The house was perfect for access to the beach but was a little disappointed since the house was not furnished with toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags.

Close to the beach!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is older but charming and had absolutely everything we needed. My husband and I, in our 60's, have some physical issues. This house is very close to the beach and the ocean so getting back and forth to the beach was a breeze. There were boogie boards, chairs, umbrella and beach canopies all provided. The photos on VRBO are not exact as the dunes have risen since the walkway was built but still super easy to get to the beach. We would stay here again. Good places to eat close by.

Beach Baby

We had an enjoyable stay at Beach Baby. It’s a basic older beach cottage with nice outdoor spaces. The pictures of the ocean side of the house could use updating, as the view and beach access have been taken over by the dune. The dune is six to eight feet taller than when the pictures were taken. That said, it’s still a nice little place.

Rental was perfect for what we needed. Family of 4 with kids age 11/16. Quick and easy access to the beach. The outdoor shower with warm water was extra nice. Near a lifeguard but not crowded. Short walk on the beach to an ice cream stand (Arts Place/Winks) was awesome. Wifi worked great with all the kids electronics. Had enough kitchen equipment to warm up restaurant left-overs, cook mac&cheese, breakfast foods, and frozen pizza. Easy for door dash to find us. Most meals were eaten on the front or back deck. The dining and living room had comfortable furniture making nice gathering spaces.Location was a great jumping point for travel. North to the shops at Duck and parasailing, or South to First Flight Adventure Park at Nags Head. Quick access to groceries, pharmacies, and all the wonderful food in between.Not having a dishwasher or clothing washer/dryer was inconvenient but an easy compromise for the beach access. A small bottle of dawn and teamwork took care of us for 10 days. The wash house on Manteo has fast high capacity washers () and I was able to get mid-trip washing done in 1.5 hours. (No quarters, all digital).Turning left onto Croatan Hwy can be challenging. If needed, there is a stop light 2 streets North at Eckner (after Arts Place) or South a little ways at Kitty Hawk Rd (at the Black Pelican).We don't have fancy needs. Mostly to walk on the beach several times a day and eat good food. Would easily choose this property again.

great property

The house and location were awesome and we very much enjoyed our stay. There was an issue with the electrical in the back bedroom, however, there was an electrician there to fix it (arranged 100% by the property managers) in less than 10 hours so it was a small hiccup in an otherwise great stay. The house was super clean and ridiculously adorable and just perfect for our family vacation. The pictures are a bit dated as some of the furniture has been changed and some of the outside furniture is showing its age but this was a minor detail for my family. Thanks for a wonderful first trip to the Outerbanks!

This plase is filthy and in desperate need of some tlc

Location is great. House needs cleaned. Ceilings and fans are filthy. Mold in the shower is just nasty. Screen doors are construction fence not screening. Deck is falling apart in places. Dont plan on using the picnic table. It is unusable. Furniture is shabby and broken down. I could say more but will stop here

The screened porch had many torn or damaged screens and didn't look like it had been painted for years. The ice maker was broken. If the owner took better care of it it would be a 5 star winner.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I chose this property because the photos showed a view of the beach from the screened porch/deck. I was traveling with a disabled person who cannot go out on the beach but wanted them to feel as close to the beach as possible. Unfortunately the photos on the website are old and the dune has been built up so that the view is now blocked. It is also so steep that beach access is difficult even for someone without disability. Photos of properties should be updated when changes like this occur. Propert was clean but we dealt with ants from the first day. Property is old and needs updating to be worth the price.

It was great to be right on the beach; however, the pictures of the cottage being displayed are several years old. The pictures show this pretty walkway out to the beach. The walkway has been taken over by the dune and has grass growing on it. The back porch is sinking. It looks as if the owner is letting the property go. The half bath is on the screened porch and has no air. I believe the price is too high for what you get.

Wonderful location, home in poor condition

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was great. We wanted to be able to walk out the back door to the beach and that’s what you get here, no doubt. We would not rent this house again as it is pretty run down. More like a camp experience. We may have been the first to rent this season (first week in April) and the cleaning seemed to be less than thorough. After sleeping in the bed in one room found sand under the sheet, trailed it back to the window sill which apparently leaks pretty bad. The floor in the bathroom has soft spots, doesn’t seem very safe. At the prices you pay here, I would expect a better experience.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was absolutely great. The view of the beach was incredible. Kitchen upgrades were evident. The biggest issue we had was the lack of good lighting in the house. The living room ceiling light/fan didn’t work and wonder how long that had been not functioning. So dark! Would not recommend for medium/ large family. We found out that the house doesn’t have cable tv but had a great guy come out from maintenance to check that out. Can’t remember his name but he was wonderful. Tried everything to fix it before he was told we only had an alternate service which was too limited.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at the beach. Beach Baby was a fun house. It is an old school beach house which we enjoyed. I thought the house was nicely done. Did not have cheap items just to provide. The location was GREAT. Was so nice to bring the dogs. They had a blast. Thank you for a nice stay!

Great Vacation Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great beach house. The beach access can not be beat. Will only be renting this house for future trips to OBX. Area was quiet and yet everything was convenient. Much needed relaxation!!!
