Comfortable and Convenient Home

We stayed here while our family of 5 visited the adorable town of Salida. The house was comfortable, well-stocked and just steps from the town - restaurants, river, park, etc. Enjoyed having our morning coffee on the front porch and occasional visits from deer. There is no A/C but if you open windows at night and close up house during heat of day, was perfectly fine for us - and it was super hot during our stay (90 during the day). Could not believe how quiet the town was at night - so lovely!

Perfect for a Family

This property was conveniently located close to downtown, the river and a great park for the kids to play. The place was neat and clean and included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We really appreciated the attention to details such as a can opener, coffee, laundry detergent, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, etc. Our children were able to watch their favorite shows on tv and we found board games. Our host had thought of everything to help us enjoy our stay in a lovely little town.

Almost perfect

the only other thing that would have been nice is a laundry basket, a washer that would work on cold water and a shower head that didnt spray all over the place. Not a deal breaker though.....We would Definity stay here again!!!

Wonderful get acquainted stay

We booked in downtown Salida to get a feel for the area and downtown Salida in particular as we are considering buying a second home in the area. The location allowed us to get to know the downtown area and amenities. We were very pleased. The house is nice and comfortable.

Perfect Place

We had such a wonderful time staying at Starlight Cottage with our children and a couple friends for a wedding. The layout of the house is excellent and the location could not have been better - just steps from the park! The manager Wendy was very responsive and accommodating and we even got to meet the owner when he stopped by to fix the bathtub and was lovely as well. I would recommend this house to anyone and hope to come back to stay again!

Weekend stay

House was walking distance to downtown with lots of shops and restaurants, as well as a park and the river. Location couldn’t have been better! Check in was easy and host was responsive.

Everything we needed

This property was perfect for our stay as we worked the fiber festival in the nearby park! Everything was clean and accommodating for us! Next time we might bring our dogs as it would have been a great place for them to. The best part was seeing the triplet fawns out the window playing.

Salida review

This is a great property and had many provided details...coffee, filters, hand soap dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pellets, laundry soap, shower soap etc. It is in a great location to downtown and Riverside Park. It also provides two parking spots. The bed in the front bedroom could use some softening and the pillows could be plumper. There were no casserole dishes (9x13 or 8x8) in the kitchen, nor were there mixing bowls for making muffins or for scrambled eggs. We are a little more particular about the kitchen dishes since our granddaughter is Celiac and we have to cook our meals at home and not eat out. Otherwise this was a wonderful cottage. Hope to be back.

Family Ski Vacation

Family of father, son and grandson (2 adults and 1 teen), each had a comfortable bedroom. House was nicely updated with modern conveniences and located only a block from downtown. We enjoyed skiing at Monarch Mountain and then taking walks downtown for dining and shopping. Parking behind house had easy access to back door. All in all an enjoyable stay.
