Renter beware: AC didn't work, and there's been no follow-through

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Sunshine Inn from 8/31 to 9/5 with our two kids, including a 5-week-old baby. Air conditioning is listed as an amenity, but it didn't work. The main floor never got below 78°F and the upstairs bedrooms stayed above 80°F, so we couldn't use the bedrooms at all. My wife and the baby slept in the living room, and my son and I slept downstairs. When we first reported the problem, we were told the system was working fine. The staff later confirmed in writing that the outdoor unit needed a part that wouldn't arrive until after our stay. They offered to let us leave a night early, and we did. We raised the refund in person and by text before checking out, then followed up in writing. More than a month later, we still haven't heard back.Equipment can break, and we understand that. What disappointed us was being told at first that nothing was wrong, and then getting no response about making it right. Renter beware: if you're booking here in warm weather, confirm the AC is working before you arrive, and get any refund promises in writing.

There are wagons, beach chairs, toys, etc. in the garage that we enjoyed using.

Great living areas! Sleeps a lot, but you will be crowded.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the living areas in this home. Lots of space for everyone. Rest of the layout felt a little awkward, like everyone staying in the upper level had to use bathroom in master suite. Our biggest disappointment was with getting problems addressed. The remote for one of the TVs was missing, and we made several requests to get one and were told it had to be ordered. Amazon would've delivered one the same day! Ceiling fan in middle bedroom was not working, and this room got uncomfortably warm at night and was never fixed. There was a lot of stuff under the couch cushions; vacuuming would be a good idea. Be very careful on front porch. There is no railing on one side, and you can step or fall off the side onto the concrete steps. Please find a way to provide wagons and chairs for guests. Bringing your own takes up a lot of space in the car.

Amazing Family and Friend Weekend Getaway!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented Sunshine Inn for the weekend, and it was everything we wanted and more! The house was located in this super cute, family-oriented neighborhood literally a block away from the beach. The area had outdoor activities and security that patrolled at night--which we thought was a nice perk. The house was perfect for my group of 15 because we had lots of space and were able to easily cook/grill in the kitchen and outdoor patio deck. We just wanted a place where we could hang out and relax, so we spent most of our time on the deck and the beach! A lot of the houses nearby were pretty cool too, as each house seemed different (i.e. we noticed some groups enjoyed bonfires on their front yard, each house was named/different color, etc). Everyone had such a great time, and we would definitely stay in the area again!

A Wonderful House in the Sunshine

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was so much more than we expected. The pictures don't do it justice! The second level (general living space) had more than enough space to accommodate our group of 13 and was surrounded by windows and filled with natural light. The sleeping spaces were comfortable and were separated nicely on each level. Beachwalk is an adorable and inviting community. I can't say enough good things about The Sunshine Inn and the Beachwalk community. Rent it! You won't regret it!

Sunshine Inn

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Sunshine Inn was serviceable, but had some odd characteristics to it. The streaming TV was very limiting and rarely worked, the curtains on all the windows were half the size of the windows, so the sun crept into the room at 6am, the master bedroom had a full bed, not a queen or king. In general, the entire house needs updating, including the patio deck. Outside of those items, the house was in a good location, enjoyed the area and close distance to the lake. We enjoyed the ammenities the community offers. Management company was very responsive when the hot water heater broke (fixed very next day).

Hi there! Happy to report that after a long hiatus, Sunshine Inn is back on the rental market, with a brand new deck and porch, all newly remodeled main floor & kitchen, and majorly upgraded streaming TVs, among many other changes. And of course, all of the same Beachwalk Resort amenities, included a new clubhouse, basketball court, toddler pool & splash pad, and activity dock with kayaks & paddle boats. We hope to see you back again soon!
