Cozy Cottage - Perfect Place to Unplug
My husband and I stayed here after visiting the Jack Daniels Distillery. It's just a few miles away. It was extremely comfortable and we had all we needed. The bed was comfortable and very nice. I'm rather picky about my beds due to a lower back problem and this bed was perfect. It was cool when we stayed there but there was a heater. It does make noise kicking on and off so we eventually shut it off and enjoyed the cool room and the warm bed. Most of the furniture was of the antique era and gave the feel of what Jack Daniel's brother might have had when he lived there. Much of other decor I believe was also antique but reflected the owner's heritage from the Netherlands. There is a huge claw-foot tub and a small shower. Towels are provided and at my request, I had a blow dryer. There is a little kitchenette room with a coffee maker and a pot for making hot water for tea. We used both and enjoyed what was offered. Anita was an amazing host and full of information about the area. I wish I had more time to visit with her as I would love to learn more about the process of the lavender. We are enjoying the products we purchased and bought some for gifts. There are animals around as it is a farm but they are no problem. We enjoyed the dogs and got a real kick out of the cat, Boris, especially watching him playing with a mouse around some of the lavender bushes. Quite amusing. The sheep and mule and chickens and geese were fun to watch and be around as well. It is so peaceful there. It's also only about 6 to 9 miles from Fayetteville which offers a host of restaurants. At Anita's recommendation, we went to Las Trojas and really enjoyed the good food. Overall, this was an oustanding experience and we are so glad we found it. We were able to see another room and that looked wonderful as well. Print out the directions before you go as that was an issue for me not having good cell or internet service in the area. Just follow the Mulberry Lavender Farm signs. When you turn off Back Street, be sure to drive through the fence to the farm. Another sign at that fence might be helpful. There is no TV, cell service is spotty as is internet. If you want a Marriott, go stay there. This place had all we needed and it was so nice to unplug for a night and enjoy the peaceful countryside. I highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Anita!

We like our guests to get a sense of what it may have been like in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Of course in those days they did without indoor plumbing, electricity, and internet connectivity - so we cheat a little on those counts to make the experience an enjoyable and comfortable one :-) The furnishings have been collected over many years, some of the furnishings were already with the house but most are from the Georgian, and Victorian Era and come from the Netherlands and England. The history of the area and the farm is quite rich and you can sense it when you are here. We spend quite some time researching what all took place here over the years - during the Civil War and after, and are finding out more and more.

The Cozy Cottage is a tiny home likely built in the mid-1800's. The home is old, but well kept and even has a giant soak tub. We enjoyed the peace of being on this unique farm. During our stay the weather was lovely and we slept with only the door open to allow fresh air through the screened door. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch while reading and watching the farm animals roam about. Breakfast was fabulous, everything was fresh and organic. Absolutely lovely stay.

Relaxing
We were told by the owner about what to expect and it was exactly as told. No frills but cozy setting on the property of a working farm. It's wonderful to be "unplugged" and to just enjoy the sound of the leaves rustling, the animals, and the warmth of this tiny little cottage. Our hostess was a delight and the breakfast that she provided was wonderful. Wish we could have had one more day to unwind and relax. Such a pleasant surprise!

Great quiet country get away.
My wife Nancy and I had a great time staying with Anita and Bob last week. We came down for "The Jack" BBQ festival and staying on their farm was the perfect distance from town and allowed for a nice romantic break. They were the perfect hosts. Bob's breakfasts were great. We spent quite a bit of time talking with them. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very accommodating in anything we asked. If you want to get away from it all in a rustic quiet country setting, this is the place for you.

The world is such a hectic place nowadays and it is hard to get away from it all at times. We truly enjoy creating and sharing a small oasis where it is possible to just relax for a bit and learn a thing or two about how it may have been in gentler times. We like to bridge the gap that many people are experiencing when it comes to knowing where their food comes from, and providing insight in how farm animals fit in the greater scheme of a healthy existence that is respectful to their needs and that of the land. What it takes to grow that tomato on your plate or that pastured pork from a neighboring farm. Another very enjoyable aspect of the farm is that it attracts people who are seeking a different way of life for themselves as well. They come as someone we've never met, and leave as friends. It really is all about quality of life - we value it - and love to see others value it as well -- Life is good on Mulberry Creek! And Melissa, I would love to learn more about those seeds passed down to you from your grandfather! Thank you for choosing to spend your rare and precious days off on Mulberry Lavender Farm!

The farm and our hosts were amazing.
We stayed last weekend and loved the whole experience. The lavender was beautiful and in just a day we were already attached to all of the farm animals. The cabin was quaint and comfortable with everything you needed. The breakfast was perfect and just added to the fresh farm feel. We loved talking to Anita and Bob about farming animals and lavender. We will go back and look forward to seeing all the animals, eating breakfast again, and great advice and conversation. Thank you Anita and Bob for sharing your farm.

Disconnect and Decompress in the Country
We stayed at Anita and Bob's cottage on their property for two nights in June. No Wifi, no television, no roaring highway or city noises. In the country, off the beaten path and wonderful. There is a wall AC unit, thank goodness, because we were there during a very hot week! Horses, sheep, geese, chickens, and lavender. Great breakfast cooked by Anita, she brought it out to our cottage each morning. Lovely conversation as well. We would go back! Can't wait to see what they continue to do the property to improve it. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away. Also awesome lightening bugs in the evening! Sit on the front porch and watch the show. Nearby is Jack Daniels and George Dickels distilleries.

LOVED OUR STAY
Mulberry Lavender Farm was exactly what I hoped and more! Anita is an amazing host and went above and beyond necessary to make sure our special trip was one we’d never forget. Our all organic homemade breakfast was to die for. I mean it was hands down delicious!
The scenery was enchanting. Horses, hound dogs, geese, sheep, and Sightings of deer along the property line. It was a wonderful place to unwind and relax.
We stayed in the cottage and it was so cute & quaint. Decorated with antiques. It was much larger inside than anticipated. Very very clean with the aroma of lavender.
Our puppy was warmly welcomed and so were we! I HIGHLY recommend & definitely will return if ever in the area again.

We so enjoyed our time on the farm and only wish it were longer! The cottage was sweet with all you need for a nice rest. Breakfast each day was fabulous. I can still taste the fresh eggs and lavender honey. Yum. Loved sitting on the porch and watching the animals in the morning and the fireflies at night. À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Anita Scheelings
Anita and Bob Scheelings, formerly owned and operated Skull Valley Lavender Farm in Arizona, and in 2016 started Mulberry Lavender Farm in Mulberry, TN. The couple and all the farm animals (and even a lot of lavender plants) relocated to their new home on Mulberry Creek. The farm grows lavender, cut flowers, healthy veggies, and raise Navajo Churro Sheep, and Heritage Chickens, Geese, and Turkeys.
Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
Tennessee is lush and beautiful and you will hardly find friendlier people anywhere. From the small farm in Arizona, we searched long for the right farm with the right attributes for diversified, restorative farming, and the right soil and climate for lavender, and truly feel we hit the jackpot with this beautiful historic farm in Lincoln County.
Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
Jack Daniel's older brother Wiley used to own this farm. He was a Civil War veteran, surviving at least three of the main battles including Gettysburg. The farm is a haven for wildlife, and Mulberry Creek borders on the west - Almost any time of the day you can look up from whatever you are doing and see deer in the fields taking an interest in you. The horses and sheep are peacefully grazing on the lush pastures. The early settlers of this farm had the good sense to plant lots of nut trees, so we can enjoy gathering nuts like pecans, and walnuts. Old houses and old trees always make you wonder, what it has 'seen'. To see the rough saw marks in the real wood floorboards. Nothing being quite straight. It is all about character. For folks looking for just a bed in a hotel we are not the right place - If you are looking to unwind and enjoy the experience of farm life and a home that will speak to you - Come on over!!
