We were very happy with our stay. The home was clean and very wellappointed. It had everything we needed for a brief stay including a very relaxing outdoor space out back. The tree-lined streets in the neighborhood were perfect for a morning or evening stroll. We were very pleased.

This is a true gem. Located in a real quiet and nice neighborhood the craftsman home was perfect for us. Every detail has been thought of. Comfortable two bedrooms up and down with own bathrooms. It was perfect for two couples. We could sleep in or not and not bother the other couple. Close to everything. Anita is a responsive host. By far the best we have experienced.

This lovely little gem tucked into a picturesque and walkable neighborhood of tree-lined streets was the perfect fit for our short Denver visit. We loved its lush private garden, the lovely flowering vine landscaping, thoughtful touches and amenities throughout. The home itself is well appointed and beautifully cared for, fully expressing its historical charm without fussiness. The basement area was a delightful and comfortable surprise upon our arrival, which greatly increased the home's living space by two additional beds, living & dining area and full bath. We have been missing it ever since we left!

We found the bed comfortable, and the kitchen stoked with all the dishes and kitchen equipment we needed.
We loved the windows and light in the dining room kitchen area.
This home is in a quiet neighborhood, close to but NOT in downtown Denver.

We are so pleased you enjoyed our home. We make every possible effort to make sure that our guests are comfortable.
I meant to block off the week you booked, it was an oversight on my part. We were very busy finishing up the new window installation. It took a little longer than anticipated. Instant booking did not allow communication so it was impossible to convey that we had not intended to book.
We apologize again that we did did not have the barbecue working, as you know there was a blizzard just before your arrival and snow on the ground when you checked in. In any case, we usually setup the outdoor area in May. We also thought it unlikely that anyone would be entertaining in the back yard during this time. We were happy that you found it easy to move things inside.
I did not know your preference was a downtown location. Our property description states, near downtown and 3.7 miles from city center. Although we are in the Denver City limits, we are not downtown. Instant Booking makes it difficult to clear up any misunderstandings before booking. And, as you know, it also prevents modifying or correcting errors in the booking process.
I am also a little bit confused. as in your correspondence it was important for you to be near your children who just moved to the Park Hill area. Mr. McQueen stated how delighted he was to be within walking distance to the grandchildren. So I’m not sure if you wanted to be downtown or thought your children had moved closer to down.
We could tell that your grandchildren enjoyed our home too. We are happy that you felt so comfortable in your stay. Although it takes our staff a bit longer to return things to where they belong, we have things out so they can be enjoyed and we appreciate when guests take care of the things in our home. Sometimes with children and pets it takes a while to remove stains from the furniture. But in the end it’s mostly managed.
I’m sorry that our description regarding downtown wasn’t more clear. And regrettably we didn’t live up to your expectations. Hopefully next time you will find something more suitable to your expectations.

Lovely Vintage Home
I loved this home. I am not sure when the home was built but the whole neighborhood is charming. We found the home comfortable. cozy, and decorated nicely. Our daughter moved to Denver last May and we were so fortunate to find a home for 3 nights that was just a few blocks from where she lives. The fenced yard was an added plus. My two dogs enjoyed the freedom of having a yard. I hope to be able to stay here another time.

Family Visit
Great Location! The home was very clean and welcoming. Easy to access from airport. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. The Kitchen trash can lid does not work. The driveway was icy to walk on. We could have used some ice melt and snow shovel where the sun doesn't hit.

Not a great rental
- Unkempt view in front with one awning blown off and dead leaves swirling around entry door.
- entry lock was very hard to work; had to leave house unlocked 3 days because could not throw the deadbolt.
- Light was too dim for any reading except over kitchen table.
- quilt and pillow covers on beds not guaranteed to be washed clean.
- upstairs mattress was too soft and run down.
- very discouraging have Evolve interfere as a managing agent.
What was good:
- the place seemed clean inside
- the heat system worked

Owner's response: "Rebecca, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you.
- The front porch awnings are not blown off they are removed every Winter and reinstalled each Spring
- We do not provide daily outdoor maintenance because the wind blows a lot in the Winter and there are leaves, we would never come inside if we tried to keep the leaves away
- All of the lights have dimmer switches on them when you raise the dimmer it gets bright, this is convenient for guests who want a special ambiance, we have never had any complaints about this
- Our cleaners do a very good job and all the linens are clean and in very good condition
- While the mattress is only 4 years old, we know that mattress preference is unique to each guest, we do provide a top-of-the-line mattress beauty rest top
- We provide instructions for door operation next to the door but we have not had anyone who complained that it was hard to work, we're sorry for the inconvenience, we do understand that Naomi stopped by to help with the lock but they did not hear back from you so thought all was ok
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to strive for the 5-star experiences we know we can deliver."

Great location, cute home!
My family of four and I really enjoyed our stay here. We were close to museums, parks, etc. I am a runner, so I loved to neighborhood for that as well. Straight, flat roads with plenty of shade and beautiful horns to look at.
The house was stocked with pretty much anything one would need. We prepared many meals at the house. The kitchen even had a variety of spices in hand.
Our only grievance was the lack of AC. When we arrived on our first day, it was very hot and stuffy in the house ( 4 pm). We immediately turned on the evaporating coolers, even using ice, but it was very hard to get the house cool that evening, even with windows open as suggested by the owner. Most other nights we were able to keep the house cool.
It was a bit of a bummer that the owner’s instructions were that the coolers need to be off when you leave the house. Most days we returned to a stuffy house after running around all day. It would’ve been nice to return to a cool home after being exhausted. I’m sure the coolers are effective most months of the year, but we came in July.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable, excellent water pressure in the showers, and plenty of storage for clothes and whatnot.

Thank you for your review. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Park Hill Holly House.
The heat wave in Denver continues. We had a little reprieve yesterday but the temperatures are expected to rise again. The week you were here was one of the hottest on record. I imagine everyone was feeling the heat. Our little 1923 Bungalow can get stuffy when it is closed up. And, you are correct we do request that you close up the house and turn off the fans when you are leaving for extended periods of time. This is a safety practice in our own daily routine. We live here in the home. And we practically move out when we travel to give our guests the most access possible to enjoy our home as we do when we are here.
I am sorry I didn’t share all of the tips in air flow. This custom designed bungalow was designed for very nice airflow when temperatures cooled after mid-day thunder showers and when windows could be left open all day. We have adapted. We are very experienced at controlling the airflow in our home and perhaps I have to be a clearer on explaining how we do it to minimize any discomfort. I apologize that my instruction was incomplete. We try very hard to be available when issues arise. We have repeat guests that have found ways to move the portable units around to their comfort level so I wasn’t aware of the issue until your review. I wish you would have given a text or a call and we may have been able to help you mitigate the issue. My apologies.
We try very hard to make the stay at Park Hill Holly House a wonderful experience. We love our home, the unique environment it has to offer and the wonderful location. We take a lot of pride in our efforts to share our experience here with others. I apologize that your level of discomfort could not be addressed during your stay.

Holly House is a charming, clean, and comfortable house in the family friendly neighborhood of Park Hill. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance to the house. The rental is very convenient to City Park, downtown Denver and the Denver Botanical Garden.

Owner was very communicative. Olave is immaculate love the 2 nice bedrooms one main level one Down stairs. Plenty of towels and such. Left us alone. Nice patio. No central ac but lord of small portable ac’s but that was the only negative. Very nice I’d stay again!
