This adorable modern home takes a colorful, relaxing and good-humored approach to time at the beach, and you’ll enjoy the sunny seaside vibe both indoors and out. The great room downstairs includes a gas fireplace and TV in the living room and a separate retro sitting room complete with record player and a collection of albums—a guaranteed conversation starter for your guests!

A covered deck in the back includes chairs and a barbecue to add variety to meals from the fully equipped kitchen, with its inviting island breakfast bar and sunny dining area. Upstairs you’ll find two spacious, luxurious and whimsical bedrooms guaranteed to smile you to sleep.

The beach is an easy hike via an easy ramped trail over an enormous dune, where you’ll survey Pacific City’s beautiful beach, dunes and the magnificent presence of Haystack Rock. Stroll to the Pelican Pub, have a fancy cocktail at Meridian Restaurant, or head south down the beach for miles of quiet beachcombing at Bob Straub State Park. Hop in the car for half-hour trips to Tillamook or Lincoln City, grab a game of golf or try your hand at fishing or crabbing in the Nestucca River. Nautical by Nature makes it easy to enjoy many facets of the Central Oregon Coast, especially with its pleasant vibe to welcome you back at the end of each day.

Amazing decor and furnishings, found myself saying “can I live here?” all weekend. Paradise for millennials with good taste in music, haha. Kitchen was super well equipped for lots of cooking. Only minor complaint is the late check-in an early check-out but I didn’t think to ask for earlier check-in until we arrived in Pacific City (had to drive over the pass), so it’s possible Meredith Lodging may have accommodated. Great stay!

The beach house was clean which i was happy about being able to be sockless and not have filhy feet. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed but the stove burner did not work on one burner. The oven/ stove was newer and seemed to have a longer cooking time. The fireplace never lit or worked after multiple times of trying. The outdoor bbq only lit up on one side of the grill but we made it work for grilled steak and hamburgers. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood except for the road behind our house which had some late night traffic. The walking trails were used multiple times of the day with the dog. But the beach acess was hard with those in our group had disabilities. Those were unable to get down the dune and back up did not go. But cape kiwanda down the road was much better. We arrived late and our acess code did not work so after a long days drive arrived at 9pm was unsettling but the after hours helped us quickly to get inside. We loved our stay in the beautiful home but leaving by 10 was hard with teenagers.

The house is so nicely decorated and in a location that is walkable to the beach or town. It was impeccably clean but some of the resources (i.e. beach chairs) were locked in the garage and there were no access instructions. We did ask the property manager for access instructions to the garage to use the beach chairs, but didn’t receive a response. Also, we ended up getting locked out during our stay because the batteries ran out on the Yale lock. It would be nice if the property managers paid a little closer attention to these little details as it could’ve been a major inconvenience. Of note, there is no AC, and the upstairs can get warm. We’d suggest the addition of a fan to be made available for future guests. Also, a lot of road noise can be heard from the master bedroom, which may be a nuisance for light sleepers.

We were notified mid-day our check in time was being moved from 4pm to 7:30pm due to an emergency. We had been traveling all day and were looking forward to checking in and relaxing but we were understanding. We asked that we be notified if they were done early and we would be able to check in prior. We made a few additional stops but still arrived to town around 7. We drove by the property and there was nobody there. We received no notification they were done and they did not respond to our messages at this point asking if we could enter. We finally parked at the property around 7:20 and our codes did not work until precisely 7:30. When we walked in it was clear the property had not been cleaned. There was a dirty rag on the counter, sand and dirt all over the floors, the kitchen counters were sticky and there were no sheets on the master bed and a pile of wash next to the machine. There were no garbage bags to put in the cans.We immediately called the management company whose solution was to send a cleaning crew out the next day. I advised that was not acceptable and wanted to know what else could be done. They said they would look into it but we never heard another word from them. I spent over 90 minutes cleaning. Pictures do not do justice. I had to clean feces specs off the toilet as an example.I followed up when we were home from our vacation with an email to their general email and management and neither were acknowledged.

Hip and comfy

We really enjoyed the house! It's got a very hip vibe and we loved the record player and albums. Very comfy house with lots of thoughtful extras (fully equipped kitchen, good mattress, skylight bathroom, witty posters). We wish we had known about the tricky access to the beach beforehand...it was a bit hard with the steep climb/descent for our older dog. Otherwise nice place and well maintained.

Weekend getaway

We had a great stay at Nautical by Nature! The interior was adorable and fun. We made good use of the turntable and vinyl collection - such a fun touch and great variety! We would definitely recommend this property and stay again. The only thing that could be improved on is the check out time, 10am is a bit early when many other places are usually 11-12.

This is a beautiful home, very tastefully appointed. We were comfortable & impressed with everything. Beds were comfortable, as were living room furnishings. Loved the record collection & player. The fireplace added coziness.

Comfortable Clean & Classy

Totally enjoyed our time at the coast! Stimulus bakery, Pelican brewery and Breakfast burritos were all within walking distance, as was the beach! The dogs and we went daily to the beach where they practiced ball retrieval, escaping waves and chasing birds that were never caught! Wonderful vacation!

Misleading Listing

I don't normally write reviews, but this one feels important. We recently stayed at Nautical By Nature, booked through Meredith Lodging, and were extremely disappointed with our experience. The home was very cute! But the listing indicated that the property included access to a pool and gym. The pool was a key reason for our booking. However, upon arrival, we discovered that these amenities did not exist. We inquired about the pool when we booked on June 15 and again on the first day of our stay, August 12, but did not receive a response until August 14, which was day three of our trip, saying that there wasn't a pool (or gym). This felt like a bait-and-switch situation. We specifically chose this property to teach our daughter to swim, so this misrepresentation caused significant inconvenience. Additionally, we experienced issues with the keyless entry system, resulting in us being locked out of the property with no prompt assistance from the management. Given the high rate we paid for our four-night stay, the lack of amenities, and the poor communication, I cannot recommend this property. The experience left us feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Quick Getaway

You can tell the owners of the home took great lengths in providing a fun, cool Experience from a hip hop , good music and high end decor stance. The home was absolutely lovely and great for a January stormy weekend. The only feedback would be for the property management to heighten their standards around cleanliness. There was quite a bit of dog hairs residual on the floors and kitchen countertops. We also had to rewash all the bedding and towels due to a mildew sour smell that took over the house when we walked in.

Beautiful home & great location!

This home is beautiful - very clean & cozy. Comfortable beds & quality linens. Well- equipped kitchen, just bring your own oils & spices if you want to cook. We enjoyed the turntable after picking up some vinyl in Lincoln City. The property owner has great taste in music too, with a number of albums to enjoy. Short walk to the beach & stunning views, especially at sunset. Also an easy walk to a quaint grocery store, friendly wine tasting room & awesome coffee shop, Stimulus. Highly recommend!

Darling Home

This is a darling home located walking distance to the beach. We had a great time on the beach and found the home to be very comfortable, cheerful and inviting. We loved the decor and layout of the home and we'll look forward to our next stay at Cape Kiwanda.

We love good design and a great kitchen. Luckily for our stay, we had both of those things! The design details were so fun. The space was perfect for our family. We cooked, relaxed, and went for many walks on the beach. Close to good beer (Pelican) and delicious food (we ate out one night at Meridian- the restaurant at Headlands). Everything was wonderful and easy. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautifully appointed

Please note: there were some hiccups with this property - at the time that I booked, and still at the time that I am writing this review, the title of this property reads "Cheerful Modern Beauty has Walkable Pool, Gym and Beach Access". Unfortunately, upon reaching out to the property manager, I found out that there is no pool or gym access associated with this property at all. That was one of the main reasons I made the booking, as we wanted access to a pool, so that was a disappointment. Whoever manages this property really needs to update the listing description. All that being said, we did end up staying here regardless, and everything else was as described. I stayed with my husband, our 3 year old son, my parents, and two dogs. It's a beautiful home, and very well appointed - it rained a lot while we were there, so we had dance parties with our son around the record player, and loved the amenities in the kitchen (very nice cookware, including tools for shucking oysters and crab leg crackers). My son and dogs loved walking around the paths in Shorepine Village, and there was easy access to the beach, with tide pools about a 10-15 minute walk away down the beach. Fair warning, going down the dune to the beach was definitely tricky for my parents, who had a hard time with it. The beach is stunning, though!

My New Happy Place!

We had such a lovely stay at this cozy, thoughtfully and creatively designed, well-appointed home. It had everything we needed and went well beyond the bare minimum that many rental homes offer. We especially enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen while playing albums on the stereo. The open floor plan downstairs was great and the beds upstairs were comfy. It's only a short walk from the front door to the ocean. If you don't feel like climbing down the little dune to the water, a left turn at the top of the ramp leads to an area where you can sit and take in one of the best views around! Highly recommend this property!

Great Stay

We had a great time at the property. Quick easy access to downtown. I do wish the access to the beach was easier from this area but that's not the property's problem. We'd love to know the artist of the dog art in the stairwell. Thanks for a great time!

Fun, comfortable stay

We really enjoyed our stay, along with our two little dogs. Everything was very clean and well kept, and we enjoyed the funky decor as well as the eclectic record collection. The kitchen had everything we needed, from pans and utensils to a few pantry staples and basic spices. Would love to stay again!

Super Cute & Close to the Beach!

Love the decor!! And so close to the beach. Kitchen well stocked with nice kitchenware. You can tell a lot of thought went in to making this house comfortable. Definitely want to stay here again.
