We really enjoyed Pelican Retreat. The owners have done a terrific job with the place - crisp clean sheets, fresh paint, recent renovations, lovely garden and perfect location. The fur family loved being able to be indoors and outdoors in safe areas. The Christmas decorations are a lovely homey touch. We could not ask for a better holiday.

Another visit another amazing stay! Great location, lovely house, always super clean and organised and with everything you might need! Properly dog friendly, our pups aways have the best time. The hosts, Paul and Leanne are great and both of their Stay and Relax Barmera properties are truly first class! 5 stars all round!

Cottage very well set out to cater for everyone including dogs. Plus for coffee machine and goodies on arrival. So close to the Lake and walking paths. Away from the main area of the lake/caravan park so not noisy. Perfect sunsets.

Fantastic spot

This was the fourth year in a row. My little dog Bella and I really enjoy enjoy the walks along the lake. You cannot beat watching the sunset over the lake every evening. We will be back next year.

The hosts Paul and Leanne made the cottage very welcoming with a welcome pack. Everything was clean and the cottage was well maintained. Also, our dog felt very comfortable, hard to find nice places when travelling with your pet you have done a great job in making us feel at home. Will stay again.

Short but Sweet

Only stayed for a couple of nights. We liked the place very much being dog friendly accommodation was excellent. Highly recommend Pelican Retreat.

We loved our stay in Barmera with our 2 dogs. The cottage was well situated opposite Lake Bonney, well appointed and spacious.

Will we return?

Absolutely! We will be back. The location was perfect, the accommodation clean, uncluttered and calming. Loved the Pelican search, watching glorious sunsets over the lake and the long morning walks were thoroughly enjoyed by us and dog. So very relaxing. Thank you.

Short getaway with our fur baby

A lovely property in a beautiful position with the most amazing backyard for our four-legged baby.The property was as described, and the surprise platter items were a lovely gesture.Make sure you go out the front of the property to enjoy the amazing sunsets.We will be returning for another stay.

Great for a family stay

Pelican Retreat had everything we needed for our family of five and the dog. Compact house and yard but well stocked and clean. Very comfortable beds and nice bathroom.

Perfect dog friendly place

Lovely little house with perfect lake views. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. The enclosed, private backyard is perfect for that morning coffee and breakfast, or afternoon drinks with our 4-legged friends. Would be very happy to return.

Great Pet friendly get away

This is our second stay. The location of this pet friendly accommodation is great. Had every thing we needed and when we needed to contact the owner of a couple of things they were exceptionally responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely personalised space to spend 3 nights overlooking Lake Bonney, perfect backyard for our dog to sniff around in. A surprise welcome gift from our hosts was a very nice touch and the shampoo/body wash etc in shower was great, would definitely book again and highly recommend to family and friends 😊

Immaculate & Great Location

We were delighted with our accommodation at Pelican retreat. It was immaculately clean and provided all we needed for a great stay. It rained all day on one of our 2 days' stay so it was nice to have a view of the lake to sit and watch. The garden was lovely and perfect for the dogs. Thank you. â˜ș

Lake Bonney Stay

Excellent facilities in a prime location. Own labelled wine was a nice touch as were the treats for us and our dog. It was good to have a secure back yard fo0r our dog to be safe in.

A sensational short stay with the dogs!

A very comfortable place with all of the necessary amenities for a group. The back yard a nice size, safe and secure for the fur kids to stretch their legs and investigate without getting into any trouble. We look forward to our next visit!
