The house was comfortable and welcoming. We were a family from grandad to PS kids. Great that there was another sitting room that the kids could play in. Kitchen was well equipped and the 2 fridges were appreciated. Log burner was lively but not really needed for extra heat. Host had left a welcome pack of basics, wine and christmas goodies. Thank you. XSeahouses is a wonderful wee town. We walked on the beach, kids played on the dunes and we wowed at the wild seas. We couldnt go for a sea dip but used the leisure centre pool as cottage had a membership. Town had a fireworks dispal on hogmonay and as house was just a few minutes walk from the shore road we had an easy walk to get a fantatsic view. Great pubs and shops . Really interesting coast. Waether was cold and seas wild we had a wee short lived power cut and host messaged us to make sure we were ok. Will definitely visit this coast again. Didnt see a fraction of what is on offer.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at mayflower cottage. It’s a lovely house in a great location for the beach and a 15 minute walk into Seahouses. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways in the town. The house itself has everything you need and the welcome basket was much appreciated. The beds are very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with crockery etc, and there were plenty of logs for the log burner. The garden is quite small but ample if you just need somewhere for dogs to have an outside space. A few updates to the decor and bathrooms would make this house a 10/10.

What a wonderful family home, we have had the best 3 days celebrating my 50th birthday with our family, 11 of us in total. So much space with a very well equipped kitchen. The most comfortable beds, hairdryers, straighteners etc, everything has been thought of to ensure a perfect stay. Communication has been great, Natalie has responded to my messages straight away and has been so accommodating. We will certainly return. Thank you

Mayflower Cottage Seahouses

What an amazing property in a fantastic location. The house had plenty of living space downstairs and there were ample beds and combinations for our family. We had a jam packed weekend walked to Bamburgh castle and caught the bus back to Seahouses. We went crabbing at Beadnell bay. We had a boat trip to the Farne Islands and played crazy golf so there is plenty to do locally.

The Perfect Holiday!

The house is a perfect size for our family, and there is plenty of room to spread out. This is our third visit! The owner and housekeeper respond to any queries immediately. It is so convenient for the beach, the harbour and the shops! And as an added bonus the weather was amazing! We had a trip to the Farnes, and visited Warkworth Castle. Several sessions on the beach, including a glorious day on Bamburgh beach. The children loved the playground at Alnwick Castle and enjoyed swimming at the Ocean Club. And what’s a holiday if you don’t go on the slots!? There is so much to do in the area. Thank you!

Family get together

Very spacious property, loved the open plan living area. Children enjoyed having their own sitting room. Very well equipped for the number of people and a very generous welcome pack. Lots of extras like fishing nets and the emergency box. All the bedrooms comfortable and good size. A few small improvements Not enough breakfast cereal bowls. Had to use pasta bowlsElectric shower in bathroom malfunctioned Shower in en-suite wouldn’t stay in position - kep drooping Could not get the television in small sitting room to work. Would not connect to BT boxVelum blind in upstairs twin bedroom didn’t open correctly. We had a wonderful family weekend in spite of the weather. The location was excellent and so close to the beach. The house was so well equipped from everything you needed in the kitchen to plenty of games etc to keep everyone amused, and plenty of space as well. We will definitely come back again.

Christmas family Getaway

Amazing property for 4 generations of our family. Fabulous location with great views and lots of little extras included. The property is spacious but also offers cosy warmth and comfort.

Great house for larger groups

This was our second stay at the property. It's fabulous for larger group with plenty of space and it's really well equipped. It could do with a little refresh here and there but that wouldn't stop us booking again.

Great break in a beautiful house

The house is great, really well set up for a big family group with a fantastic kitchen and shared spaces. The location by the beach was perfect and access to the swimming pool was really fun. The instructions to get in to the pool were a bit tricky, but easily managed.

Detached house in Seahouses

The house is on a small estate on the outer edge of Seahouses. so a bit of a walk into the town, but great pubs and eateries when you get there. a very spacious ground floor area, with separate laundry area. plenty of soft seating, as well as dining seating. The bedroom layout would be more suitable for a family gathering than we nine mature friends sharing, as one bedroom had bunk beds, another had twin beds and no wardrobe/hanging area, so it would be more suitable for children than adults, and on the top (second floor) floor you had to go through a twin room to reach the shower room.

Ten of us who, having had a 50th anniversity reunion of our student friendships three years ago, decided that 50 years was too long, and we now do it every year. From as far afield as Southern Spain and Aberdeen! Northumberland was new to us all, and we had a great time.

Great family get together!

The property was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It was perfect for a family group. Pleasant 15 min walk along the sand dunes into Seahouses and great surrounding area to explore by car. Craster, taking in the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle was one of our highlights. Highly recommended!
