We had a wonderful time in this house that had lots of charm and comfortable vibes. We had plenty of room and everything was clean and inviting. The outside was just as wonderful as the inside. We had several meals under the lights of the patio and bonfires in the back. The neighborhood was peaceful and relaxing too. The owners were wonderful to work with and very accommodating. This was a great experience and you would be missing out if you don’t stay here too.

Farmhouse Gathering Place

Wonderful, quirky and unique farmhouse, Spacious enough for a large group. Plenty of bedrooms for privacy. Comfortable Gathering around a big table for games and meals. Great flyfishing and restful weekend stay. Artsy vibe With lots of interesting conversation pieces, Winery, food and ale, cafe and good food nearby. Easy and instant communication with our host. PSU Grad weekend … Great alternative to a hotel! A little TLC and we would’ve rated it at 10!

PSU trip

The trip was great and we loved the location. The decor was worn & there was a musty smell due to the woodland setting. It was sanitary but dusty around the eclectic decor. It had an unusual layout, with the 2 full baths being connected. The host was awesome and very flexible with our needs. I didn’t mention any concerns, As they were not able to be addressed quickly.

Cute, Cozy and Beautiful!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The owner was super communicative and helped make our check in/stay easy and smooth. The house itself is gorgeous with charming decoration and cozy pellet stove to keep us warm during an unexpectedly cold spring weekend. We’d love to go back and make use of all of the great outdoor spaces on the property as well. It’s proximity to Penn’s Cave and hiking at different state parks were fantastic as well. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

Perfect for a weekend on Penn’s

2 friends and I rented the house for a weekend fishing Penn’s Creek and couldn’t be happier. Close to the river (5 minutes), walked to the Feathered Hook for flies/advice, and overall had a great experience. James is a great host and the house had everything we needed. Outstanding.

Creek house stay for PSU game

We enjoyed our stay at this cute rustic house. It looks like it would be a lot of fun in warm weather to sit on the porch and enjoy the creek.

Rustic, peaceful cabin-like home

If you want to stay at a simple, place that is rustic and peaceful, this is the place for you. The owner was very nice and accessible. Amenities were minimal, however, kitchen could be better stocked and dish drainer had mold on it. The beds were soft, not sure where all the towels were hiding. If you're wanting a hotel like stay, this is not the place for you. However, the grounds were lovely, with a nice fishing pond and the porch was a perfect spot for viewing the Amish people as they passed by in their horse and buggies. It's a very old house with few updates but generally clean.

Great rustic home

We reserved thishome for a wine tasting weekend in penn State area. James was super friendly and answered all our questions before we arrived. He met us at the house to show us where everything was and how to use the pellet stove. Couldn’t have been nicer. If you’re looking for a 5-star upscale place, look somewhere else. But if you are looking for a comfortable country/rustic home with lots of space and quirky features....you’ve hit the jackpot! Loved the pellet stove, the random album decorations, the grassy creek area. We also loved the big dining table that we could all sit at and eat/talk. We had a blast and will definitely book again if we are ever back in the area. One word of warning....it is out in middle of no-where so very hard to find an Uber/Lyft if you want to go out and don’t want to drive

An outdoorsman's paradise

This is a place for people who want to have the ability to experience the outdoors. The view from the porch is beautiful. We were unable to fish, because of weather, but it does look like nice water. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was nicely updated. The pellet stove kept us toasty - it got pretty cold between the rain and a cold front that came through. I think that this house is perfect in warmer weather, when one can hike, bike and fish. Proximity to PSU for the hockey games was good it took about 40 minutes for us to get there. Bonus: The house is 3 miles from Millheim and the Elk Creek Cafe & Aleworks! James is a great communicator and was available for questions. Glad we were there.

Bucolic retreat for PSU weekend!

Four PSU alumni families shared this house for the Pitt-Penn State game. It couldn't have worked out any better! The home is a beautiful drive down Rt 45 from State College and is in the heart of Amish country. The setting is gorgeous. We loved hanging on the porch and mostly in the big dining area talking into the night. And the fisherman in the group got two sessions in during the weekend! The price was phenomenal for a big game weekend as well. Jim was available for all my questions which I appreciated. I thought the drive would be really far from State College but the 40 minute drive went fast because it's so pretty and we didn't hit any traffic! Truly a Happy Valley weekend!

Beautiful and charming home

We had a wonderful time at the Creek House. James was a friendly and helpful resource, giving us tips for what to do in the area. The house was charming and beautiful and the nature surrounding it was stunning. Our kids played for hours down by the creek and we are already making plans to go back to this house next year!

Great vibe

Five of us enjoyed staying at this property in mid April. We were in the area on an annual fishing trip and were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the property. The pictures don't do the place justice (more to view on Airbnb). Perfectly positioned for outdoor activities, yet appointed well enough to more than enjoy yourself if the weather doesn't cooperate. Something incredibly relaxing about lounging on the porch, while listening to the stream out front and hearing the sound of horse shoes occasionally trotting along the hard road. The owner kept great communication, affording privacy, while ensuring we were enjoying our stay. All in all, a great experience in a very cool house. We'll be returning next year!

Great weekend stay for some fishing!

My family stayed for a couple days of trout fishing in nearby streams. I'd say the profile pictures did a pretty good job describing the place. It's an older home with a bit of clutter around the exterior, but they've done a nice job renovating the interior and created an open floor plan that is great for a group with a large kitchen / dining area flowing into a living area. Note it is an older home so it has creaks and quirks, but that was expected from the pics and description. Plenty of private rooms for a bunch of folks. There's also a huge grass yard that fronts Elk Creek that had a badminton net which was a hit with the kids - the very large yard is not readily apparent in the pictures, so that was a bonus. Everything in the house worked as described, including the Wi-Fi and we had no issues. Note that the portion of Elk Creek that fronts the property is not stocked with trout, but there were a few in there that were either wild or migrated up from Penns or down from the upper reaches of Elk that is stocked. Would stay there again.
