Francesca was a great host. The location was great, with walkable access to the beach and plenty of great food and beverage options. I love catching the sunset at Ocean Beach and some favorite food stops were the deli at the co-op, Mike's Taco Club, Rosemarie's Buns & Brews

This little haven was a lovely experience, close to central Ocean Beach and my friends who live there. Yes it’s under the flight paths but they soon became white noise; the unit was secure so I felt safe; the items offered in the kitchen and bathroom were very welcome; and it was an easy place to stay and find my way from. I recommend it to other first timers in OB in San Diego.

I called it my “she shack” perfect for a single traveler. There is no AC so get the fans going. There is a fire station across the street which made me feel more secure. If you’re going to ocean beach often it is about a 15 minute walk. Overall a great stay and the hosts communicated. Just be sure to also be polite and communicate.

This place is great! Everything you need to stay for the weekend. Walking distance to dog beach and Newport ave. Bed was very comfy and clean. Plenty of utensils for cooking. Ocean Beach is a very vibrant and diverse community. A lot to do here.

Not Quite As Expected

This property would be best suited for a young traveler living out of a backpack. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and it was a short walk to our friends' home.

We arrived, put in the code from the email we had recently received through VRBO and were greeted by a noisy small dog. It was obvious someone was living there. We called the property manager who was apologetic and refunded our money immediately but we were still left finding a new place to stay…

Good location & worked for us since we just needed a place to sleep. It was clean, but it’s small and could definitely use some updating. It included beach equipment, but both of the chairs were rusty and broken. I communicated that to the host and they were very responsive. It’s also right under a flight path that started around 6:30am and didn’t stop until around 11pm. That’s obviously not at fault to the hosts, just something to be aware of. I felt it was a bit expensive for what we got, but in San Diego you’re paying for location. I like to walk and there’s plenty of stuff around to walk to- great coffee, food, beach, etc.

My thoughts

My stay was wonderful, despite the weather. Good location and close many places to eat, walking distant to shops and the beach. Ceiling lights above the bed didn't work and bathroom door really tight. Hooks on back door prevent it from fully opening, maybe replace it with a curtain.

Francesca’s studio is charming. For a studio, it has a nice layout. It had everything I needed for a short stay. It is conveniently located near shops, restaurants and the beach. I would stay there again.

LOVE, LOVE this property. Walking distance to everything. Perfect space for my husband and I. We travel to SD 3-5 times a year. This cottage is going to be our perm home away from home. Francesca was awesome.
