The Old Tump House est une maison du 18ème siècle rénovée avec amour donnant sur la forêt de Dean. Toutes les chambres ont de belles vues sur le verger adjacent et vers la forêt.

Le chalet dispose d'une cuisine américaine, d'un coin repas et d'un coin salon. Il y a des sièges pour 6 personnes autour de la table à manger et en été, vous pourrez manger à l'extérieur sur la terrasse / barbecue. En hiver, vous pouvez vous installer confortablement sur le canapé quatre places autour du poêle à bois.

Le pub local est à distance de marche et il y a de grandes attractions à proximité. L'emplacement paisible et les fantastiques attractions locales conviendront aux personnes souhaitant se ressourcer ou profiter au maximum des activités de plein air proposées. Les propriétaires et leur jeune famille vivent dans la maison adjacente, ils sont donc à votre disposition pour tout conseil ou si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit. Si nous sommes absents, nous pouvons facilement être contactés par téléphone.

Notre maison voisine - Cider Cottage - est également disponible à la location. Il peut accueillir 6 personnes et dispose de beaucoup d'espace de vie. Plus de belles fonctionnalités comme le chauffage au sol, un poêle à bois et beaucoup pour les enfants (trampoline, lits superposés avec toboggan, etc.). The Old Tump house was an excellent nase for us to explore the Forest of Dean. The hosts were excllent - early communication of ideas and things ti do in the area and Fay came and introduced herself on our first night, and we were able to pick her brains for things to do and places to eat! The house itself was well kept, excellent sized bedrooms all with en-suites and came with everything we needed for our stay.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely, peaceful location right next to the forest. Equipped with everything you could need, and a lovely welcome hamper even though we were just staying a couple of nights to break up a long journey. The owners were welcoming and helpful living right next door, but without intruding on our privacy. Very comfortable beds, very clean, and very cosy with the lovely wood burner lit. Love the area, and would certainly return.

A Taste of Heaven in The Forest

This is a proper gem! The owners (& their Animal companions) live onsite & were really welcoming, the cottage itself is beautiful in & out, surrounded by the forest, so, so peaceful but close to pubs, shops, restaurants etc. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom & the kitchen is well equipped.We were in the area specifically to visit Puzzle Wood, about 20mins away. A magical place, well worth a visit.Thank you Fay for a wonderful stay.We hope to be back soon

The perfect get away.

From beginning to end, this was one of the easiest trips I've ever booked.We arrived at the cottage to find a beautiful welcome hamper filled with thoughtful treats, which was such a lovely touch. The house itself is stunning — we truly didn’t want to leave.It was incredibly well-equipped with everything we could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable, and we all slept soundly during our stay.Both the children and our dog had a fantastic time, and we especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the use of the outdoor space.The hosts were great — friendly, helpful, and available if we needed anything (which we didn’t!).The whole place felt warm and welcoming, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Get away time

Lovely weekend away with some lads to escape the city. With a bit of furniture rearranging, car Jenga, and sharing one of the doubles, we all fit in well with a log fire going in the evenings. Toilet flush pressure needed some working out. Great overall and would recommend. Weather was gray.

Das süße, etwas windschiefe Cottage liegt in kurzer Distanz zum Dean Forest. Es ist liebevolle dekoriert und eingerichtet. Das Haus befindet sich direkt neben dem Cottag der Vermieter. Es besitzt 3 Schlafzimmer mit jeweils angrenzendem Bad und ist soweit gut ausgestattet. Es gibt genügend Gläser, Geschirr und Besteck. Manches davon ist in die Jahre gekommen (Pfanne extrem zerkratzt und Wasserkocher komplett verkalkt). Der nächste Supermarkt ist ca. 8-10 min Fahrtzeit entfernt. Das Haus ist wohl für Hunde erlaubt. Leider haben sich nicht alle vorherigen Mieter an die Regeln gehalten, so dass das Sofa und die Kissen sehr stark nach Hund riechen und voll Hundehaare waren. Für den Sommer hätten wir es als schön empfunden, wenn es (abgesehen von der Picknickbank vom Foto) mehr Gartenmöbel oder bequemere Loungemöbel gegeben hätte, um die warmen, lauen Sommerabende auch draußen genießen zu können.

Super Auszeit und Ruhe im Grünen

Herrliches Cottage, voll ausgestattet mit allem was benötigt wird. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und kommunikativ. Alle Fragen vor Anreise wurden schnell beantwortet. Der Forest of Dean lädt zu vielen Aktivitäten ein. Sollten wir wieder in die Region kommen, buchen wir wieder dieses Cottage.

Great location, beautiful cottage...

We had a lovely stay in The Old Tump House. The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and in a lovely location, convenient for trips to Symonds Yat, Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Ross, etc. Faye was really helpful and very responsive both before and during our stay. We would certainly book again if visiting the area in future.

Beautiful setting, comfortable cottage

Lovely stone cottage just a few yards from the Forest of Dean with all the facilities you would expect of a family home. Welcoming owners and very comfortable. The only disappointment was that we didn't spot any of the wild boar.

Lovely bolt hole in the Forest of Dean

Stylish and comfy cottage on the edge of the forest. Bedrooms extremely spacious and comfortable all with beautiful bathrooms. Great location to explore and the hosts were very available and welcoming. Fresh flowers and a starter basket of basics was much appreciated.

Simply perfect!

If you’re looking for somewhere to get back to nature, or be adventurous- but still want all the home comforts, then this is it. Beautiful well equipped cottage, lovely welcoming hosts and the Forest is right on your doorstep - and very comfy beds to fall into at the end of each busy day. Our first visit to this area and we have loved what it has to offer. Forest and river walks, Go Ape, Canoeing and Puzzlewood, a week is just not long enough! We’ll be coming back for more I’m sure

Fab forest get away

Had a lovely week in this cottage. Fab location, easy to get to other places in the Forest and walks on your doorstep too. Quiet setting and beautiful surroundings and Fay the owner was very helpful. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Only negative for us was we struggled to all sit comfortably on the one sofa.

Fresh Air and Home Comforts

The cottage is in a beautiful location backing onto a small apple orchard and overlooking the Forest. It's easily accessible from the road and well signed. The interior is beautifully laid out, spacious and inviting. The outside area is perfect for a bbq or breakfast to enjoy the fresh air and views. Fay was a very friendly and accommodating host and answered all questions really promptly and thoroughly. A fantastic break.

Absolutely Perfect

There isn't much more to say except that everything about this property was exceptional. We didn't want to leave! Fay was incredibly helpful, taking the time to welcome us and to give us a good rundown on the area. The cottage was very clean, and we had no problems with check-in or check-out. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

Blakeney Stay

We enjoyed our time in Blakeney. The cottage was clean and tidy and was equipped for 6. The bedrooms were spacious and the bright and airy. We did find the sofa seating area limited, it only sat 3 or 4 and was not particularly comfortable. Despite that, it was a good place to stay and recommend it.

Lovely short break

Attractive, quiet cottage in beautiful countryside. Very comfortable and clean with modern bathrooms but still full of character. It would have helped to have had a postcode and detailed instructions on how to find the cottage, but apart from that it was excellent.

lovely stay at the cottage

We had a wonderful weekend with 6 friends. The rooms were very clean and we were very pleased that every bedroom had their own bathroom. The setting was great, in the middle of the Forest of Dean. We would recommend it to everyone!
