Fantastic Vermont get away location, Quiet, spacious, and enough room for family. You can see all the stars at night along with Mountain views in the morning. The gourmet kitchen had everything you need for a family meal and more.

a lovely week in the hills of Vermont

This is a lovely setting, with a house that had so much to offer-a separate cottage in addition to the house, and in the house, different suites and sections that made the house extremely spacious. Always a place to find conversation, or easy to walk to another area to have quiet. Extremely well stocked kitchen as well, with room for several cooks at once to cook.

The home is terrific, but the owner and manager were extremely disrespectful. I do not say this lightly. I have been using VRBO for many years and my record will show me to be an extremely cooperative and caring guest at every location. I have never before been treated so disrespectfully.I don’t want to get into the details and make it a he said, she said. The bottom line is that the manager and owner hectored us like we were children and the owner accused me of dishonesty. When you are paying as much as this for a rental, you should be treated with respect and courtesy. We weren’t. And that really left a bad taste in our mouths.

We’re glad you found the home terrific. The reservation was made for two guests, and that number was confirmed by both the property manager and homeowner before arrival. After an early check-in was accommodated, the party stated that seven or eight guests would be staying, exceeding the home’s six-person maximum. Our communication was limited to addressing that occupancy discrepancy once. The guest replied, ‘Understood. Apologies,’ and no further mention of the guest count was made. We apply occupancy rules consistently to protect the home and ensure reservation details are accurate. With 3,800 square feet on 100 acres, a gourmet kitchen, three fireplaces, and a library, we believe the property offers excellent value, and the home’s broader reviews reflect the experience we work to provide.

Stunning Property

This trip was a "last hurrah" before our youngest of three children heads to college soon. We recently sold a property in this area of Vermont so were familiar with the area and all it has to offer. The home was absolutely gorgeous, expertly appointed and very accommodating for our group of 6. The grounds were something out of a gardening magazine and created a truly magical setting.

Pastoral retreat

As others have said, this place is amazing. So peaceful and quiet. A unique and creatively architected and landscaped home. Well equipped with everything you might need in the kitchen. Working fireplaces. Nestled into the hillside, this home coexists with its beautiful natural surroundings. The caretaker, Brian was very communicative, friendly and down to earth. Would definitely return to Winderlea and would highly recommend to others seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Beautiful and serene!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful 4 night stay! The house was spacious but cozy at the same time. It had everything one would need in terms of cooking and comfort. The house is located in a very peaceful and quiet area. It was a big and welcoming change for our family. The views from the house were incredible! Prior to our stay, Bill the owner and Brian the property manager were in constant contact. Though we did not need to bother them during our stay, I am sure they would not have hesitated to help answer any of our questions or resolve any issues we might have had. I highly recommend this property for your next stay!

BEAUTIFUL BROOKFIELD HOME

We stayed in this lovely and unique home while in Vermont for a family event. The home is just as you see it in the pictures. The property is absolutely beautiful. For us city dwellers it was quite a treat to stay here. It’s quiet and serene. The kitchen has everything you need for food preparation. Every utensil and small appliance you can think of. The master shower has shampoo, conditioner and body wash. And there is liquid hand soap at all of the sinks. The property manager, Brian met us on the day of our arrival. He was very helpful in providing information about the property-how to use the doors, appliances and such. We appreciate him greeting us and walking us through the home. There were just five of us in my party so there was plenty of room for us to spread out-inside and outside. Just a short walk up the road takes you to a hiking path. We enjoyed that. Don’t think twice, just book this place, you will not regret it. Thank you for the stay.

Thank you for the kind words about the property and the land it sits on. We appreciate the feedback on the surrounding area. Being out in the country does mean fewer food options close by, though our house manual lists local restaurants and supermarkets, including a James Beard Award winning Thai spot in the next town, and the kitchen is very well equipped for guests who prefer to cook during their stay. As for the roads, it's true the house sits on a dirt and gravel road and there are others nearby, so an SUV with AWD or 4WD and a bit of extra clearance is a good choice, especially in winter, though most vehicles handle it just fine. We're glad the rest of the stay went smoothly and hope this helps future guests know what to expect.

The home is beautiful inside and the views are incredible.

We love the home which is beautifully furnished and loved the fireplace in the dining room that we used every day. Brian took care of the house and coordinated anything we needed. Nathan and Kathryn made sure the driveway was plowed and helped us learn about the area.

Very large but cozy; nicely detailed. Beauiful blanketed with snow: would love to return and see it in summer with landscape in bloom Property manager, Brian, was great and very hepful on arrival.
