Leave the car behind and enjoy the best of Cape Charles on foot. This charming coastal cottage is just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Relax on the patio, fire up the grill, and enjoy easy, laid-back beach living. Golf Cart optional.

This one of a kind picturesque historic home is situated perfectly near the beach on the west end of Historic Cape Charles for your family vacation. The house is one block from the family friendly beach and ½ block to the business district with all the shopping and restaurants you could want. Park your car with the unlimited street parking available and you’ll never need to drive again during your stay at this massive retreat originally built in 1913.

Designer decorated with nautical and timeless pieces in a bright and cheerful beach theme. The highlight of the house is its massive wraparound porch where you will spend your mornings sipping coffee and after a full day at the beach your evening happy hours watching the town stroll by. If porches and fresh air aren’t your thing then the newly added rear sun/screen room with views out to the harbor and bay will be your relaxing and socializing hotspot. The warm inviting parlor is perfect for reading, relaxing or visiting. Large farm-style dining room just off the kitchen is suitable for even the largest of family meals and gatherings. Family room has 55" Smart TV with NetFlix and AppleTV. Three large bedrooms and one kids “cabin”. The home is centrally heated and cooled and the bedrooms have remote control celling fans. Two full renovated baths on the second floor and one ½ bath on the main level. Corner lot has large yard for outdoor activities and sundeck and stone patio leading to the garage where you can store your beach gear in the evenings. Optional Golf cart can be included with your stay to scoot around to anywhere you’d ever need to go in town.

Lovely house

We loved staying at Bay Charles! The location was perfect for walking to town and the beach. And we spent alot of time on the beautiful wrap around front porch and the toddlers loved the back yard to kick a ball around.

Beautifully appointed house in great location. Close to beach, shopping, and restaurants. Lovely front porch with plentiful seating plus all season room in the back. Easy parking. We enjoyed this house rain and shine! Would book again.

Beautiful home!

I have stayed in a number of rentals in Cape Charles and this was one of the nicest places! It was very clean and spacious. Of note, the room with the two twin beds would be fine for two small children, it is not quite big enough for two teenagers. The location is fantastic and they were very responsive to the questions we had during the week. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely vacation

Our family had a wonderful week. The house is nicely renovated and really cute. We were able to squeeze a Pack n Play for our grand baby into the fourth bedroom. We booked again for next year! The golf cart was a fun add on. Location was outstanding: one block away from the beach and Brown Dog ice cream!

Exactly as I imagined!

We had a great time at the Bay Charles! House was lovely, spacious and very comfortable. Our family gathered every morning in the sunroom or on the back patio for coffee. Front porch was a great alternative spot to relax and/or enjoy a swing on the porch.

Wonderful Beach Home

We had an amazing time staying in this home. We had two families totally 9 people and it was such a wonderful place to stay. The decoration and furniture were so welcoming and relaxing. We spent the mornings in the sun room off the back enjoying coffee and pastries from the local bakery. We spent the evenings on the front porch enjoying the day, sipping wine and cocktails. The front porch is HUGE, we had an infant who loved being able to crawl, explore and wander around while the adults sat and hung out together. The house is a stones throw from the beach which made it so easy to walk over or to take the golf over for a quick dip. The house is also just a block away from downtown. It was so much fun to be able to walk out your door and almost immediately be in the little town, going to shops and restaurants. If there is any negative, it would be that he kitchen is a little on the small side so making a large meal is a little challenging. But the kitchen is well equipped for the size with all sorts of pots, pans, appliances, and most everything you could need. We would absolutely stay in this home again. It was such a calm, relaxing home to stay in and Cape Charles as a whole is an incredible place for small children given the beach is like a big bathtub and pretty shallow for 100+ yards out. It was just a phenomenal place to stay.

This house is in a perfect location, tastefully decorated, and has all the amenities for a great vacation. The wrap around porch and screened in sunroom were perfect places to hang out. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Great location, well-maintained house

We enjoyed a late April trip and appreciated the great location! Having the golf cart included with the rental was hugely helpful! We were able to walk or ride to the beach and pier within just minutes, and we took daily rides in the golf cart for coffee/pastries, lunch, ice cream, dinner, etc. The house was well-maintained and decorated with a beachy, updated feel. Bedrooms were large (although we would have loved at least one king bed!), and the kids "cabin" worked well for small children. The large, flat side yard was also a huge plus, as our kids could play soccer there easily!

Exceptional Experience

This was our first trip to Cape Charles and it was such an enjoyable vacation. This home was beautiful inside with furniture and decor that was out of a magazine. The location to town and the beach was perfect, just one block.. We will be back many more times.

Perfect house LOCATION LOCATION!

House was perfect and beautifully appointed and decorated. Had everything we needed. I miss read the listing and thought it was 4 full bedrooms + the kids room. Maybe my mistake. Cape Charles is an wonderful town and this group of moms had an amazing 5 day getaway. Don’t miss out on the state park.

Great location and house!

I highly recommend this property if you are a group of 8 or less. Four large bedrooms sleep two each; 3 of the rooms have queens and one room has 2 twins. Obviously that means 6 people are sharing beds, so it works best for couples and 2 kids on the twins. We were 3 women all related to each other, and 4 kids from one family, so we doubled up as mother and child, grandmother and child, one adult in one of the queen rooms, and 2 kids on the twins. The kitchen is very well equipped, modern and clean appliances, older but charming cabinets and counters. One full bath modernized, and one full bath with lots of room for your toiletry items and a freestanding tub with old fashioned shower attached with shower curtain. Half bath downstairs. Lots of lamps and comfy furniture, including bed mattresses and linens. House is large and spacious and really lovely. Best part…..one block to the beach and one block to Mason Ave, the Main Street and downtown area. The location cannot be beat. Corner lot and neighbors only on one side. Property manager Kathy was very responsive, and helpful. I hope to rent this house again, and I highly recommend it!

Perfect Fall Weekend

Don’t shy away from the beach in October. The weather was perfect to go along with a wonderful house. Bay Charles was attractive, well appointed and in close proximity to the beach. We definitely would schedule another visit to this charming house and beach.

Getaway Weekend

We were first timers to Cape Charles, and we thought the house was going to be great, but it was incredible. We’re not avid old house fans due to creaks and the sometimes creepy nature of them. However, the house was more modern than expected inside and decorated with modern trends. Loved it. If there was a higher rating for location, we would have have it 10 stars. One block from both the beach AND the shops. Very walkable to most things unless going up near the Kings Creek area in which case just pull the golf cart out of the garage - included in the price!

Fantastic family getaway

This was the perfect house for a week at the bay with our kids! The house is a great layout for families, fully stocked with beach toys, kitchen, and laundry. The location can't be beat - a block from the beach and a block from restaurants and shops.
