Excellent stay!!!

The view was outstanding, would recommend this unit. Close to 5th, with all the restaurants but also on the beach with great views. It's quiet and has the conveinence of having the kitchen by the pool. Perfect family vacation.

Beautiful stay!

We loved our time in Playa! This property is beautifully maintained and spacious for our whole family. Front desk staff and property owner were easily accessible and very helpful. We’ll be returning soon!

We had a very nice time at Luna encantada , very friendly staff and located just a few minutes from ferry to Cozumel and 5th avenue .Very convenient walk distance to Walmart to do groceries . Sargazo was very bad at this time of the year . Hopefully it will change .

Awesome accomodations

Had a great time with family at this location. Walked out to pool and beach. It was also around the corner from 5th street which is full of restaurants and stores. Staff is great from check in to security we were taken care of as soon as we arrived. It was nice to know we could store our luggage before check in and check out! I will definitely book again.

Perfect Location - Great Resort!

We loved being on the ground floor with only steps down to the pool. The condo is convenient to 5th Ave & Walmart - easy shopping, good food, entertainment. Lovely pool looks out over the ocean. When we were there, the ocean was too rough for swimming. (There were surfers out!). Zenzi, restaurant next door, does great take out!

Exactly what I wanted

The condo was exactly what I wanted. Right on the pool and beach for a great scenery. It was relaxing to sit on the back patio any time of day. The location was within walking distance or a short taxi to everything. If convenience is important to you, this is the place.

Nice place, but very noisy!

We enjoyed our stay, the unit is clean and comfortable. However, we arrived 2 hours past check in and our room was just starting to be cleaned. Also, I would highly recommend renting a unit on the top floor...you hear every noise from above you as well as outside.

103 El Faro Coral

The property is great for families or groups. The pool is beautiful, and the location is very convenient. The kitchen is well equipped but could use one more frying pan (there was only one). We liked being able to walk to lots of shops and restaurants from the condo. We also really enjoyed the large patio overlooking the pool. We did wish for some sun chaises, or an outdoor couch as opposed to just chairs. It would have been nice to be able to nap on one on the patio. Our minor complaints regarding the property have to do with the bathrooms. The main bathroom is promoted with a large tub. However, the faucet for this tub barely trickles and makes the tub unusable. The water temperature is also set too low, and the hot water heater isn't big enough for 6 adults to all shower about the same time. Unless you are one of the first two people in the shower, you will be left with a cool shower. The lighting in the main bedroom is also very dim. Overall, it is a nice property, and we were happy with it.

Great view

Coral 103 has the best view of the condos on the ground floor. Pool is right out your door and the beach just steps away. Lots of sun on the patio with a nice table and plenty of chairs. Very quiet location with shopping, restaurants and bars just a block away. Security is very good and very friendly helping us with chairs and umbrellas at the pool and keeping the pool, grounds and beach chairs for El Faro guests only. The condo itself could use some updating and repairs. These updates and repairs didn’t affect our stay but they should be looked at. The master sliding glass door is very hard to open, only 2 outlets(that I could find in the master) one was loose and possibly broken and the other is behind the bed and difficult to use. Shower could use a facelift and the WiFi is only usable inside even sitting on the patio the WiFi won’t work. Kitchen area could use a little TLC but all these items are easily overlooked by the great view, service and location of this condo.

Location is perfect!

Check in was ok -limited English speaking staff made this part 4 stars, instead of 5. Wristbands were given out to wear. While I get the reasoning for this, as a single female walking around with the name of the place I’m staying on my wrist: this is not OK. The condo was beautiful and in the perfect location. Excellent Restaurants were all around within walking distance and the ease of picking up a taxi for other locations was great, as it was on the same block. The property/condo was clean and tidy. Having a washer and dryer inside this condo was the best. Thank you! We did have one thing- upon departing at 4:15am for the airport, when trying to get into our car service, a man ran up to us and again, in limited English kept arguing / yelling that we couldn’t leave without the keys being given to him. Very insistent. To which we explained they were left in the room on the entry table. He was very persistent, so much so that I had to step in between him and a male member of our party. The security guard walked me back to our condo to retrieve them. When I gave them to the man, whom I had not seen prior to this day, he again started in with there were supposed to be three, not the two that were given. At this time, I advised him that I wasn’t going to argue and that he would have to charge me for the key. He just kept on. I advised him I was leaving for the airport and was not going to argue with him. I DO NOT think this is a reflection of any kind on the condo or facilities. I would definitely stay here again But because of the language barrier, this wasn’t handle as best as it could have been. .

Perfect Location

We have been to Playa de Carmen on and off for the last few years and usually stay in Playa Car... we will never again. El Faro and especially Coral 103 are the perfect spot, right in the heart of Playa and quick access to the pool and beach for our 5 year old. Susan was quick to respond before, during and after our trip. We would like to explore other parts of the world, but if we do go back, we will definitely be staying hre.

Things not working

. we had no face towels even after numerous requests 2. the TV's in the rooms did not work there were no batteries in the remote. 3. the Master Bath leaked an entire tub of water on the floor we called the emergency number and could not get any help. We had to use all the towels to clean the water and had none to shower with. 4. I slipped due to the water from the tub and sprang my ankle. 5. the stove top did not work. 6. the light in the Master bathroom did not work.

Great Location/Nice Unit

Nice spacious condo unit just steps to the pool. Unit could use some upgrades to appliances and inspection of unit by management prior to renter arrival needs to be done consistently. Would definitely stay in this same unit again.

Perfect location to ocean and 5th

This property was in the perfect location of Playa De Carmen. Property management and security were great also. Only downside is very spotty Wifi. If you have to get work done it is very slow at best..

Surf 309, Great Apartment with a great view, 3-8 April 2019

El Faro Surf 309 provided excellent value for the price. Great location with a balcony views of both the beach and the pool, with palm trees at eye level. The property was as advertised and the pictures of the apartment on the website definitely do it justice. 2 minute walk to 5th Ave and all the restaurants and bars. Several scuba shops just outside the foyer of the lobby. El Faro, in general, and Surf 309 specifically, will stay on our list of places to return to.

So-So

Over all, El Faro was ok but we had several issues that were never resolved during our stay. This was our second time staying here in as many years. FYI, our first year we had no problems. When we arrived at room 103 the WIFI and cable did not work along with a broken coffee pot. Within a day the coffee pot was replaced and on the third day WIFI was fixed. The cable was never fixed the entire time we were there. One of the six people in the room contacted hand foot and mouth disease from the pool at the resort.(which I'm not sure this is their fault due to what i have read it is running rampant through playa right now) Last but not least, we were told we could do late check out. We were moving our things down the street to another resort for our last three days of the trip so we checked out, locked the room up and grabbed what we could and left a few things that we couldn't grab on the back porch by the pool. We proceeded to carry what we could down the street on 1St (literally a five minute walk) we checked in dropped off what we had and returned to grab the few things we had left on back patio. When we returned the maids had grabbed our things and pulled them back inside and had gone through everything and grabbed what they wanted. They didn't get a lot but it was the principle and we only did what management told us to do. Anyway management tried to make it right by giving us a cheap bottle of tequila which we kindly declined. Two other couples that own a couple units heard our story and tried to help us with what they could so thanks to them. All in all be careful when staying here and just know that there are better options in playa in our opinion.
