My stay at the Beehive Tiny House was exactly as advertised: comfortably close to nature. Everything about the property is peaceful and allows you to relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Karen and Aaron were great hosts who checked in regularly and made sure I had what I needed throughout my stay. Being on the quiet side of Acadia National Park also had its perks, from proximity to beautiful hikes with less crowds to still being a short drive from the park and great spots for sunrise and sunset! I can’t wait to plan another stay at Acadia Yurts!

This tiny home was very thoughtfully designed and was perfect for two people. We enjoyed the peaceful, secluded feel to the property, and it was easy to access all parts of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Check in/check out was a breeze and although we didn’t need anything, the hosts were available and had great communication. Would definitely stay here again!

Although it's a "Tiny Home" all of our necessities were met! Our home was spotless. The grounds were also well maintained. The Wellness Center has a beautiful yoga studio which we took advantage of. Karen and Aaron were great hosts and checked in to make sure our stay was great. A short drive from the National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Not much in the area, but removed enough to unplug and reset in the quiet of nature.

We loved our stay in the Beehive Tinyhouse! We had the perfect blend of being in nature, but also very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the tiny house was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking breakfast before leaving for our hikes. Acadia Yurts was about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and many of the hiking spots we went to. The hosts were so friendly and easy to get in contact with. With all this to say, we will definitely be coming back!!

We thought the location was great and the property was well kept and the beehive tiny house was very clean.The tiny house was definitely tiny! There was absolutely no place to open our suitcases or store them. Getting in and out of the bed is very difficult since there is a tiny space between the sides of the bed and the walls. You need to climb in from the bottom of the bed so if you have any back issues that is a problem. There is no place to to put your phone or eyeglasses next to the bed. The only sink is in the main room, there is no sink in the bathroom. We were quite surprised that there was no shampoo and just a tiny bar of soap. There was hand soap and dish soap available though.

Wonderful way to unplug from the bustle of life. Property is secluded yet close to everything. Would recommend to give it a shot, you’ll love it! Next visit we will be trying the Yurts!

Cozy and immaculate little property with all the things you can ask for in a Maine getaway. The setting was like a tranquil campground. The bedding was really nice loved the down pillows and the shower and kitchen facilities excellent.

Great Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Beehive Tiny House. It was perfect for the two of us. The kitchen seemed well stocked even though we didn’t make anything but coffee. It was cozy but just right for the two of us. The shower had great water pressure. Everything was clean. The property is very close to many Acadia sites on the Southwest side of Mount Desert Island. It’s about a 20-25 minute drive to the larger side of the park. The Southwest Harbor town is adorable and everyone is so kind. We would stay again in this area!

This place was awesome to stay in for a weekend away! The location and atmosphere was perfect. Very clean and plenty of available amenities. Out of the way of the busy areas of ANP and Bar Harbor but still very central to everything. Overall, this is a great place to stay and we would stay here again.

Amazing stay at the Beehive Tiny House

Me and my wife stayed at the Beehive Tiny House following our wedding for a quick getaway to Acadia. We had an amazing experience. The tiny house and community was so comfy, organized, and the community has many amenities for guests to use. Instructions were very clear and the staff was very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend to any couple looking to stay close to Acadia.

Cozy in acadia

Coziest place to stay that is outside the town of Bar Harbor! Lots of trails near bye and we hiked Acadia Mountatin which is 6 minutes away. We did other hikes such as ocean loop, sand beach, thunder hole, otter cliffs, Jordan Pond, south bubble rock! We also drove up to Cadillac mountain to witness the most gorgeous sunset.

5 star accommodation to go along with a 5 star national park! Very clean and modern but with a campground feel as well as relaxing amenities at the wellness center. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit.

A few days in Acadia

My husband and I spent a few nights at this tiny home in Acadia as part of our two week Maine vacation. I found the accommodations to be just as advertised. Everything was quite clean and the host was quick to respond to my text inquiries. The location is great, near several good restaurants, and easy access to the all the sights on the island. The house is compact, but everything you need is there. There is very little room on the sides of the bed so we had to climb into it from the bottom. This was fine for us but I wanted to mention it in case anyone has mobility issues.

Aaron is a Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite (pending availability).

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home; running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We truly hope you enjoy our property and your time here as much as we do.
