This property was great for the 8 days we were there. The house was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy just very functional for a beach house. We did struggle finding the beach access. Took us a couple of mins to figure that out but then a quick walk to the beach. It was our first time visiting the area. Weather and water were great. Surf City is pretty low key and laid back community.

We had a great weekend with our friends and dogs. The fenced yard was well maintained and perfect for the dogs to run and play. Spent time at the tiki bar across the street and met lots of great locals. Easy beach access too. Nice quiet neighborhood.

We had a great experience. The house was clean, the perfect amount of space for our group, communication was prompt. The house had everything we needed. Easy beach access. Buggy rental & food truck across the street was super convenient as well.

Perfect beach house weekender!

Clean house with everything you need. Thoughtful little welcome package with stuff we ended up needing. It’s a quick 3 min walk to the beach. We stayed with 2 other couples and the rooms were well insulated from noise. AC was jammin. Overall we greatly enjoyed the stay!

25th Anniversary

Really enjoyed this home. Our 4th year in a row to Surfside and definitely will try for the same house next year! It would bea great bonus to have the doggie yard mowed and mosquito spray in the area to help the dogs from getting bitten so badly. Other than that, we loved every second of our stay!

We appreciate the feedback on the lawn. It does get mowed regularly but the heavy rains make it hard to shoot the gaps (and not tear up the lawn) and also aid in the mosquito population. We would love to have back under drier conditions. Thanks again!

We stayed at 7 Palms the month of February and had a wonderful stay. Surfside Beach is a quiet beach town with a lot of charm and tasty places to eat! It is quiet but close to things to do and only about 45 minutes to Galveston for those wanting more action. Our house was ready on time and very clean. We had a few minor issues but they were resolved very quickly and efficiently. The office staff was extremely friendly and returned our texts promptly. Lillian who tended to our requested repairs was very pleasant and quick to solve our issues. We enjoyed the location of the house....on the quiet side of town with its own walkover to the beach. We also had a very nice gift basket of useful items and even a package for our dog, Beau! Nice TV system with lots of choices to watch. There is a reverse-osmoses water system, so the water is safe to drink. The wi-fi is quick and never failed. Great time!!

Great location

Great location! Nice house but a few things need some attention . Specifically, there is no door on outdoor shower, bathroom exhaust fan did not work, no outdoor lighting would work except for the motion light . The house has a nice outdoor area to hang out and grill. The fenced area for dogs was nice to have. A very short walk to beach and convenience store nearby.

Work on some things

The outside lights did not work which was a big disappointment-lights strung out and looks great in the pics but they didn’t work. The AC struggles when the range in the kitchen is on. Pretty sure the refrig is off temp even though it was on the coldest setting. Couldn’t figure out how to use the tv, not a huge deal since we were trying to get away from it. Towels were excellent. Sofas need to be cleaned. Easy walk to the beach.

Thank you for allowing us to host you Becky for the very warm Memorial Day holiday and extended weekend. We're glad you appreciated the easy beach access location and our fluffy towels. We aren't aware of any issue with the string lights, but we will certainly check them out. As for the AC and refrigerator, given our island seasonal high humidity and temps, it can be difficult for both of them to keep up when the doors are being opened frequently by groups at any home. Couple that with running the oven, it makes it even harder on the system. That said, we do have 24/7 monitoring of the AC and did not see any mismatch of temp setting and actual temp. Regarding the TV, not sure which one you were trying to use as there are 2, but there are instructions in our Guest Guide. Maybe you missed that? Thanks again for staying with us!

Poor Service/ SEVERAL House Issues

We will never stay at this house ever again. We will also never be booking with 979 rentals moving forward. Little to no communication. Empty promises, and SO many issues with this house that were not addressed. This house needs to some serious TLC before anyone else stays here. Oven does not work so most of our food went to waste. The team did not fix this during our week long stay. The toilet handle in the first bedroom was broken. Wifi was so slow that we had to purchase a hotspot to work for the week. The patio lights upstairs and downstairs did not work.. We had to climb on a ladder to get to the cord to plug them in. Maintenance did fix the upstairs string lights however. There was sitting brown/blackish water under the kitchen sink. The TV in the main room has lines going straight through the picture as if the TV was going out any minute. And we got our “check-out instructions “ sent to us via email 5 hours before we needed to be checked out. Had I not checked my email that morning we wouldve had no clue what rules we were to follow. And on top of this we were told that maintenance/finance would be getting with us on Monday for a solution and we were left hanging with no response/text/call/ or email. This house needs to be removed from the VRBO site until it can comfortably accommodate stays longer than 2 days.

Sadly, this is an example of no good deed goes unpunished. You were a very difficult, dishonest, and disrespectful guest prior to your stay, and we had considered just canceling your stay. However, we decided that wasn't the right thing to do. In retrospect, it would have been a better choice. We both know your review is completely fabricated and merely another attempt a getting a free stay on someone else's nickel. Very sad, immature and disappointing for our staff and the nice and caring owners of this lovely home they made available to you and your dogs.
