Buffalo Mountain Getaway Cottage Il n'y a pas de place comme Ă  la maison, sauf ici.

Bienvenue à Buffalo Mountain Getaway, un chalet de deux étages nichée prÚs de la montagne Buffalo dans le comté de Floyd, Virginie. Les propriétaires Bradley et Pat Vaughn, ainsi que leur fille Kyra, sont à quelques minutes pour que votre séjour soit agréable. Séjournez dans notre chalet magnifiquement décoré et profiter d'un peu de goût du pays. Les planchers de bois franc d'origine ont été restaurés et le bain mis à jour. La chambre principale comprend un lit queen, tandis que l'autre chambre à l'étage principal accueille une pleine grandeur. A l'étage il y a une autre pleine grandeur, ainsi que des lits jumeaux pour les plus petits.

Notre ferme est Ă  la maison Ă  notre exploitation vache-veau et a Ă©tĂ© le lieu de la maison originale de Garver et Minnie Vaughn, grands-parents de propriĂ©taire, Bradley Vaughn. Les Vaughn ont Ă©levĂ© leurs enfants Ă  Burks Fork avec d’autres oncles, tantes, cousins ​​et amis.

NOTES IMPORTANTES: Comme il s’agit d’une ferme en activitĂ© et que cette maison a Ă©tĂ© construite dans les annĂ©es 1940, il ya des moments oĂč le temps passe de chaud Ă  froid et oĂč les mouches ont tendance Ă  apparaĂźtre. Nous faisons de notre mieux pour les tenir Ă  distance, mais sachez qu'il y en a peut-ĂȘtre. Nous sommes heureux de venir les nettoyer si vous en avez besoin. Nos excuses.

This was the perfect cottage for my girls getaway with my mother and sister. The house was clean and spacious, and the property was beautiful. We loved seeing the cows grazing nearby. It was an easy drive into Floyd and a great base for exploring the area. Next time, we’ll stay longer.

Peaceful Stay at Buffalo Mountain Getaway

I can’t imagine a place more quiet and peaceful as the Buffalo Mountain Getaway. It’s very isolated location amongst the farms make this a special place . It’s very spacious inside the farm house so you have plenty of room for a family. Of course, the porch is the center piece of the house where many good conversations and memories are created .

Very Relaxing Environment

We were four guys staying for one night. This place was quiet and clean. We made use of the bbq and kitchen. The scenery is really nice and the communication with the host was excellent. Sorry we didn’t turn on the dishwasher before we left.

Peaceful, Beautiful Retreat

We really enjoyed staying at this house. We had everything we needed on the main floor (two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom). We enjoyed the front porch and outside sitting area. Although it was in the middle of a cow farm, we found the scenery breathtaking. We didn't really didn't notice any overpowering odor or inconvenience from the cows. Hope to visit again!

Great location if you're looking for a quite, peaceful vacation.

Rented it as a 2 bathroom house and only had 1 bathroom due to plumbing issues. Disappointed about that with 4 adults and only 1 shower - had to take a number!

Our Annual Birthday Retreat

We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful country side. We were greeted by a momma cow and her calf when we first arrived and our toddlers loved it! We spent the evenings around the fire pit and moved into the living room in the basement to play board games. We also loved sitting on the front porch in the morning. The steps made a perfect spot to take a family photo.

Camp drop off/ Anniversary

We celebrated our 30th Anniversary with a 2 night stay at Buffalo Cottage. This is our second visit to the cottage and found it just as clean and peaceful as last year. The wildlife was even more entertaining this year as its fawning season. This year we had plenty of time to go hike up Buffalo Mountain - the views are gorgeous and you can see this cottage from the top. Enjoyed watching the baling of the hay, farm cats and cattle with calves this visit as well. We'll be back! Thank you!

Men's Retreat

Four guys friends get together in a quiet location to catch up, relax, and disconnect from the outside world. The home and property are excellent and well worth the drive. Absolutely lovely.

Wonderful, relaxing place to stay that is truly away from it all. Beautiful views outside with a great front porch to enjoy it from. Inside was nicely decorated and the beds were comfy. Overall just right.

Mountain farm life

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is comfortably appointed, the views are beautiful, the property is fun and the owners are responsive and helpful. We enjoyed meeting the cows and having a wonderful relaxing time while still being close enough to the Floydfest location. Perfect!

We purchased the home and farm from family in 2003. Since that time we have spent most of our efforts on the farm, rebuilding fences, building barns, etc. In 2015 the time came to remodel the cottage. What fun and treasures we found. The headboard in 'Hidden Quiet', on of the upstairs bedrooms, was the original door between the living room and the kitchen. The platters on the wall in the dining area were old trays found in the attic. You'll even find two of the old windows from the house that are now beautiful works of art, thanks to our friend Cappy Spangler. We tried to reuse as much of the furniture as we could. So, with a little elbow grease, paint and fabric, we are pleased with the results. Overall the restoration was a journey back through Garver and Minnie's lives. A gift we will always treasure.

Est. 2015 -- Welcome to Buffalo Mountain Getaway, a vacation cottage nestled near the Buffalo Mountain in Floyd County, VA. Stay in our beautifully decorated cottage and enjoy a little taste of the country. Situated on a real working beef farm, you're most likely to have a few of our residents checking you out as well. We operate the Buffalo Mountain Cattle Company, specializing in Chiangus Beef. Our farm is home to our cow-calf operation and was the original home place of Garver and Minnie Vaughn, grandparents to owner, Bradley Vaughn. Bradley farms full time, taking care of more than 600 acres of land and 85 breed cows. Most of the cows have names and though they are born to breed, they are also family. A few of our favorites include Minnie, Socks, Spot, America and of course Ms. Hazel, named after Bradley's mother. We have 4 bulls, all of Chiangus Purebred stock. Danicus, Bolagrius, Leonitus and Fletcher live a life of leisure and are fairly calm. They can be a little cantankerous during breeding, but for the most part are gentle giants.

o Trout Fishing – Buffalo Mountain Getaway is located on Burks Fork Creek, a stocked trout stream where fishing is available year round.
o Catfish Fishing -- Buffalo Mountain Getaway also includes a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill and crappies. It's one mile away at our home. Not the first pond you see, but the second at 2339 Burks Fork Rd
o Hike Buffalo Mountain – Once you reach the summit, you'll enjoy views from Virginia to North Carolina.
o Meet the Animals – Buffalo Mountain Getaway is part of the original Vaughn Farm and is home to more than 150 head of beef cattle and a few barn cats that love the attention, if you can get them to slow down long enough.
