Cette belle maison 2BR / 3BA a un plan d'étage ouvert et une cuisine à service complet qui le rend parfait pour une escapade en couple ou des vacances amusantes en famille. La grande salle grande et confortable comprend la cuisine, la salle à manger et la taniÚre avec cheminée en pierre (gaz) et de nombreux siÚges. Il y a une belle vue sur la riviÚre depuis les grandes baies vitrées. Le pont enveloppant a des siÚges en plein air et surplombe la riviÚre Watauga avec ses cultures de rochers et sa faune abondante.
Deux suites parentales, chacune avec lits queen et leurs propres grandes salles de bains privées peuvent accueillir confortablement 4 adultes. Le salon a également un canapé-lit queen size.

This is the most beautiful house sitting next to the river multiple decks on the outside one on each master suite with a fireplace open floor plan great stock in the kitchen. Everything‘s always clean. Everything is always on point. You don’t need for anything except to come, bring your clothes and enjoy! Best hostess ever there for any questions which are only one or two, and if you go to relaxation recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this house when we came up to visit my son for ASU’s family weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The house is only about 15 minutes from campus, so it’s quite convenient. The house is large (but cozy), has comfortable furniture, and has the most amazing view/access to the Watauga River. It reminded me of a quaint bed and breakfast. The house was well-labeled to explain things such as how to lock the doors, how to work the heating and cooling, and all light switches are labeled. I thought this was a very helpful touch. All the instructions and descriptions on the listing were accurate. 2 things to be aware of: a few starter items are provided (dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent pods, hand soap in bathrooms), but no bathroom toiletries (shampoo, soap/body wash) are provided. Not a big deal, just something to know when you are packing. The other thing to know is that trash has to be carried out to the can outside that has to be locked up. When we went to throw trash out, the can was completely full, so we had to just bring our trash with us and dispose of it on our own. It was slightly inconvenient but not a huge deal. We really loved our stay at this house and highly recommend staying here!

Riverfront dream!

Such a great experience for a small family. We have a 5 year old son and having a separate room directly down the hall with his own bathroom was perfect! The view of the river from almost every room in the house was magical. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. I don’t have one bad thing to say about the house only positives!

Lovely Mountain Home

House was great and had all the amenities you need for a short stay. Location is great- close to downtown Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, Hawksnest and Mast General Store. River out back was lovely to watch and even with snow on the ground it was easy to walk down to the edge of it. Communication with host was prompt and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Family Christmas

We loved the stay. Very relaxing. We will return for another family trip. The sound of the water was amazing. The only negative was not being able to get the gas fireplace to work. We highly recommend the property regardless.

Excellent with a few little kinks

The property is really lovely. I will bear in mind that we were the first guests the owners had after Hurricane Helene so I am assuming that most of the little things were not noted prior to our arrival due to the break in action and just dealing with the larger issues of storm damage etc. The upstairs/bedroom TVs did not function and the alarm on the door had some setting issues that were a bit annoying, the dishwasher was not unloaded before we got there. But these are minor housekeeping issues that I am certain are normally tended to. Generally, the place is lovely, the views from the very large deck and super comfortable Adirondack styled dining and seating areas were truly beautiful with the River rapids right at our feet. Location was super convenient and overall just a a very pleasant stay. We had tix to the App game and had a day of hiking planned but truly, as enjoyable as both those things were, it was hard to leave that deck and that view for the day after Breakfast! The living area and entertainment space is HUGE for only a two bedroom house. Great value, beautiful home!

Beautiful home by the river

The property was a lovely get-a-way by the Watauga River. The driveway was a little tricky, but the rest of the home was perfect. Clean and beautifully decorated. Info on all equipment was easily understood. We hope to stay there again.

Beautiful escape at Riverplace

This was our third time back at Riverplace and we will continue to return because it’s the perfect spot for us. Accommodations are ideal for a family looking to enjoy the outdoors in the backyard as well as traveling to neighboring towns. Valle Crucis has so much to offer, but Riverplace is just 15 minutes to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Thank you Tamara for being a great host!

My name is Tamara DePace and I manage RiverPlace for my mother, Doris Freeze. This beautiful piece of land on the banks of the Watauga River in Valle Crucis was originally owned by my grandparents. My mother vacationed here when she was a little girl. I remember hearing stories of her and her 6 brother and sisters playing on the rocks in the river. Throughout my childhood, I recall my parents dreaming and planning the house they would one day build on the land. Twenty-five years later they built their "dream home" on the river. RiverPlace was intended to be their retirement home, much deserved after a lifetime of service to the church. My parents had spent their life serving on the mission field in Liberia, West Africa, and when stateside, my dad worked for the Lutheran Church as the director of a church camp and at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia SC.

In 2009, after a short battle with cancer, my dad passed away, only getting to enjoy their "dream home" for a short time. Mom, not able to live on her own 4 hours away from the rest of the family, decided to allow other families to enjoy her home and hopefully make their own memories on the banks of the Watauga River.

I guess I took after my grandmother, as I now have seven children of my own. I hope one day they will look back at their childhood and reminisce about their vacations at the "mountain house". It is our hope that you and your family will also.
