chambre qui contient un lit complet et un canapé-lit. Il a également un
belle zone de baignade avec un fond sablonneux pour adultes et enfants de
tous ages. Il est situé juste sur Gun Lake à Chicago

Family vacation

We stayed for the week and it was wonderful. Looking forward to next year already it was very relaxing and peaceful. We will definitely be coming in the years to come.

The smell of the water was terrible, especially in the bathroom sink. It had a rotten egg smell. Wish there had been stairs from the dock for easy access to water. We ended up using a neighbors. (Lynn). She also came over and smelled the water she felt the filtering system wasn’t working.

We have addressed the water system and with a new filtration system. Wish that they would have contacted us during their stay so that we could have come and rectified what was causing the smell. We have direct beach access from the shore - a sandy sloped beach that allows you to wade into the lake.

Perfect for our summer vacation

Upon arrival we were instantly (nicely ) surprised when we walked in the door. It was clean and perfect for our cottage getaway. The bedroom was nice size with plenty of room to walk around. The front porch/sleeping area was good size as well with a futon to add extra sleeping space or just relaxing. Bathroom had been updated so it was perfect (as I’m a picky bathroom person)! Very nice stay and would love to go back!

Beautiful week

The cottage is no frills, simple, and just precious. I loved sleeping out on the sleeping porch with all the windows and the view of the water. We had a couple storms come in that were exciting and a little intense. Life on a lake! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. So much to do and explore in the area, but it’s even more fun just to stay at the cottage.

Pleasant Lake Cottage

We returned for a second summer to spend another nice week in July at this beautiful Gun Lake location. We enjoyed swimming, the row boat, and the wonderful lake view at sunset. The cottage was clean and met the needs of a retired couple enjoying a quiet time at the waterfront.

Peaceful and cute

Very nice cabin with sandy bottom lake access. My family enjoyed fishing from dock. Grilled out and enjoyed campfires. Owners were friendly and easy to work with. Will rent again!

Clean and comfy cottage on Gun Lake.

Just had a great relaxing week. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure in shower. Wonderful view. Right on the lake with your own private dock and beach. Cottage was very clean and had everything you needed. Would return.

A Great Cottage

This is the best place. The cottage was spotless clean and ready to be enjoyed. Located on the south side of the lake, it is very private and quiet. Weather was warm but with the front and back door open there was a wonderful breeze all the time. The beach was clean and the lake had a sandy bottom. Looking off the front deck we saw the most beautiful sunset over the lake. Think we enjoyed our stay? You betcha. Enjoyed it so much that we already booked it again for next year. If you’re looking for a fantastic place to enjoy for a vacation, you’ve found it. It deserves the 5 star rating I gave it.

A great to place to spend a week!

This cottage was a wonderful place for us to stay for a week. It was as presented on VRBO. No complaints whatsoever. The owners were quick to respond to our questions. The place was nicely equipped and easily met our expectations. The AC was helpful for sleeping on one warm and humid night. Gas grille worked well and fuel was included. The grandkids who stayed a couple of nights were pleased with their beds on the porch. Kitchen appliances were all fine. If my wife and I were to visit the Gun Lake area again, this place would be our first choice considering budget constraints for fixed income seniors. We recommend this cottage.

Great location!

Property needs updates. Property is listed as 2 bedrooms, but second bedroom is a porch and has no door from the living room. Bedroom has a window to the porch . If you expecting some privacy, there none . In my opinion this is one bedroom cottage with porch going to the deck. Owners are very nice people and quickly respond to all requests.

Thanks for your review. We haven't had the comment about privacy from our other renters. We are looking into installing a sliding barn door to offer more privacy to the porch bedroom.

Lakeside Gem

This is the perfect lakeside getaway. It has all you might need. tranquil, picturesque view. Clean, sandy bottom lake that is shallow for a long distance out from the shore. Quiet neighborhood. We came from California specifically for birding this area of Michigan. The location of this charming home was close to many birding sites. We were glad we made the choice to stay here. Thank you, Cheryl and Steph, for providing the opportunity for quests to relax and unwind with this gem.

Quaint cottage on beautiful lake

We had a wonderful time staying in this rustic little cottage on Gun Lake. It is exactly as we expected it to be and nice and clean. Everything we needed to enjoy a week exploring the lake and wonderful owners as well. We are already planning next year’s visit!

Wonderful Retreat

We loved our week at this Gun Lake Cottage. We have been renting from Cheryl and Stephanie for many years and are never disappointed. They are extremley friendly and accomodating. This year we were pleasantly surprised to find some updates (new porch windows and flat screen TV mounted up on the wall). The kitchen is well supplied for your convenience. The only thing I might suggest are a few wall hooks to be able to hang personal items up. The location of the cottage on a bay cuts down on the heavy traffic over the weekends. We will definatley be back!

This is a family owned property that has been passed down by generation to generation. We are four siblings that are interested in keeping the spirit of family vacations alive and affordable. All of us were brought out here as children to weekend and vacation.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

This property came into our family through our Aunt and Uncle. Our Aunt ran a store from this property and the building still stands as a family cottage. She started leasing the rental cottage out when she ran the store. Her sister and brothers came out to enjoy the lake and as their families grew they brought their children. My mother inherited the property when all of her siblings passed on. When she passed on we her children inherited this property. This is our little piece of heaven.

As a family we have maintained and improved this property through the years. We enjoy spectacular sunsets and have many special memories of the lake.
