Au milieu des années 1800, la suite de la belle-mère (Novel House) a été ajoutée à la Wickham House originale (construite vers 1790) pour accueillir les familles plus nombreuses qui ont visité l'élégante enclave d'été de Manchester Village.

La maison a été récemment rénovée pour répondre aux besoins d’une famille moderne: salon au rez-de-chaussée, cuisine ouverte, salles de bain de luxe avec plancher chauffant et chauffage radiant. un porche de couchage en-suite.

Manchester est une petite ville du sud-ouest du Vermont, nichée au pied du mont Equinoxe Le village a une atmosphère de vieux monde tranquille, alors que Manchester Center est un paradis du shopping complètement différent du village avec ses panneaux, ses monuments et ses nombreux magasins. Manchester abrite également Hildene, la résidence d'été de 412 acres de Robert Todd Lincoln.

Living in History

We spent four nights in this wonderful historic home. It is fully equipped, spotlessly, clean, has all the modern amenities, but it immerses you in a bygone era. It is within a mile of Orvis, the American Museum of flyfishing, and central downtown Manchester. We highly recommend staying in this property, you will not regret it.

This house is a labor of love

This is one of our all time favorite rental experiences over the past 25 years. Every detail has been thought out and aligns with this beautiful and spacious 19th historic house. The aesthetic was perfect and at the same time, rather than feeling like staying in a museum, it was very cozy and comfortable. Close to everything. Highly recommend.

It was excellent. If I had to be critical; the only problem was that the TV did not work the second day. We spent 2 hours back and forth trying to fix it.

The first floor smelled like the family pet dog. upstairs bedrooms and bathroom were very nice. No smell. The kitchen was very nice. I was surprised there was no body wash with shampoo and conditioner. Had to go to store to buy. My big issue was that the WIFI was terrible. After the first Night, the TV would not connect to the WIFI. I inquired with property manager by text, email and phone as I figured it was as easy as re-setting router. But no reply the entire stay. So no TV. Also, i have never seen a VRBO without secure wifi. This is insane. The Owner had its own secure network but Renters.... oh no, unsecure network which means i cannot remote in from my laptop which means I left a day early and deserve a credit for one night. But I don't have time to fight for that. I will try to splash social media with these comments though. Disappointed

While we enjoyed our stay there were several issues that made it less than a 5 star experience. First, the positives: baths and kitchen renos were stellar, as is location and guide book. The negatives: a musky smell that brought to mind the age of the house. BDRM air conditioner filters were completely clogged blocking proper air flow - worked fine after I cleaned them. Parking was terrible - getting in ok; getting out not ok. Excellent photos of the interior belie generally run down appearance of exterior, and there was no patio furniture outside as depicted in online photos. Finally, I found the liability waiver requirement very off-putting.

Cozy Comfort, Rich History, in a Great Location

This is the second time we have stayed at a Storied Stay property and will keep coming back! The Novel house is a well appointed historic home. It has a cozy comfort with classic modern features (updated kitchen and bathrooms, laundry on the same floors as the bedrooms). It is perfect for one couple, two couples or a small family. The convenient location in walking distance to wonderful restaurants, hiking trails and a short drive to prime skiing are also a plus. Hands-down, this property is a must stay!

Charming location and comfortable place

A friend and I stayed here for a weekend of hiking and taking in the fall foliage. Great location, 3 houses away from Equinox resort. Clean and lots of thoughtful touches. Only disappointment was the challenge in the Smart TV not recognizing the WiFi and no one to come by and fix it. We were looking forward to some movie watching and after several reports via email, text and phone, it wasn’t fixed during our stay.

Wonderful Home Rental in Manchester

Storied Stay provided a perfect Manchester stay for myself and all guests. The house is beautiful, offering a historic New England feel with modernized appliances and accommodations . Magical weekend

What could be better than a beautiful autumn weekend in Vermont? Absolutely nothing...as long as you are staying at the lovely Storied Stay home! The property is immaculate, comfortable, and designed with impeccable taste. The Novel House in particular pairs modern design with historic charm, which provides the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. As for the host, Matt was helpful, responsive, and damn professional from start to finish. He made sure our trip went off without a hitch. We couldn't recommend this property more highly.
