 60. We had an amazing time. We brought our boat and 2 jetskis. The cove was quiet, and the lake was not very crowded either. The kids enjoyed tubing, and also swimming at the dock. The younger kids and especially the dogs loved the beach area. I would suggest brining water shoes, as the water had some sharp objects and rocks, and the dock produced a few splinters in the kids feet. The house was very spacious with room for everyone, and plenty of bathrooms. This was one of the best stocked houses weâve ever stayed in with a large group. There are plenty of towels, dishes and everything for the crowd. Overall we had a great experience here!
We fell in love with Lake Hartwell while visiting friends on the lake. We were blessed to find this home and found it to be a peaceful yet fun retreat for our family. We love to travel and have always found VRBO to be a great asset in finding homes that other families are willing to share. Hope you enjoy Tugalo Heights and that you can make life long fond memories here to cherish for a lifetime.
This is our second home and as such, is filled with all of the amenities you need when traveling. If you don't see what you need, just call us. We most likely can point you to it!! We want you to relax, enjoy, and make wonderful memories that last a lifetime!
There are so many outdoor furniture sets and settings to gather or just relax and get away from it all! Covered and uncovered deck areas with seating as well as a large dinner table on the open deck for those nights that call for outside dining! All of the bedrooms are spacious. Close to Clemson. Great watersports on Lake Hartwell! This home is truly exceptional for large groups. Even the drive to it takes you a step back in time to an easier life.
