Markets
When on holiday, every keen shopper loves a visit to the local markets to spy a bargain or find that perfect gift or souvenir that encapsulates their stay in a unique way. Located at the aptly named âMarket Parkâ on Wharf Street, the Port Douglas Sunday Market has delighted visitors and locals alike for years.
If you want to venture further afield and have a keen interest on local produce, the Mossman Markets are the place to be. Located under the canopy of the awe-inspiring rain trees and next to the historic St. Davidâs Anglican church, here you will meet the locals who have been farming and living in this region for generations. Purchase giant exotic fruits, vegetables and lush herbs and spices â all grown with the help of the tropics. Here, the early bird catches the worm, so make sure you get here before midday every Saturday.
