Loved this house - it was a perfect rental that met all of our needs while dealing with storm damage. Kim (owner) was so nice and helpful. Could not ask for more.

We were skiing at sugar so it was close but not in the middle of the holiday mess. Close to Boone and Banner Elk downtown.

Weekend away

We came up for the weekend with our two dogs to see our daughter, who of a student at Appalachian. The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The house was welcoming, comfortable, and adorable.

An Excellent Time

We came to the Owl House for my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and comfortable, but our favorite part was definitely the porch area and outside space. The owners communicated very well and the surrounding community is lovely.

Comfortable home with most everything you need for your stay and close to so many fun things to do. Easy to get to. It says parking for three cars but I'm not sure you can get three cars in front of the house but there may be parking elsewhere. We really enjoyed our stay. Owner very responsive if you need anything.

Cute place great location

We had a great stay at this cute little cabin for our recent ski trip to Sugar Mountain. It is in the perfect location just 15 min to the mountain and 15 min to Boone. House was very clean and had everything we needed - even a dog food and water bowl for our pup. Enjoyed having the small park area for the pup and kids to run. Loved the retro 70s decor of the cabin - so fun! Great and easy check in and out and prompt communication from the owner. Great place!

Quaint cozy cottage

This cottage is in an excellent location. 1960’s retro furnishings but up to date heating and bathrooms. Just lovely and quiet neighborhood. We will use again. 👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing Host and Property

The VRBO host, Kim, was exceptional! She was responsive, welcoming, and concerned. The property was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The decorations were an added bonus. Finally, the neighborhood was quaint, quiet, and clean. If you are looking for a great retreat by yourself, with a partner, or with your family, this property will exceed your expectations!

A wonderful 3 weeks in Banner Elk

My husband and I along with our dog spent 3 weeks in this lovely rental. The description was accurate, cabin was clean and we had most everything we needed. We especially enjoyed cooking out, sitting on the deck and enjoying the view and cool weather. The neighborhood was great and our dog met so many people on our walks. We spent time in Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock and other nearby scenic areas. We hated leaving and going back to the hot weather in Houston.

Conveniently Located

Tweetsie was number one on our list and it was about a 20 minute drive. I gave cleanliness a 4 .. the only reason was the front porch and back could have been swept. Lots of leaves that we kept tracking in and having to sweep up. The first evening it was late when we settled in and the next one we were just bombarded with those late afternoon showers. But that was the only reason. It took less than 10 minutes for me to sweep them off. Other than that everything was excellent. I loved the towels! Nice cozy place for us and our 4-year old grandson.

Mountain Getaway

Mill Ridge is a very pretty mountain community. The common grounds are nicely maintained with small ponds and river views. The house does not currently look as nice as photos online. We cleared fallen tree limbs along pathway to front door and the yard was a mess. Had to sweep and tidy up front and back decks. The interior was clean but not very inviting. The 5 cup coffee maker worked part of the time. The master bed was comfortable, didn’t use other bed so don’t know about that one. We still enjoyed our stay in Banner Elk and surrounding areas. (Didn’t have any communication with property management so gave 3 stars for that)

Hi Holly, we always appreciate honest and constructive feedback. After talking with the homeowner, we'd like to clarify the following points:- The home has yard maintenance every week or two depending on the season. They mow the lawn, clean the gutters, and pick up any yard debris.- The cleaning service always sweeps the porches and steps. That week, a large storm -came through the area between their cleaning and your check-in. - The owner will bring a different coffee maker to the home for guest use.Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!
