80 degrees in the house at 11:00 PM

The air unit is too small for the house. Brought out 2 cooling units. Did not have television service the entire week we stayed. Reported that at least 3 times. Techs couldn't fix the problem. Ran out of gas for the grill, ruined 200.00 worth of filet mignon steaks. This has been our home away from home for the last 9 years....guess it is time to move!

Beach renovation

While I understand and support the beach renovation, i asked specifically if our house would be affected, was told no by the property manager. however, on Monday night the bulldozers had the beach shut down in front of the house. The property manager stated she could credit us one day, I wanted 2 days or I would leave and that would credit me the rest of the week. They chose to credit me. So we left on Wednesday morning. You would think as a, property manager, you would want to see what the condition of your property’s and beaches are, these people did not until I told them they would be refunding 1/2 of our stay.

Please remember that we sent out several notices regarding the re-nourishment project, it's projected schedule, and the strong possibility for changes and delays. Unfortunately, the project schedule changed several times that week due to equipment failures and weather conditions, as it was originally not supposed to impact your week. Despite the hours of tracking that we put into this, we were at the mercy of the contractor. We are grateful to have a completed new beach that will serve our community for years to come. Fabulous House

Loved it! Soo close to the beach! The open layout is Fabulous! We were a group of 7, plus a sweet spaniel. We enjoyed cooking every night, were very comfortable & loved having the store easy to walk to! The only problem was - we bring our boat to scallop & fish. My husband, who is very practiced and good at backing - had a real struggle getting the boat down the driveway. He had to block both lanes to get the correct angle to straighten and back down. I hope I can convince him it was worth it and stay there again next year!! We have been coming to the Cape for many years and this was all of our favorite house!! If it weren't for the boat we would want to stay there every year.

Great Location

This was a nice house, we all liked the layout. It included two bedrooms on the first floor and two on the second floor. Two of these 4 bedrooms were large enough to be considered master bedrooms. One of them was on the first floor, one on the second. The large first floor bedroom had its own bath, the large second floor bedroom shared a bath with the other second floor bedroom. It also had a nice deck right off the bedroom. Really a great layout for our group of 9 (6 adults, and 3 girls at 17, 14, 3) The kitchen was large and well equipped including some spices and other things to help prepare meals. The deck was one of my favorite places, great views, close to the water and at least partially shaded right up until about 2:00 pm. Plenty of furniture to sit on outside. I was happy to see a very clean and well maintained propane grill, however the burners did not work well and the grill, even with the propane tank valve fully open and all burners set to high, didn’t get any hotter than about 250 degrees. So not really functional as a grill. Some concerns on the property management and maintenance side: • Garbage bins were still full when we arrived on Saturday. • On garbage day (Monday) they dragged the garbage bins out to the main road, about (300 yards) to be emptied, but did not return them. We returned 2 of the 3 bins ourselves on Tuesday afternoon, then Thursday someone returned the third. • The code we were provided for the front door did not work, and after 3 calls answered by an answering machine, we were finally able to talk with someone and get a code. With the late check in time, we didn’t get into the house until almost 5:30 pm. • Access to the unit isn’t allowed until 5:00 pm, which is pretty late when you consider checkout time is no later than 10:00 am. All other units we rented through VRBO had 3:00 or 4:00 for the check in time and allowed guests to go by the property and enjoy the beach while waiting for the unit. This one said specifically not to go to the property at all. • The deck included some steel wire grid integrated into the railing. The grid is heavily rusted in many areas and could cause someone to get cut / scraped if they brushed into it or fell.

Ready for R&R

This property was perfect for much needed R&R. Convenient to local grocery (walking distance) and short drive to restaurants but away from local traffic. Property is steps to the beach. We were pleasantly surprised to find the property had a variety of spices available for meal preparation.

Reviewer Comments: All was good after getting inside, having to wait until 5 PM was not great as it seems we pay for a day that we don't really get to use except to unpack and go to bed.I understand cleaning takes time but they also need to clean the ceiling fan blades once and awhile as they were falling off dusty.The room to the front has no windows and the rain keeps that floor wet to the point of dangerous, this room would be much better used as a laundry room instead of having to continuously having to go up and down the stairs to do laundry which had to be done with you only leaving 1 towel and 1 washcloth per person, that is ridiculous.

Shore Daze/ Cape and Coast Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great Location for a beach trip, not pleased at all with the cleanliness of the home. Owner should know.Shower not cleaned at all previous renters soap still in it and the walls were horrible.We called asked for it to be cleaned while we went to dinner, they came removed soap and that was all,did not clean walls at all. I have pics and wish I could attach. Dishwasher had food splattered all on front and so did cabinet.Master closet and most of the floors had tons of dog hair. We had to vacuum ourselves. Just not the way anyone should find a home when they are paying that kind of money. No internet upon arrival Sat. Got that on Monday. This experience sure did not make me want to use Cape and Coast again, maybe try a different rental company and different home because we love the area. I sure hope the home owners see this because I think they deserve better because they have a beautiful home.

You can't beat being right on the beach.

The house has great potential, but wasn't as clean as I would have liked. The house allows for dogs and while that is good for many, it needs to be cleaned better because of them. The internet is not great and only works in the living room so I wouldn't plan on having internet. We killed several cockroaches in the house and apparently stayed during the worst time for horse flies (and they bite). Luckily, they were only bad for 2 days and we grabbed some repellent at the local store. We had a child under 2 and it was a bit difficult to keep him off the stairs so I would also recommend bringing a gate if you have a climber. There is a gate on the patio leading down to the beach, however there are 3 outdoor steps to get in the house so the patio is not a safe place for littles either. We had issues with our tub draining, the property management company was quick to respond however it wasn't fixed during our stay. The TV was intermittent as well. We called the property management company and they couldn't do much about this issue so we just didn't watch much TV. The kitchen is well stocked. They had everything we needed and more. The grill and picnic tables were an added bonus for outdoor dining. The location is the best part of the property as you are right on the beach and it's so easy to get to the beach with littles which was our #1 priority! The outdoor shower is magical for cleaning little ones and yourself after playing at the beach. You can even watch the sunset while showering.

Truly a Five-Star Rating!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were positively blown away with Shore Daze! We picked this rental based off the online pictures and location. It truly felt more like a home and not a rental which is credit to the owners attention to detail on almost everything. The location is simply the best for spoiling yourself on vacation without having to drive, as it's only a few blocks to tasty morning donuts and daily seafood where we had endless fresh tuna with soy and wasabi that gave us flash-backs of sashimi in Japan. The real reason you want Shore Daze is Gulf Front location with sand hitting your feet as soon as you leave the stairs and the endless sound of waves at night. The only change I can recommend is for a new outdoor grill to match the quality of the home, but I sure loved having the older grill (then no grill) and it came with two propane tanks. We definitely plan on returning. Our two dogs also loved it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great vacation. Housekeeping needs to definitely do better. Good thing I had my own cleaning wipes with me. The guest bathroom toilet looked as if it had not been cleaned having a black water ring in the toilet bowl as well as feces on the toilet seat. The floors also could have been a lot cleaner as well. There was a pile of dirt and sand that had been swept up in a pile in front of the air vent that I had to vacuum up when we arrived.

Large Family Summer Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First the Good: LOCATION IS PERFECT!!! Overall the property was fantastic! It was well stocked with kitchen items. You will not have to bring any extra cooking items! The home is welcoming and spacious and has many upgrades throughout. They did a great job on the outdoor amenities as well! Now for the not so good.... The property has ZERO reception/internet! We called maintenance and they were quick to bring a Hot Spot but that did not work either. If you have to work on your vacations like I do or just want to be able to use your phone to make a call do not stay here. The only other thing I can say is that you pay quite a bit to stay here and you are only provided 1 towel per person, 1 roll of paper towels and 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom for an entire week. The home is for 10 people so obviously that is gone in a day. My only gripe is for the money you pay, the home should come fully stocked with these items so you are not constantly doing laundry or running to the store on your vacation.

Our favorite rental on the cape!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my second stay at Shore Daze and we live it more every time we come to Cap San Blas. Many updates including all of the bathrooms since we first stayed in 2016. The addition of the outdoor shower made washing off from the beach a breeze. Updated kitchen was also a plus. Perfect size for 3 small families with a perfect room for bunking up the kids. We plan on making this our “go-to” spot for years to come! Only small suggestion would be to add/complete a walkway with pavers from the laundry room to avoid tracking in sand while collecting laundry.

Thank you for your suggestion. To update you, pavers will not be needed. Even though Hurricane Michael destroyed the concrete under the house, it has all been replaced and the sand is no longer an issue.

Exceptional home!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented ShoreDaze for a 3 family vacation to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. From the moment we selected ShoreDaze last June 2018, we have received wonderful service from Cape &Coast Vacation Rentals...helpful folks in the office, on-line convenience, and the Hospitality app for information and communication. The house! ShoreDaze is beautifully furnished with beach colors and furniture. The kitchen is incredibly stocked with dishes, pots/pans, appliances and a myriad of utensils! We found the beds to be very comfortable, an important thing on vacation. We loved the newly rebuilt deck and screened porch, but what we really enjoyed was the space UNDER the house. We could set up our chairs and hammocks in the shade and enjoy the breeze. No umbrella or canopy needed. The house is close enough to the water to allow us to watch the kids playing without having to be right on top of them. This was the perfect home for our group of ten (4 kids) and we’re already discussing another stay there! We were with walking distance of The Trading Post, Shoobies, Peachy’s, and the PSJ Shrimp Company, and a 15 minute drive to the State Park for pontoon boat rental and ConeHeads. We were also able to ride horses on the beach.

2019 Cape Beach Trip @ Shore Dazw

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had another great trip to the Cape, Shore Daze is an awesome property, great location, right size house for my family. The recent renovation due to hurricane Michael made coming from the beach into the house very easy and with less sand. We look forward to visiting again.
