Overall the place was great. There were some minor things that could be fixed (kitchen drawer knobs, screen door, etc.) Hard to beat walking out to the beach!

Great Location, Needs Some Work

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoy Cape San Blas, the Coastal Joe team is great, but the house needs some dire repairs and a deep clean. The house is in a great place and decks are great. The carpet and living room furniture needs to be replaced. I’m not snooty but the carpet is very old and smelly. The furniture is dirty and broken. The master shower is needing repaired. The kitchen need a deep clean. I had to clean out the silverware drawer myself. The outside yard is a mess. Banisters were sticky, owner stuff in closets, very few glasses in cabinets. Cabinets were a mess. Building materials and satellite dish debris everywhere in the yard. The house is for sale so glad no one wanted to see it while there. We will be back to CSB and will rent from Coastal Joe again. We won’t be back to this house. Pics on website not true depiction of conditions.

Another Great Week At The Cape

Great location in Cape San Blas

Excellent location in Cape San Blas. Nice home. Furniture is basic family rental stuff so you don't have to worry about it too much if you are bringing kids (I plan to rent this again in the future with my kids and grandkid(s). I would have put the same furniture in the home if I owned and rented it out. Some of the plastic deck chairs had cracks in the arms and back and there were some minor repairs needed like the sliding glass door base plastic was cracked which could catch a child's foot, but overall, the place was a good rental and the location was excellent. SUPER nice management people and responsive to questions, assisted with things to do, etc. I will go back and recommend this to others for a laid back beach trip, PS - my dog LOVED the beach and everone seemed to be cleaning up after and keeping dog hassles to a minimum as we know how special it is to bring our pets with us.

Cape Vacay

The location and layout of the house is great, and we love the Cape San Blas area. However, the cleanliness of the house itself was definitely lacking, and the furniture was very stained and needed cleaning. The house is well stocked and the staff was great. Unfortunately, the washer and dryer were both broken so we were unable to wash/dry clothes. They did deliver a new washing machine on Friday, but the dryer had not been repaired so still unable to wash. If the house/furniture had been clean, and the washer & dryer had been in working order, we would have rated the house a 5. I believe the rental property could be significantly enhanced with much more extensive cleanings and a few updates.

Bad choice for our rental house

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we first rented this house last year we heard that it had a mouse problem. We frequently checked with Coastal Joe and they said it was solved. When we checked in last Saturday we noticed in the washer/dryer area a smell and found a dead rat in a trap which proved they still have issues. Found holes in the wood outside that had been plugged but some that had not. The guy that came to get rid of the rat said it was a field mouse and a protected specie lol. The house was also dirty, found a contact lens in one bedroom floor which was proof they never vacuumed before us. The kitchen was miniamlly stocked and we had to buy a decent skillet. One of the bathrooms had a towel rack and the toilet paper holder pulled out of the wall. Dog hair on floor of one room. Kitchen floors were nasty and unmopped. Living room rug needs replacement because it is curled on one end and is a tripping hazard. Jack and Jill bathroom had a slow tub drain and the tub was not clean. Skillets and flatware need updating. The microwave was in the pantry closet(??) The entire house needs a deep cleaning.

Cape Haven summer stay

Reviewer Comments: Cape Haven was in a great location with a charming private path to the beach, which was wonderful and had BEAUTIFUL sunsets. Plenty of parking, space, kitchenware, comfortable beds. A/C worked great, loved having a screened porch. A good bit of the furniture was not in great condition - broken rockers on den chairs, box springs and bed frames visible on beds. Upon arrival, there was sand in the bed linens in the bunk room, dog hair and sand on the floor under tables/beds, easily removable spots on bathroom mirror. The management company was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. Overall, you can expect a charming house in a great location with beautiful views that just needs some updated furniture and better attention to cleaning. These couple of fixes would make it somewhere I would definitely return to.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Cape Haven was mostly wonderful. The location of this house was Perfect!! The house was a perfect size and setup for our family!! There was a few issues that were disappointing with the price we paid. Out of 5 eyes on the stove, only 2 worked. That was very inconvenient since we ate in every night. One tub/shower upstairs had a VERY slow drain, water was backed up on their feet while showering. The sink in the bathroom in bedroom at kitchen was also almost stopped up completely. The landscape on the property had trash in the grass and natural areas, it looked like it hadn’t been cut in a while too.

Great location but not a great house

Reviewer Comments: This is our fourth year coming to the Cape and while the home seemed like a great choice and was in a perfect location we were disappointed in several things. We had live rats or mice actively coming out at night eating our food the entire week. We found live traps set throughout the home and this was never disclosed prior to our arrival. We spoke to the rental company who sent out an exterminator yet the problem was still not resolved and they continued to eat our food at night when we were asleep. I contacted the rental company a second time with photos of eaten food and animal droppings all over the kitchen and they never responded. We weren’t able to check in to the home until after 6 pm due to them being short staffed with the cleaners which was understandable in these times, but the house was not clean. Bathrooms had mold in them throughout the home. Several things were broken in the home like the stove, faucets and furniture which we also made rental company aware and no response. This is the most we have paid for a home since we’ve been coming to the Cape and needless to say we were disappointed.

Picture Perfect Week on the Cape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cape Haven was a beautiful backdrop for our recent stay on Cape San Blas. The location was convenient and the amenities of the house were better than advertised. The kitchen was well-stocked and allowed us to cook gourmet meals with fresh, local seafood. The house was comfortable enough to host our group without everyone feeling cramped. Our fur babies were welcome and enjoyed their beach trip just as much as the humans. And the sunsets from the back deck were picture perfect. The friendly folks at Coastal Joe are always courteous and helpful and make any stay on the Cape in one of their properties a pleasure. Would definitely rent this place again!

Wonderful Beach Vacation

This was our first time visiting Cape San Blas and we loved everything about it. Coastal Joe’s was great to work with from start to finish...would definitely use them again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found the property more dirty upon arrival than we had ever experienced with a Coastal Joe property. The floors had multiple dust balls. There was mold in the master shower. In addition, preparing meals in the house was difficult because the oven and the stove did not hold temperature well. The grill was unusable. Only a single burner would light and the grill was not cleaned from previous use. There were some minor structural issues, toilet roll holders were not adequately anchored to the walls, the upstairs carpet threshold was missing and the screened porch door would not completely shut and did not look to be hung properly. We have stayed on Haven Road in the past and we were surprised at the amount of trash strewn from trash cans and perhaps the worst issue was the inordinate amount of rats in the area. We have been vacationing on CSB for many years and have never seen this amount of rodent activity. With this being said, the location of the house was nice. We like the Haven Road area. The beach view we enjoyed. If some of these issues could be resolved, we would consider staying in this house again.
