Shugafoot, grâce à ma regrettée grand-mère, décédée cette année à 95 ans. Elle appellerait tous nos petits-enfants Shugafoot.

Shugafoot est un chalet en bord de mer. A quelques pas de la plage. Levers de soleil magnifiques, observez les dauphins. Super endroit! 3 chambres et 2 salles de bain complètes. Master a une reine, la 2ème chambre est une pleine et la 3ème chambre a des lits jumeaux. Toutes les chambres offrent une vue magnifique sur la plage et l'océan.

Cuisine et salon à aire ouverte avec curseur vers un grand porche couvert et une terrasse ensoleillée avec une vue fantastique.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was as described and clean. It was the perfect space for us and our two dogs, and the deck was amazing, it was fully enclosed and our dogs loved sitting out there!

This is an older property that’s been very nicely updated. It’s well-appointed with modern, current appliances, and everything is in perfect working order. The location is great—up against the dunes with easy access to the beach. The view of the ocean from the covered deck is our favorite part of the house. It’s a pet-friendly rental, and we especially appreciated that it was one-floor living which made it easy for our aging pup to get around. We’ll be renting this property for years to come.

Loved the cottage and the back porch! The view is beautiful. The beach was not crowded at all, even during holiday week. It’s a small trek over a little dune to get to the beach, but easily doable. Outdoor shower and hose very handy. Kitchen is equipped well for cooking and dining in. Location is great. We would definitely stay again.

The view is the best part of this house and easy access to the beach. The closed in porch was a bonus for our dog. It was chilly during our stay but that didn’t interfere with our sunrise walks on the beach! Great location! Thank you for a great stay!

Shugafoot was perfect for a relaxing week at the beach. Mark was an exceptional host and responded quickly to all questions. The cottage was clean and very comfortable for bringing a pet. The evenings were quiet and the location was convenient to food and shopping.

We are a couple that stayed at Shugafoot in May 2026 with our corgi, Einstein. This stay was honestly one of our best trips yet and we thank this location for that! The deck at Shugafoot was honestly such a blessing. We would spend hours spotting for pelicans, ospreys and pods of dolphins. We even saw a few Guard, C130s and Navy Osprey flying along the coast. We were extremely lucky to have good weather which allowed for some good shelling finds at the beach as well!Other things we enjoyed about Shugafoot:-The large kitchen island and spacious fridge-Location (The cottage is very close to a lot of our favorite KH eats including Awful Arthur’s, John’s Drive In and Arts Place)-The views of the ocean from the living room/kitchen area-Upgrades to the cottage but still has the comforting and nostalgic coastal feeling of staying at the OBX with family We would definitely love to stay at Shugafoot in the future!

Great Location

I can't say enough about this place, we have stayed here a couple time and hope to stay again in the future. Great dog friendly house and perfect location for a weekend away, not far from the bridge and right on the beach. The house was clean and the kitchen pretty well stocked with everything we needed.

Great winter stay at the beach

The house was just the right size for our family (and could have fit a few more) the location was excellent, and we loved watching dolphins from the front porch. Great sunsets and beautiful stargazing. The host was also very attentive (thank you, Mark!). We would definitely come again.

Beautiful view

Location could not be beat. Steps from the ocean and protected by a substantial dune. Hearing the waves as we fell asleep in the comfortable king bed was a plus. Sadly the place needs updating to be clean enough for us to come back.

Love the beach, property nice.

Other the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby causing a trip to be wet, the trip went well. This is our fifth time to the Outer Banks and we love this part of America. The house was very nice, just needs a little updating and refining.

Great cottage on the beach!

This house was perfect for my husband and I and our two dogs. The location is amazing and you can’t beat the views. We loved sitting on the porch watching the dolphins every morning! I brought a pot and pan with me based on other reviews, but found the kitchen accommodations were more than enough for a few days at the beach! Great stay!!

Relax at the OBX

It’s hard to be closer to the surf than this cottage! So convenient when setting up chairs on the beach, or when dolphin watching from the covered deck. Really enjoyed our getaway! Though be very careful when backing out from the driveway, the view to the road is a bit limited.
