A wonderful vacation home with a warm and wonderful host. The vacation home is spacious, very tastefully furnished, and the view, the grounds, and the countryside are breathtaking. As an added bonus, there are sheep grazing in the pastures behind the house. An all-around wonderful vacation.

Wonderful hosts and a fabulous location

Claire & Gavin are probably the best hosts we've encountered in our travels. They were always there when their help was needed (but never when it wasn't) and went more than the extra mile when we wrote our car off in the area. The property was wonderful and the location to die for

    Excellent location and lovely accommodation

Myself and my wife stayed at Vorlich Cottage for 6 wonderful nights in October 2020. Beautiful location - close to Balloch (you can walk in and it's a lovely loch side walk which takes you through the Balloch Castle Groubds). Cottage is spotless and furnished to a very high standard. Too floor has lovely views overlooking the tennis courts. only 20 metres from the cottage are views across the loch, which are beautiful. Claire was very welcoming and provided useful information about the area. Would highly recommend Vorlich and will stay again!

Simply beautiful. This place is gorgeous and has everything you could need for a relaxing, comfortable, self catering stay. Owners are on site but not intrusive. Friendly and helpful if required. Geese, sheep, the odd deer and a lovely spaniel who keeps and eye on things. Surrounded by gorgeous woodland with views of the loch and mountains it is simply breath taking. Fresh air, no people, this is a precious haven and we would love to return.

Excellent accommodation. Well equipped with everything you need for an extended stay. Description and photos are accurate. Nice gardens with a lovely elevated seating area with expansive loch views - perfect for an evening wine or chilling back with a book. Claire is a responsive host. Hiking trails from the property. Short drive into Balloch which is a pretty town with all facilities. Pictures will never do it justice

My son and I stayed at Vorlich Cottage as part of our Scotland trip. It is off the beaten path, which is just what we were looking for. Driving into the property you are just astounded by the natural beauty of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The owners could not have been more welcoming. The cottage is so comfortable and perfectly situated. We had all we needed and then some. The location was perfect for hikes and for a base to set out for other explorations. There are nearby shops so you can eat in or great restaurants near for dining out. We were sad to leave such a magical place. Vorlich Cottage was such a special place to stay. We can honestly say this has been our best trip.

    Get Away for Four

Claire's home was the perfect get away for us two couples. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and privacy. The beds were very comfortable and everything about the apartment was welcoming and cozy. Claire left a bottle of wine and some snacks as a welcoming gift. We had a little difficulty finding the property as it is way down a private drive in the country but it was exactly what we wanted--away from everything else with beautiful views of Loch Lomond. The kitchen had everything we needed and the upstairs sitting room with the wood burning stove warmed is up on a chilly, wet evening. I would definitely stay here again.

After the stunning view over Loch Lomond at arrival we got surprised by a warm welcome of the landlord and also a nice surprise in the house. We could feel the warmth to make our stay special. You find everything you need, including all information around the place, e.g. restaurants. All recommendations were exactly as described and worth visiting. You also find a guidebook to find all information, whatever you need. The stunning view every evening after returning from amazing tours in the area has helped us to relax and feel so good. We had a great time

The cottage is lovely, with splendid views over Loch Lomond. From the garden you have Ben Lomond in front of you. And sometimes the Ben is gone if there is Scottish drizzle around. The walks nearby are very good, with stunning views on the way. The walk into Balloch is worthwhile, have a nice lunch in Balloch and walk back. Claire is a good and welcoming host. She gave good information, and she is nearby if you need help, but respects the guest privacy at the same time. The cottage inside has everything you need, with nice areas to choose from with nice views again, with welcoming sweets. Lots of birds around, and we spotted a deer on our walk back from Balloch. We will come back when we come over from the Netherlands and choose this area again in Scotland. Thx Clair.

What is this life, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.

If you want to step off the treadmill and take time out for many ‘stand and stare’ moments Vorlick Cottage is the place for you. We had a very relaxing stay due mainly to its location - it’s fabulous. The view onto Loch Lomond, and its surrounding fells and Bens is captivating. Lucky with the weather (early April) we sat outside most evenings (wrapped up warm) in the Christmas tree wood in the garden watching the changing colours of the loch and fells as the light changed. With only the sound of wind in the trees, chinking glass, lambs and their mother’s bleating, birds’ chorus, and the odd thwack of balls on racquets, until the chill drove us back into the warmth and comfort of the cottage. There can’t be many tennis courts with a view like this! The cottage’s quality of decor, furnishings and beds are excellent, we slept very well. Claire our host, was very welcoming and we followed her suggestion for a peaceful walk through the private estate, joining Balloch country park by Loch Lomond and into the hustle and bustle of tourism. Only there for four nights on our way north we ventured out each day to the usual attractions, but we couldn’t wait to get back to Vorlick Cottage.

We loved our stay at Vorlich cottage. It's got everything you need (thank you to Claire for the thoughtful welcome treats) to have a fabulous stay in The Trossachs. The location and views are spectacular and well placed for trips into the Trossachs national park and surrounding area. We hope to come back another time soon!

Thank you for your lovely review. I'm delighted you both had such a fab stay here and enjoyed all that the gorgeous Loch Lomond area has to offer. Thank you for choosing Vorlich Cottage for your getaway and leaving it so spick and span. We'd love to see you again, it was a pleasure having you to stay.
