Situé à El Cotillo, un petit village de pêcheurs rustique, connu pour ses belles plages, El Carmen est un appartement duplex joliment décoré et meublé de 2 chambres et 2 salles de bains pouvant accueillir confortablement 5 personnes. Vue imprenable sur la mer et la montagne et le soleil toute la journée, qui peut être apprécié sur l'une des 2 grandes terrasses privées. L'appartement comprend une immense terrasse inférieure sécurisée, qui offre un espace parfait pour les barbecues, les repas en plein air et les bains de soleil. Le grand espace de vie décloisonné a une vue magnifique sur l'océan Atlantique, une cuisine entièrement équipée, un coin repas et de grands canapés en cuir. Un couloir mène à la chambre et à la salle de bain. La chambre principale avec sa salle de bain en suite et la terrasse supérieure sont situées au deuxième étage. Cette terrasse est particulièrement idéale pour les bains de soleil privés. L'appartement offre des vacances parfaites pour ceux qui apprécient le confort de la vie moderne dans un cadre magnifique, loin de tout emplacement.

Enjoyable two weeks

We had a lovely two week break at John’s Cotillo apartment. Very spacious and being well equipped, it made for a stress free holiday. A Great location with a mixture of holiday rentals and friendly Spanish residents. A well stocked supermarket across the road and the surfers beach a few hundred meters away. Would love to return next year.

Perfect place to stay in El Cotillo

So nice to wake up to the sun coming up over the mountains each day. Johns place is just perfect, clean, tidy and spacious. The outside areas are such a bonus and are the best we have stayed in so far, in over 10 years that we have been going to Fuerteventura. Our only point would be to say that the beds/ pillows for us weren’t the comfiest. Would definitely recommend and would love to rent it again one day.

Regarding the beds we have recently replaced the two single beds and the double bed with very high end mattresses. I do know that comfort of beds can be a very personal thing. We will be replacing the pillows next time we are out. We would love to welcome you back in the future.

2 level upstairs apartment with 2 spacious and private outdoor terraces. Central to town, shopping, beaches. Very clean. Quiet. Lots of parking. Easy checkin vía keybox and great communication with the John. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and relaxing

Great base to discover El Cotillo and all its charms. The property internally had everything you needed and was in very good condition throughout. Add to that the excellent two outdoor spaces, with all day sunshine, and you do have a great stay. And then there are the views to the mountains and the Atlantic. Superb. Definitely looking to return

Quiet El Cotillo

I have just returned from a 2 week trip staying at this apartment , which provided an ideal base for which to explore Fuerteventura . Whilst I was out most of the daylight hours , on my return the property was a comfortable and relaxing refuge where I could absorb the experiences of the day and cook an evening meal . The owner was easy to deal with and I would use the apartment again .

Best yet in all out times in el Cotillo

We’ve been to el Cotillo multiple times and spent lots of time there. This was the best experience we’ve had (and it’s normally great). We loved this apartment. Just felt right. The patios and facilities are amazing. It just help make a great holiday something special. Thanks to John and to his local rep Suka for being fabulous hosts.

El cotillo holiday

The apartment is spacious with lovely views, in the right part of town and we enjoyed our holiday. The cleaning lady who came in unexpectedly did a brilliant job.It would be fair to say though that the apartment would benefit from a bit of diy here and there, some small updating is required which would make a difference as it is an attractive apartment.

Relaxing September break in the sunshine

Spacious 2 bed apartment in a complex that we have stayed at before. Easy to find, parking on site and keys obtained via key lock so check in very convenient. Enjoyed sitting on the upper terrace late afternoon and evenings with a glass of something fruit based watching the world go by! We self catered and all kitchen equipment is supplied...well stocked supermarket nearby, opening hours 08:30 to 21:00hrs. Plenty of restaurants nearby if you prefer to sample the local cuisine! We hired a car so that we could choose to spend our days on the beaches at the lagoons or travel to the other side of the island and enjoy the beaches south of Corralejo by the sand dunes! This apartment is in a quiet part of the island and is ideal for people that want a relaxing time away in comfort in the sunshine! The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to messages. Would recommend to friends.

Definitely a four star property. Great location, great views, clean, tidy and bright, with an excellent balance of private outdoor space to living area. 'Excellence', needs attention to detail which is missing - for instance the door to the en-suite only easily opens to about 12 or 14 inches - getting in requires a sideways squeeze. To open wider requires a hefty shove which creates a lot of noise, not ideal in the night. The door to the bathroom is similarly restricted but not as badly. The reason for two stars - noise, especially in the night time - during a 21 night stay I experienced just four nights without broken sleep caused by noise from water pumps on the roof. As I understand it, there are five water tanks on the roof, each with it's own pump, serving 5 apartments. Any use of water in any apartment causes a pump to start and refill the tank. Most noise was early morning - people getting up at six and using water, but on three occasions a pump apparently went faulty and ran intermittently day and night on a six second cycle. Start with a thud, run and stop, start with a thud, run and stop, on and on. Thats 10 cycles a minute 600 an hour on and on and on. The second time it happened I involved the owner as the local manager appeared totally disinterested and he was terrific and got the noise stopped. The third time he was just as disinterested as his local manager, didn't even acknowledge my messages. So we spent the last three days and nights listening to the pump

I think this review is a little unfair. There was a problem with the pump (not the one on our tank) but a neighbours. I did everything I could to get it fixed up to and including having strong words with the neighbour who lives abroad. This has now all been resolved and there is no noise from the water pump.

We go to Fuerteventura a few times a year and stay in various properties around Lajares. First time we stayed in El Cotillo which we know very well. The property location is excellent and quiet. Both terraces are very private and views upstairs are stunning. We made the most of it during our stay. We didn't need the check in or help from the person onsite as John's instructions received prior to our trip were excellent and totally self explanatory especially as we know the area very well. The apartment was very spacious and even though some of fittings are a little outdated everything worked very well therefore this didn't bother us. The only comment I would like to make is there was nothing in the property such as condiments etc. All properties we have stayed in always have the minimum such as salt pepper handwash spare bin liners and such like! This is the only comment I can suggest which could have enhanced a very enjoyable week away.

Extrem gut gelegenes Appartment, wenn man schnell zum Piedra Playa oder einfach nur zum Hafen möchte. Dass der Supermarkt um die Ecke ist, macht es noch einfacher.

Schöne Wohnung

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in El Cotillo sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist schön, vor allem die beiden Terassen und der Ausblick. Insgesamt ist die Wohnungen etwas in die Jahre gekommen, es ist aber alles sauber. Wie hier bereits schon oft erwähnt, können wir nicht verstehen, warum es kein Zubehör zum Spülen gibt, oder ein paar Dinge um die Wohnung während des Aufenthalts sauber zu halten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war super, wir konnten früher anreisen und auch bei Problemen mit dem DVD Player wurde uns sofort geholfen.

I first visited Fuerteventura with my family in 2002. During the holiday we travelled around the island and discovered El Cotillo, which felt like paradise. We then started to holiday in El Cotillo and fell in love with the village and its beaches. We had never been a family who returned to the same place for holidays, but when it came to El Cotillo we couldn’t help ourselves!

We were on holiday in El Cotillo over New Year in 2007and during our stay we decided to view some properties for sale. We wanted a holiday home that was large, modern and very comfortable and essentially it had to have lots of sunshine and ocean views. El Carmen is certainly the property we wanted – it really has all the comforts of modern living in a stunning location.
