This is a super cute cottage, but I’m only giving it four stars because each piece of bedding (sheet, duvet, pillows) on the queen bed had stains on it that looked like food stains or coffee. Also, the tiny loft beds were not a full size twin. Our girls are 14 and 17 and their feet hung off the end. The loft is only meant for tiny kids. The next door neighbor must be a resident, because their toys, trikes, and strollers are strung out all over the yard and they just don’t pick up after themselves. It felt a little too cozy. There are not many dining or shopping options nearby, so definitely bring groceries! If you don’t rent a boat or already have plans for Mahjong or other social activities, Carlton Landing is pretty plain and boring. All in all, this trip was a bust for us.

The cottage was perfect for our little getaway. It was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch in the morning and having ice cream on it in the evening. We’d definitely book again.

The shower is too small. The upstairs AC has issues. Anyone sleeping in loft will freeze so the upstairs bedroom stays comfortable. Also the front areas need to be refreshed. Paint and upkeeps. Grass is all weeds.

Cozy place for a weekend away!

We stayed for NYE and enjoyed the cabin. 2 adults, 2 kids and the size was perfect for us since we were always on the go.

Perfect stay at coral cottage! Very comfortable and lovely home. Loved the area and the friendly people in it. PorchFest was this weekend and we didn’t even know about the event but enjoyed part of it in the afternoon! It was a great place to spend our anniversary!

Beautiful cottage, great location!

It was perfect for our family of 5. The rooms were all beautifully decorated and so clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The kids loved the loft area. We loved the location with the bocce ball courts and ping pong table just outside. Such a cute little town with a great nature trail and playground. We will definitely be back and would love to stay in this same house again!

Spring Break

We booked a long weekend for Spring Break, accommodations were great! It was a little tricky since we arrived after dark but we eventually located the cottage and figured out the keypad for entry. The town was great, not a ton to do with the cooler weather but we will definitely be back in the summer!

Quaint Cottage

I spent two nights with my son and my sister for a cold, rainy spring break. Because of the weather we were nestled nicely in this quaint cottage. It was beautifully decorated and cozy. I loved the detailed architecture of the windows and doors. The beds were fluffy and the linens were new and fresh. There’s nothing the owners haven’t thought about to welcome guests. I definitely want to return.

A Great Getaway for the Family!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We felt very at home here. I was SO happy that the bed was actually so comfortable. Most places leave me with a sore back - but not this place. Also, there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was another bonus if you tend to need ceiling fan noise to snooze. The only issue we had at all was parking was a bit tight if the other residents don’t park correctly. We do drive a large truck and neighboring cars were not always courteous at parking in the correct lines for their spots, so it was a tight squeeze for us, but we made due and that is no fault to the cottage owner. Overall it was a great stay and we are excited to bring our kids back next time!

Relaxing Weekend

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage was adorable and well stocked. We would probably bring our own glasses for wine next time😉 It was very sleepy post spring break and we really enjoyed the Peace since we were there without our children:)The only complaintwould be the living room furniture was not ideal for relaxing. We managed but a deep sofa and cushy chairs would make it a 10 ! We really goind the cottage enchanting otherwise! The Metzler’s

Great Pros and some a few BIG Cons

Rating Details: The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There are some very pretty views and a lot of the houses are very well kept from what we saw on the outside. There were some that needed a lot of TLC and the cottage where we stayed was the same. Most of the walk ways were grown over with bushes and random strollers and toys laid over all around. It looked like a junked out neighborhood. Our cottage was surface area clean on the lower level but upstairs was disguising to say it very nicely. Windows were filthy, mini blinds were worse (like filled the air and our eyes with filth when we opened them). Just remembering how disgusting it was under the bed makes me sick. There is NO WAY the room had been cleaned in months. There were dead bugs in the bathroom and hair in the shower that did not belong to us. We were told more than once that CL seems to be looking worse and worse every year. Mama Tig’s was the best!! The food truck staff seemed to be having difficulties. Several of them were going in and out of the trailers to the other trailers and no one was getting their food. It was so long I ended up just getting my money back. There needs to be a walkway from the top of the hill to the beach, it’s is needed especially when the grass is soaking wet. I also think it would level up CL GREATLY if there were places to hang out by the lake, like large docks with loungers. It is a beautiful area and to be able to lounge by the lake would be a game changer. Several different families said the same when we were there and have heard the same since we have been back home. I unfortunately would not suggest CL for a getaway other than a quick weekend trip bc of the seemingly declining in the care of the area and the lack of cleanliness of the home. Side note also heard about filth in other homes while we were there.

This place was very nice, good location, well furnished. The one issue, which is a big one, was the air conditioning in the bedroom. It was at least 10 degrees hotter in that space than any other area and was too hot for my wife to sleep in. This resulted in her having to sleep in one of the twin beds in the loft space.

Compact but charming

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay! We were a party of 2. The property has a lot of charm. The kitchen is well appointed & a comfortable size. We enjoyed the porch swing. The bedroom was a comfortable space with plenty of space for your clothing. We slept blissfully every night. There are some tight height spots in the house. I am 5’5” and managed to not hit my head going up the stairs, but I did hit my head on the ceiling when I took a peak into the loft & multiple times in the shower. I’m a small build; I can’t imagine how much larger people could shower in that confined space. We would have loved it if the TV had antennae capability so we could have seen the local news/weather. The upstairs was pretty warm. It's apparently managed by a unit that is in the loft. The loft felt like the temp at which it was set, but the bedroom did not. The ceiling fan offset the difference & helped keep us comfortable. There are a lot of cobwebs & wasp nests on the front porch. One of those wasps wound up in the bedroom. We were surprised those weren’t cleaned up before our arrival. Parking worked out for us as there did not seem to be anyone in one of the spots by us, but if every property was occupied, you would have a hard time fitting a vehicle into each parking spot. Also, my husband commented throughout our stay that he found the couch to be very hard & uncomfortable. While we do have some “complaints,” I want to make it clear that we truly did have a nice stay. Some of these issues are not changeable. To me, the biggest issue is the cobweb/wasp nest issue that could have easily been appropriately addressed ahead of time. For a quick getaway for just the 2 of us, it was a perfect place to stay.

Nice.... However

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The stay was nice. The area was very nice. The people were friendly to us. There’s a few things that weren’t very conducive for us. We are somewhat “larger” than the average people. Translation-I’m a tall fat guy lol. The bathroom/ shower situation was far too cramped for us. Secondly, the A/C upstairs wasn’t working properly. So again with me being a tall fat guy..... that was an issue! Beside those things, the overall stay was peaceful and beautiful!
