Great place, great location

Very happy with my stay this week. Fully-equipped kitchen with good fridge, microwave and stove. Easy beach access even with the pool deck under repair. Convenient location right off the Dunlawton (Port Orange) Causeway. A few very minor things the property owners could fix/change, but I was quite pleased with the unit, building and location.

We absolutely disclose the information regarding the building amenities & have been since late 2022. It is a shame that you did not read the property description before booking since the information regarding the down amenities is located at the very top of our property description on Vrbo. The disclosure also states which we have copied directly from our property description on Vrbo “Beach access available next door at Dunlawton beach ramp.” In addition to this information, there is a caption on a picture of the pool that says to refer to the property description for amenities updates. It feels like nothing has or is being done to fix the hurricane damage, properties around have already been or are being repaired but in our entire stay we saw no one working on the much needed repairs. Property is in a great location but really needs some TLC!

I did enjoy my month stay at this condo, I loved being on the 7th floor and waking up to the ocean everyday. I have to say the room could use some updating the bed should be a platform bed that way it doesn’t move off the wall. I enjoyed my stay and that would be my only issue would be the studio could use a upgrade.

My mom was very disappointed overall, she loved the view and being on the water, even location was great. The condo wasn't to her cleanliness, toilet didn't flush, tub drain slow. She lost internet half way through stay and no one called her back or came to fix it. So she will never go back there.

You get what you pay for.

The building and the room we stayed in were outdated and could use some sprucing up. The bed was not comfortable, and you sunk into the middle. Very little decor in the room. One piece of "decor" was a divided serving tray. The bathtub did not drain well - while taking a shower, you'd be ankle deep in water. The view was beautiful. Centrally located to a lot of restaurants and things to do. For the price, we got what we paid for - not horrible but not worth taking pictures to post of social media.

Great Bang for the Buck

This unit was really nice. Could be updated a bit but that's getting picky. The location and view were spectacular. The beach and restaurants around the area are awesome. North Turn was our favorite restaurant. This was a first for us on the Atlantic side. 12 years going to the Gulf. This is 10 miles south of Daytona and was not insane busy. Very relaxing and great get away with my wife. Highly recommend unit 717 and this area. 3 elevators so no issues. The pool is NOT Heated but we knew that beforehand. Wish it was but again nitpicking. Parking was adequate.

Get what you pay for

Make sure you read the details. No pool, no where to sit and no beach access. Room itself is cute for a couple. Clean. Building it is in is awful. They don’t turn the AC on so you get no relief from coming in from the Florida heat. It’s like a sauna. Workers in the building are rude, especially the young blonde girl. If you have back or feet issues and want beach access this is not the place.

Great little room by the sea

I was in a time crunch to find a room for me and my 2 son's and one of there best friends. I was going down for a last min trip there with my girlfriend and her family but didn't have much time to book a room. So my girlfriend was looking for me and found this little gem. It was perfect for me and my boys. The pool at the place was out but that is understandable because of the bad hurricane that hit a couple yrs ago. The room was very clean when we got there, The air in the room worked perfect on those hot days. Had everything in the room from dishes to pots and pans, silver wear anything you need to live there. It was a perfect place for me and my boys ages 18-22. I would stay there again anytime I get the chance to Daytona again. I had no problems at all while staying there. 10 out of 10 from me and my boys. Thank you so much for this little gem. Thank you

Efficient Room with a Great View

The keypad code entry was convenient; no worries for lost room keys. Plenty of parking. The bed was comfortable. Space was tight for the sleeper sofa and bed, which made the kitchenette very close to the bed. Items that need to be addressed: 1) Replace the fluorescent light bulb above the bathroom sink. 2) Unclog the bath tub drain. It drains very slowly, causing water to back up while showering. 3) There were no clothes hangers in the closet. I understand not having these. I bought some at Wal-Mart for the next renter to (steal) use. 4) It would be an added convenience if this VRBO unit had its own Wifi. The building wifi was not reliable. All in all, it was a good stay.

Poor Cleaning..

no heads up water being shut off per this is a big problem and inconvenience to alot guest staying there, and trying to desand from the beach to the pool no water at all. also when we arrived hair all in the bathroom and on toilet, the shower is very nasty and moldey, when u shower the bathtub drain is so clogged it fills the bathtub up. the door lock chain is broken couldn't even use it to feel safe when sleeping at night had to use a chair in front of the door. the door gets jammed and u can't get in barley we didn't lock the door the whole time because it took us 15 - 20 minutes to even get into the door yes there is a code the door is so nessed up it doesnt let u in had to havr serveal people help... Im sorry but for the price I paid to enjoy a get away with my daughter .not happy at all with this place and we will not stay again. whole place In general pirates cove needs to be updated.. Plus side it is ocean front so that was the only best thing.

We’re glad you liked that the unit is oceanfront. Please keep in mind that just as we informed you once you emailed us, water is a building amenity and we do not get a heads up when there is a building emergency water shutoff as we only manage the unit not the building, however Pirate’s Cove posts all notices by all of the elevators. **Most importantly we would like to point out that this guest only informed our maintenance team of her complaints after she checked out. Our check-in & checkout procedures clearly states to report any dissatisfaction & for assistance during your stay to contact our maintenance department and we provide the contact information to do so within the check-in & checkout procedures. These are the exact same procedures that has the door access code needed to enter the unit. How could we fix or address any of this after your stay. If you felt so unsafe regarding the door we are baffled why you would not contact maintenance. As you can see in reviews the property is enjoyed by many that do not describe close to what you have in your review. All the information you needed was there so we are uncertain of your motives in this review but we wish you all the best.

Love the beach

The room is nice but the pull out bed is super uncomfortable and needs vacuuming between guests. I had to use a blanket to lay over the back of because it was dirty although it's suppossedly new. Not sure that the tiles can ever be cleaned completely and the tub has mold on it. Not the cleanest place but we only used it to sleep and shower. and watch the sun come up. Also I will say that if you are going there you must go to P in the elevator to get to the beach or pool otherwise you have to walk around the long way. The mgmt sent someone next day to clean again when I complained on arrival however, I only found out when I got back and found my door open while she was in another apartment where I found her after looking to see why the door was open.. She told me the mold isn't her fault but she'd wiped off the shower curtain as much as she could. I didn't believe that budget friendly was synonymous with dirt/mold I was appalled that my privacy was invaded and my belongings were left unsecure with an open door. Other than that, everything else was great and I choose to be happy.

We appreciate your opinion & please keep in mind that everyone's preference of what is a comfortable bed is different. You will also see that other reviews do not state the same about the pullout couch. The unit was professionally cleaned prior to your arrival & we thank you for following your check-in & checkout procedures and contacting our maintenance team. Please note that there was no mold, the curtain would be replaced if there was. We dispatched the cleaners right away per your request, however they confirmed it was cleaned properly but they tried to make you happy anyway. Also, if there was mold present that is another item that would be stated in other reviews if it was the case, but it is not. Yes, P on the elevator stands for pool. 😉 Best wishes.

Decent place. Hard to open door!

The door is extremely hard to open. On our first day I had to call the after hours number because we thought the code wasn't working. This was extremely stressful after a long day of travel. Also one of the other owners on the 3rd floor was extremely rude yelling down at people on the pool deck. The location is nice and the room was clean and everything worked well. Bonus points for many plugins and even usb crargers!!!

We’re sorry to hear you had issues opening the door which has not been a previous issue, but that is exactly why we provide an emergency after hours phone number to call for assistance, thank you for following your procedures. We’re also sorry to hear an owner 4 floors down was being rude & wish we had authority over other owners but we only manage the unit itself. We hope you understand & we wish you all the best.
