My husband, three-year-old daughter and I stayed in this home for two months, It is ideally situated both within France (central to either coast, close to autoroute and other highways) and within Trèbes, where food, entertainment and practical amenities are all within an easy walk. We frequented the local bakery, butcher, fishmonger, wine bar Les vignes de Bacchus and restaurant Le Pasteur quite often. This house is in a very friendly historical neighbourhood and provides excellent cycling access to either the Canal du Midi or the many local and regional highways for road cycling. The owners and their family are extraordinarily welcoming, relaxed knowledgeable and French-English bilingual. They will not steer you wrong in terms of suggestions on food, drink, music and entertainment for adults and children alike. The house was well-maintained with fascinating history and architecture and I would recommend it for children aged 2.5 and older. Trebes as a city has a charming Sunday morning market, basic but friendly public pool, welcoming public library and provides easy access to both the Corbières and Minervois wine regions and their many historic sites, beautiful villages and fun festivals. Thank you to owners Marc and Lydie and their family for being a huge highlight of our trip. À la prochaine!
