Turangi on the Tongariro River

Welcome to our family home set in one of the original first streets of Turangi. Our home is a small part of Turangi’s Power Hydro project legacy having been built & owned by the Italian construction Company Codelfa Cogefar and being home to two of it’s Engineers over the life of the project. Our home is situated right next to the Tongariro river and just a stones throw away from the Bridge pool.

A relaxing location

A perfect location for visiting other family in the area - we had everything we needed at the property, it was warm and comfortable and close to the river for fishing or a stroll. Hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. Would most definitely stay again.

Great place to stay

Hosts went the extra mile to welcome us and make the place cosy by having the fire and heating going. Bach was very well presented and ideal for a fishing trip. Highly recommend.

All we needed!

Great location and it had all we needed! Great to have a Bach that supplied clean linen given that we had travellled internationally!

Very easy visit. Expectations exceeded. Extremely clean home with a practical layout. Bach feel but had all the comforts of home. It does creak a lot at night with thermal expansion, but that's typical of a Lockwood and our own Bach does too.

Comfort and quiet

Comfortable house close to river and Turangi township. Quiet street with lovely trees. Well equipped property with everything you need - good for families or two couples. Would happily stay there again.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay

Comfortable, well equipped, quiet and roomy accommodation. Very light lounge with wall of French doors leading onto spacious new desk. Handy to river walking tracks and shops. Had everything we needed.

Great little spot

Nice house with lots of character and a great big garden. Minutes walk to my favourite fishing pool as well. Owner was great. Good communication and made sure we had everything we needed.

Well located and well equipped bach. Good value for money and a nice place to stay.

The owners live next door and are very friendly. Comfy beds and decent shower. Nice outdoor space. Although dated it's well equipped and had a nice family feel. We had a lovely holiday in the area. Thank you.

Stay near the river in Turangi

The house was great for our need to have a place to relax and prepare for our outings in our rafts. The deck was beautiful and a great place for conversations. Perfect weather too! Communication with the host was very good and it was so nice for us to check out late so that we could leave our extra gear and boats at the house while we were on the water. It was a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend.

Amazing

Amazing whare (house), was nice and warm when we arrived (late at night), nice big lawn area where my son was able to ride his bike. Owners were also such caring people.

Dated house

Good beds, good shower, very clean and we had a relaxing time. Worth noting that the house is very old fashioned with tired furnishings. Also there is no WiFi.

Comfortable Tūrangi Getaway

Comfortable home with a great backyard for the kids (although fence wasn’t gated, if you have little ones). Very clean with plenty of spare linen and plates etc in the kitchen. As the home is older it can be very noisy when walking around however this didn’t deter from our stay. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

Large, clean family space

Big space. Easy to check in. Very clean. Furnishings pretty dated, but some might like it that way. Floor creaky as. Would be good to get an extractor fan of some sort in the kitchen but no real complaints. A pleasant stay.

Nice house close to Tongariro park

Nice and charming house with character. The wooden floor was cracking at every step :) The house has all you need for a pleasant stay.
