Welcome home to Wandering Woods. This beautifully constructed Cascadian style home is a much-loved family vacation destination nestled under the tall trees along the historic Barlow Trail and Henry Creek. This amazing location is only a short walk to a corner store or artisan coffee and pizza.

With large wrap around decks and beautiful wood work this home will become your annual vacation destination. The five large bedrooms and three full bathrooms, ensures your group has enough space to enjoy. This is no cabin in the woods, but a luxury home with hand crafted details and large exposed beams.

Wandering Woods is a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city in style. There is even a pole barn that serves as a detached game room where you can play ping-pong, darts, badminton and even throw a few hoops!

This home is the perfect destination for your family’s next vacation on Mt Hood. Wandering Woods is centrally located within minutes of the popular attractions of Mt Hood . Get out and hike all levels of trail within a short distance from the home. There is access to a few of Mt Hood’s favorite hikes from the doorstep such as Castle Canyon and Forest Service Road 19.

Sit back and relax by the beautiful fireplace with some popcorn and hot chocolate and take in the serene quiet home nestled in the foothills of Mt Hood.

The home was in a beautiful quiet setting. There was plenty of room inside and out. The home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We will keep this on our return to list.

Used this house as our home base for exploring government camp to sandy. Easy to get to, amazing home. Loved the easy access to everything we wanted to do. We would definitely reccomend this house to our friends and plan on coming back

We all enjoyed our large bedrooms. The 3 bathrooms were appreciated. Nice large kitchen with a good size refrigerator/freezer. Lighting around the dining room needs to be increased. Some recessed lights weren't working. And the sugar ants in the kitchen need to be treated. But comfortable beds. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Beautiful home. Great location. Very welcoming! We were disappointed with cleanliness. Surface looked ok, but deep cleaning needs to be done.

Wandering Woods was wonderful

I’m sure we will book again next year. It worked out wonderful for our family reunion in Rhododendron. It was nice, comfortable, & clean. Great open space for conversation. Thanks.

Great time

It was a great time, if i had to make one complaint, which isn’t even a real complaint. The internet/wifi had a hard time and was almost unusable. Everything else was amazing and we will be staying again

Needs some attention

Management company is a call center off site and are not good at communicating when there's a problem. We had to call 4 times during our stay. 3 out of the 4 calls never called us back with an update. The 4th apparently did call, but called our home.Power went out while there, the emergency generator didn't work, the gas fireplace was not able to be lit in an emergency situation. Also, there were no back up candles, radio or flashlight. After 6 hours Generac came out and fixed the generator, and the power came back on. Maintenance did tell us however, that if it failed, it wouldn't come back on because they had to hotwire it. Several outlets in the home did not work out of the 10 pans in the kitchen, non were safe to cook in, None were safe to cook in as the non stick was terribly scratched. The DVR in the kitchen doesn't work, and there is no cable here, just movies. The wifi was disconnected from the wall when we arrived. There is no telephone service at the house, so when we had issues we had to leave to call Meredith management. The one saving grace was the Maintenance crew. They were great and kept us updated on things. There isn't a hairdryer in the entire house, that's standard on a rental. A few lights didn't work or partially worked. Maintenance said that the owners have been told about problems, but they aren't willing to make repairs. The house info book is generic and not specific to the house, so when the fireplace went out, was no help at all.
