The pool is very nice! Also the luggage lift is a nice feature. We originally booked because it said it was a short walk to the beach. Unfortunately there is not an actual safe path to walk there (especially if you have kids). It is a very quick drive though. We did encounter some cockroaches, and the floors could use some TLC. We did contact them about all this, and they were responsive though! Overall with some upkeep it is a nice area with potential.

This house is great!

Situated minutes by car to the beach, it is in a quiet, small, friendly neighborhood.The pool and house are clean and lovely. It’s stocked well with linens and kitchen equipment. An extraordinary feature of this property is its cargo lift. It’s about 4ft X 4ft, just right for coolers and luggage. It saves many trips up and down the stairs.When we needed assistance, the response time was within minutes. Even the owner called to make sure we had our questions answered.This is our third year to rent the property, because it meets our needs so well. It’s perfect for beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon. There is some partial, but welcome, shade in the pool area by mid-afternoon.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The property was clean and neat. I asked for extra accommodations and the hosts were very responsive and willing to work with us. The location was excellent for going into town and visiting the beaches. We had a great time. The pool was a bit cold, but they didn’t advertise it as a heated pool so it’s a non issue.

When we got there the keypad would not unlock, we called and they gave us the location of the lock box. She said they would be out the next day to replace the batteries but that never happened. We also had to keep swapping the batteries for the tv remotes to use in each room. The pool was clean and nice. The downstairs bedroom was exciting because I wanted to put our teenagers in there, which we did. The problem was when we arrived it stank so bad of smoke, not cigarette. The floors are a tripping hazard upstairs because the slats have separated leaving gaps in the floor. Not a whole lot of pans or trays in the kitchen to use, so we had to buy some stuff which is annoying. The trash when we got there was completely full and stank so bad, thankfully the next day someone came and took it to the curb for pickup. Overall we had a good time but probably would never stay at this property again.

We're glad your teenagers loved the downstairs bedroom and that you enjoyed the clean, nice pool! However, we're sorry that several aspects of the property did not live up to your expectations. We took immediate action to resolve the lock issue and have implemented a stricter protocol with our team to ensure the trash is fully cleared and fresh batteries are installed in all remotes prior to arrival. We've also audited our kitchen inventory to ensure a plentiful supply of pots and pans, and our maintenance team has inspected the upper floors to address any uneven floorboards. While our pre-arrival inspection showed no trace of odors, we've thoroughly aired out and refreshed the lower level to ensure it is pristine for future stays. Thank you for your valuable feedback, as it allows us to continuously improve the guest experience.

The location is good, it's close to other beaches. Our issue was with the main attractant for the house, which was the pool. The motor stopped working. We informed the property manager and owner that we had 3 little girls looking forward to the pool. When we got there, the pool motor wasn't working. The owner had prior knowledge of the issue, yet chose not to inform us. We left. Pool people said it wouldn't be fixed the same day, and earliest to safely swim would be midday the following day.
I'm not sure if this is a queen sized bed. You may want to verify.

Great the second time around

This is the second summer for us to rent this property. It is great for our needs. In very nice condition and very well appointed and stocked with all your short-term needs. The pool in the afternoon, after a morning at the beach, is a great combination. The lift for moving your stuff up and down is a must! Great support from the local representative and owner.

Cozy Weekend Getaway

This property was just what I was looking for. Far enough away from the seawall to get away from crowds but still within reach to make the day trips in. House was the perfect size for my family (4 adults, 1 toddler) and the pool was used quite often. House was clean upon arrival, everything was easily accessible, and the property manager was very responsive for one bit of info that wasn't made available up front. Cargo lift was a nice bonus considering the heat and ages of some of the guests. Would definitely book this property again in the same situation.

Quick weekend get away

Overall nice property, spacious enough for us, comfortable. Good location for what we were looking for. I understand this( prob only have weekly pick up ) but outside trash was overflowing and smelled so, so bad. Made being outside unpleasant. I would have someone get it more than once a week. The pool was nice to have but was full of sand( I get that too, even though there is an outdoor shower) and kind of dirty. Looked like at some point there had been an auto pool cleaner but it was out of the pool and didn’t look like it had worked in awhile. My husband netted the best he could. Also grill was super filthy and brush to clean was awful. We never figured out the lift either ( although I saw the email we were supposed to print, sign and send back a waiver…too late once we got there) Overall it was a nice place, very quiet area and not a far drive to beach. Would stay here again.

And yes, we had a Polaris pool sweep that was broken by the guest before you. I’m so sorry you didn’t get to use the lift—it’s a must! The insurance company does require the waiver. There’s no excuse for the grill; it should have been cleaned before you arrived. We invite you back with the promise to make your experience 100% positive. Again, thank you for your comments."

Overall good place to stay

The house was great for the most part and was nicely kept. Downsides were that the beds weren’t super comfy, but that’s not unusual for rentals and the downstairs with king size doesn’t have a bathroom. Only negative we had was not getting the door code locks to work the first time. We had to work at it to get them unlocked and then when we left they wouldn’t lock for us. 🤷‍♀️Mosquitoes are terrible so take some bug spray for sure. (That’s just Galveston and due to all the rain lately too-no fault of the home/owners)Also the house was further from the beach than I had thought but that was my own fault for not looking closely at a map before booking. It was still close, but couldn’t walk to it had to drive a very short distance.

Great Galveston Getaway

Last week we experienced a wonderful stay at Galveston Getaway. The location, though not on the beach, is in a quiet neighborhood literally 3 minutes away by car.The home is nicely furnished and clean. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots, pans and utensils. There are beach towels for the guests to use. For us, its most unique and advantageous features are a wonderful pool and a lift for transporting coolers, boxes and luggage to the upper level. The pool is very clean and has a shaded portion in summer afternoons. Since it has entry steps and shallow areas, it was perfect for us and our three young grandkids, when they visited. Everyone loved it. No review of this property would be complete without a thank-you to the Evolve property manager, Crystal, for her outstanding service and support. She was accommodating to our questions and unique needs with exceptionally quick callbacks and responsiveness. The actual property owner gave us a follow-up call once we were back home and thanked us for staying. It was nice to have direct contact with the owner.Galveston Getaway is most definitely a place to stay again!

Fell short of listing/Roach Motel

This place needs a complete and detail cleaning, starting with the walls and baseboards. It needs to be exterminated for roaches. I was so afraid that they would get into our luggage, and thank God they didn’t. We checked everything before we left. The microwave that is above the stove did not work. They were called and she said someone would bring one out and put it up. He brought it out and left. Each time we left we had to fool with the lock that wouldn’t work, and had to go down stairs to a lock box to get the key each time. The banister on the balcony was loss and about to fall. There was a pool that had a cleaner in the bottom, so we called to see if we needed to take it out before getting in it. They never called us back. The pool funiture pads were ripped to shreds and not able to sit in. The third bedroom was so deceiving. It was the pool room and had no bathroom, so if you needed to go to the bathroom you would have to go outside and go up the stairs, and fool with the lock to use the bathroom. I do not recommend this place.

Pictures are not accurate. It smelled like wet dog when you entered. The floors were badly damaged and repairs to floors were terrible. They tried patching with caulk. Toilet paper holders were broken off the wall. There were holes in the wall and pool was dirty. Had to clean it before I felt i could get in it. Updating was needed throighput. It's just a reminder you get what you pay for. I've never been this disappointed in a rental before.
