This was convenient for our family to travel around north central Arkansas. Easy to use. The place was a bit hidden behind a rock quarry, but once we found it, everything was fine.

Once we got to the place, got in & adjusted to it, it was fine. It was clean, had refrigerator, all the kitchen tools, stove, microwave, etc,. The beds were very comfortable, as were the bedrooms. The showers were good. I didn't have the initial email from the owners which was my fault so we had difficulty getting in at first but they were very pleasant even at 11:30 at night! I wouldn't say the screened in porch & deck were great but we were not there long enough to explore much more. Overall, the owners were responsive & the stay was adequate.

Quiet remote location for a peaceful stay

Property is a nice distance from National Forest, floating, the cave tour and hiking experiences. Extremely clean, and very kind and friendly owner The outdoor stone picnic table and screened in porch were our favorite part of the property!

Our Stay (:

Our stay was great! We had my Parents, My Husband, and our two kids that stayed the week! We loved seeing all the rocks that had been made, and the field of the farm land! Some of the views were absolutely breath taking! If we come back to stay in the lower buffalo again I will be looking this place up. Also, some of the workers on the land were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed everything and thank them so much for a great stay! The Davidson and Banks Family

Perfect spot for eclipse viewing

Thanks to Fred & Liz for an awesome stay at the Rock House. It was the perfect, remote spot to view the solar eclipse. The Ozarks are stunning. Check-in process was smooth & easy with the directions provided. We had a little issue with the digital lock later in the evening, but Fred came right away and was very accommodating. Thanks so much!

Cons-The main selling point for me was the deck/screened in porch due to severe allergies. There was no door, the steps are beginning to rot, the handrail was not stable, and there was a hole in the wall of the porch. Wasps had overtaken the porch. It was unusable. Had I known this info going in, I would not have chosen this rental. We had problems with keypad, but owner was VERY responsive and had quick solution for us to gain access. The house was clean except for ladybugs and mice. There was clear evidence of mice presence (scratching noises, empty mice poison container, torn insulation in a closet where they were scratching around), though I did not find any droppings. Price was not resemblant to value of what I got. We were in the area due to a funeral. If not for that, we would not have stayed. Also, for a 3 bedroom house, seating in family room was limited to a 3 person couch and a recliner. We were 4 adults and could not gather in family room comfortably together. Pros- location, access to owner, size and condition of inside of house, wifi worked perfectly.

Just ok

To start off the place is way out of town. GPS got us lost first time around. Then we finally found the house. It’s around some sort of rock company where there is traffic at all times not to mention it’s about a mile down gravel. The house to the left when you turn in the drive looks very sketchy and very very run down. The house is out dated and there is junk all around it. I’m partly to blame because I waited til the last minute to book and that was all that available. My code to get in worked the first time then never worked again. Thank goodness there was a hidden key and I was able to get ahold of property manager. The price was cheap but you know what they say. You get what you pay for. I would not stay in this property again and would not recommend it. I hate to be this way but honest is the best policy and next year I will book earlier to find a much better place.

Hi Nikki, thanks for your honest feedback. Just to clarify, guests stay in our updated farmhouse—not the smaller house near the end of the driveway, which is now used as an office for a family business. We know it could use a little tidying up and are planning to address that. Our place is definitely in a quiet, rural spot, which isn’t for everyone, but we do our best to offer a clean and comfortable stay in a home that holds a lot of meaning for us.
