The St Mary's Street Residence

Cet appartement est très confortable et situé à quelques mètres du célèbre Royal Mile d’Édimbourg. Au 1er étage, cet appartement charmant et lumineux comprend une chambre avec un lit double de taille standard et un canapé-lit double dans le salon. L'appartement comprend un salon séparé, une cuisine séparée, une salle de bain avec douche et bain court et un grand patio commun à l'arrière.

Les pubs, les discothèques, les cafés et restaurants sont à une minute à pied de cette ville historique. Le Royal Mile est situé au cœur des principaux sites d’Édimbourg, tels que le château d’Édimbourg, Mary King's Close, St. La cathédrale de Giles, le palais de Holyrood, The Witchery, le Parlement écossais et les principales galeries et musées écossais, dont le Whisky Heritage Museum. Il est également facilement accessible à pied du principal quartier commerçant d'Édimbourg, Princes Street.

Des bus touristiques à toit ouvert sont également facilement accessibles à pied depuis la gare de Waverley. L'ancien Royal Yacht Britannia mérite une visite au Ocean Terminal de Leith. Plus loin, en quelques heures de voyage, vous pourrez visiter St. Andrews, patrie du golf, et visiter les hauts plateaux d’Écosse, notamment le Loch Ness et la romantique île de Skye.

Immaculate! Great location! Near a lot of Old Town activities snd restaurants. Great water pressure and temp in shower. Shower could use some caulking. It would greatly improve the look of the bathroom. The lock box was also very hard to open. Worried us at first. Loved getting a glimpse into Scottish apt. living!! Highly recommend!

It was a great experience!

Our stay in the apartment was very nice. The location is great, hard to beat: everything within walking distance. The accommodation was as described, well equipped and cozy. We felt very comfortable here!

Comfortable and great location

Our family (2 adults and kids aged 8 and 6) had a great stay here. The location was fantastic. It is close to everything and was so nice to be able pop back in anytime the kids needed a break.

Perfect location

Needs a few repairs but it was still very cozy and the location is amazing. The owner is very friendly. If I had the opportunity(which I hope I do) I would stay again.

Location is brilliant- within walking distance to all the tourist hot spots. Apartment is as described however the entry stairwell is poorly lit and a trip hazard. We had issues when we first arrived which were not responded to by host for over 24 hours. Apartment has, as described, " old worldly charm" - open to interpretation. Great to have a seperate living area as bedroom was cluttered with unused fold out beds. Also only 1 window could be opened so ventilation was an issue.

The entry stairwell is outside of the property and not within our control, but we do encourage guests to take care when using it. We hope future guests can see that the apartment is accurately described in the listing and provides a comfortable base for exploring Edinburgh.

Best possible location

This property is a few steps from the Royal Mile and about halfway between Edinburgh Castle and Holyroodhouse. It couldn’t be more perfect. One thing to note is that the first floor in the UK is at the top of a flight of stairs. We didn’t expect that but it’s standard here.

A Nice Flat in an Ideal Location

This flat is in an ideal location for travelers looking to explore areas on and around the Royal Mile. An easy walk to and from Waverley, with luggage. About a half block walk and you are on the Royal Mile. The flat has all of the comforts one needs while traveling. One flight of stairs and you are at the door. Easy in and out. The bedroom is away from the street so if there is a light sleeper, road noise is inaudible, and there isn’t much noise anyway. It suited our needs completely.

Excellently located apartment close to Royal Mile

Nice size apartment for me and my adult daughter. Daughter slept on the sofa bed in the front room. Mattress was thin, according to my daughter. Apartment was clean, however aged. Floor in the hallway was very uneven. Was very nice to have separate rooms for sleeping, and the kitchen was separate from the front room, so both of us could sleep in without disturbing the other in the morning. Excellent location, 1 block from the Royal Mile. Close to restaurants and sight seeing.

The position of the apartment was terrific, being close to the train station and the Royal mile. The communication was very good and clear in relation to the keyed entry. The bathroom was clean and the water hot. We walked everywhere and the area was very safe. Disappointing was the old dusty carpet and grotty stairwell. I was surprised to have to strip the bed of linen and find old duvet and mattress cover. For the price a hotel stay would have been a similar price, with better linen, towels etc.

Super Convenient!

We found this property to be very convenient to all of the things that we were looking to do while in Scotland. We were just steps from the Royal Mile and about halfway between Holyrood and Edinburgh Castle. We were able to walk to and from the airport tram with our luggage and catch the train at Waverley Station two of the mornings. We also could walk to the Rabbies office for our day tour to the highlands. One of the reasons tha twe had gone to Edinburgh was to check out the University, and we were able to walk from campus to our flat very easily as well. Everything was clean and easy to use! I would recommend this place to someone else who wants a good starting point for their day.

Apartment is nice. Building is not nice.

I would not stay here again. We had a trash heap of old bicycles with rotted tires and other crap just outside of our door. And from the smell it seems cats would occasionally make their way in thru a broken window of a door to an outside landing and pee somewhere in the hallway. The apartment itself is not bad and seemed well kept. Good hot water. Nice kitchen. Bathroom fan needs some work.

just one problem

Property OK, but there is a big problem with the internet - it is very slow, too slow for the television, which relies on it. I spoke to Catrina, who was very unhelpful. Slow internet and no tv unacceptable in 2023.
