This was our fourth stay at Bank Cottage and every bit as enjoyable as our other stays. The weather was hot and made full use of the decking and gazebo which gave ample shade combined with magnificent views and plums and apples on hand! Harry, our Collie, loved the enclosed garden with ample space for chasing his ball. The beds are very comfortable and bathroom enjoys splendid view across the wye valley. We spent one hot day at Clearwell Caves a short drive away, also canoed on the Wye and visited the Butterfly Farm. Plenty to do and combine with several walks. It is the perfect base for a holiday in this area.

A beautiful place, remote and quiet with wonderful views. Clean, comfortable, and stocked with pamphlets and maps for ideas of what to do and hikes to take. Host was very helpful in forwarding detailed driving-in directions.The driving in and out is a bit tricky especially for those used to right-side driving. Wifi is spotty so be sure to transcribe the lockbox code before you arrive!

The house was lovely, with fantastic views, and we really enjoyed our stay in the peaceful surroundings. Although it’s located at the end of a very narrow lane, the property was still easy to find.On arrival, the house was clean and tidy. The information folder, however, was tucked away amongst other books and pamphlets — it would have been helpful if it had been left out somewhere more obvious, and it could do with being brought up to date.Overall, this is a beautiful cottage in a secluded setting with fabulous views, and we would definitely stay again

Road is challenging and directions out of date as shop in village closed 6 years ago. Cottage itself is delightful with amazing views and lovely garden. Walk to Cleddon Shoots closed due to a tree fallen down.

This is an old, tired cottage set on the side of a steep hill, with a lovely garden and view. The host does provide clear communication. The cottage has stone floors and latch gate doors, an old and narrow wooden staircase up to two bedrooms and small, tired bathroom. There is no fire escape (that we could find) from the upstairs, not that this has ever bothered us in the past at other properties but here it felt worrying. It does have central heating but has a musty/smokey fire smell throughout. The approach to the cottage is extremely narrow and would put less confident drivers off. Walks from the cottage are steep up or down. There are no local amenities. There are many positive reviews about this cottage, which we had relied upon, but sadly it just wasn’t for us. We do understand that this an old cottage and that some people would enjoy this type of property - we hope this information helps you decide.
