Long awaited family visit

We booked this trip in may being very optimistic that Covid would be in the downturn. That’s exactly what happened.

A recommendation with no hesitation

Louise and Guy ensured that our stay was perfect. The apartment was clean extremely comfortable and well apointed. The location in the heart of the village offered easy accessibilty to a variety of great coffee shops and restaurants. Great food, good wine but best of all spectacular views of the bay and harbour. My seat in the window afforded a great opportunity for people watching and taking photographs of the life of the harbour. The first of a two week stay in the area it could not have been a more perfect start. Thank you so much.

Wonderful apartment close to train station

Apartment was spacious and comfortable. Even though it was on the main road, the noise didn’t bother us all that much. Louise, who manages the apartment along with her husband was gracious and met us when we arrived, even though we were a bit late. She gave some great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Room and bed was comfortable with a wood-burning stove to heat the apartment. One possible discrepancy we noted is that the listing says that the apartment has a dryer, but we were unable to find it. However, there was a drying rack and washing machine. Overall, a very nice place to stay for a few nights Nice view out over the ocean.

Whalehaven is a little piece of heaven in Kalk Bay

What a pleasure to stay in this beautiful Flat in Kalk Bay, Cape Town South Africa! The flat overlook the harbor with large windows in the lounge that let in the natural light and all of the beauty of the area. Even thought the first day we experienced rain, we were exhausted from traveling in the bush and Whalehaven was a welcome respite! WE enjoyed the comfortable sofas and the view. Beautifully furnished with a full kitchen and brand new appliances. Washer, dishwasher, espresso machine, Whalehaven has it all! The location is conveniently located within walking distance to all local restaurants. The flat has 2 bedrooms on with a queen sized bed and another with 2 twin beds. The beds are comfortable with lovely white fluffy duvets. There is a large freestanding bathtub and shower in the bathroom and the water closet is separated from the shower/tub area. There are several stairs to access the flat so bear that in mind if you have issues with stairs. The flat is secure with a gate a street level and another locked door before accessing the porch. We felt safe at all times. The owners live very close to the flat and met us upon check in. We were able to communicate with they via WhatsApp and text message prior to check in. Our flight was delayed so the ease of communication was helpful in our case. The flat was spotless and is even more beautiful than it appears in photos. I recommend this space without any hesitation! The owners are both lovely and friendly and they have included a list of activities in the area for you as well.

A week at Whalehaven Kalk Bay Cape Town

A delightful open plan apartment overlooking the heart of Kalk Bay’s vibes seafront area. Spacious clean airy and comfortable with everything you could possibly require in both the accommodation and the surrounding areas. You cannot fail but to enjoy staying here and would recommend it completely

We've safely raised a bright and happy family, built a precious circle of fabulous friends, kept ourselves fit by jogging and riding on the mountain, and indulged ourselves in some of the best restaurants on the planet! I'm a coach and Guy is a family doctor. When we travel, which we try to do as often as we can, we like staying in apartments that allow us to experience the unique essence of the place we're visiting.
