Welcome to our four-bedroom home just outside the historic town of Romsey, nestled in picturesque Macedon Ranges countryside. Once the site of Cope Williams Winery, one of the region`s original flagship wineries, Glenfern House has everything you need for your next getaway. This impressive rural home offers a perfect blend of country charm and modern comfort.

Key Features:

- Four Bedrooms, each with its own private ensuite (1 king bed and 3 queen beds). The base rate is for 4 guests which includes 2 bedrooms. To add a third bedroom you need to select 6 guests for the correct rate, and to add a forth bedroom select 8 guests.
- Accessible room: one of the bedrooms has wheelchair access, with handrails in the bathroom, and no steps to contend with.
- Cricket oval onsite just at the front of the house, with sporting equipment supplied.

Featuring an award-winning landscape garden design called “Tramlines” by Dylan Alcott (tennis superstar, and 2022 Australian of the Year) and Vivid Designs. As presented at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, this stunning accessible garden was auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the Dylan Alcott Foundation, and now we are proud to show it off to our guests.

The location is outstanding, close to the regions best attractions and towns, including Romsey, Lancefield, Mount Macedon, Newham, and Woodend. It is in prime wine country, situated near fabulous wineries such as Midhill Vineyard, Mount Macedon Winery, Hesket Estate, Mount Monument Winery, Hanging Rock Winery, and Parkside Winery. For cider and beer check out Lost Watering Hole in Lancefield, Holgate Brewhouse in Woodend, or DV Cider in Darraweit Guim. For distilleries visit Big Tree Gin, Mountain Distilling, or Gindu. It’s the perfect base for a weekend of fine wine and food.

This is a great home for a gathering of friends, a family retreat, or if you are attending a wedding or event nearby. Glenfern House is a short drive to function venues including Cleveland Winery, Glen Erin, Lancemore Hill, Mount Monument, Cadella Park, Hedge Farm, Mount Macedon Winery, Cammeray Waters, and Alora Macedon.

Surrounded by some of the Macedon Ranges best fresh produce, providores, farm gates, and markets to stock up at. Why cook though, when some of the regions best eateries are nearby, including The 1860 Romsey pub, Soltan Pepper, Lost Watering Hole Brewery, Lancefield Hotel, Spices and Pestle, Mount Monument Winery, Mount Macedon Winery, Mount Towrong Vineyard, and Kuzu Izakaya.

Attractions or activities nearby include Hanging Rock, Mount Macedon Memorial Cross, Sanatorium Lake, Romsey Ecotherapy Park, Trentham Falls, hiking trails such as Macedon Regional Park, great cycling routes and mountain biking tracks, several Golf Clubs, day-spas, yoga, local markets, art galleries, antiques, historic buildings, renowned gardens, mineral springs, and so much more.

This site was originally one of the Macedon Ranges premier wineries, Cope Williams, renowned for its Royal Tennis court and conference centre (note those buildings are not currently accessible as they will be undergoing restoration work over the coming months/years).

The base rate is for 4 guests which includes 2 bedrooms. To add a third bedroom you need to select 6 guests for the correct rate, and to add a forth bedroom select 8 guests. Maximum 8 guests total.

Pet friendly so you can bring your fur baby! Small house-trained dogs only, pets by prior arrangement, $25 flat fee. The property is not fenced and will not suit all dogs. No heavy shedding breeds.

No parties, schoolies groups, 18th, 21st, hens, bucks, or other all-male groups.

50% initial payment due upon booking and 50% balance payment charged 14 days prior to arrival.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Leave the property clean on departure, close to the way you found it as is standard with most holiday rentals (dishes, benches, rubbish, etc).
Please respect neighbours - no parties, no music outside, no additional sound equipment (DJ, PA etc), no noise after 10pm.
Complaint calls from neighbours incurs fees and may result in eviction. After hours call outs due to avoidable incidents caused by guests incur fees.
Pets by prior request only ($25 pet fee). Guests responsible for any damage or clean-up, see Pet Policy in House Rules. Small house-trained pets only.

We had a great break while staying at Glenfern House. The surrounding garden was well kept and extremely relaxing, and the accomodation was comfortable and very clean. Great facilities and this all made for a wonderful trip away. Highly recommend for any people wanting a short relaxing break that is within 1-2 hours from Melbourne.

We loved our stay. There were 8 of us and the space was just perfect. From every window the views were glorious. The garden is spectacular. We had one evening enjoying the firepit. Everything you could want was provided. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.

With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the home provided excellent accommodation for our group. The living room had lots of comfy couches and chairs where we could sit and enjoy the views through the picture windows and a large dining table. The state of the art kitchen with its large island bench had everything we needed and more. Wish our stay was longer!

Girls weekend

We had a great stay at Glenfern house. The spacious house is in lovely, quiet area. Everything we needed was in the house . The beds were comfy. Communication with the property manager was really good, and check in/out very easy.

Stunning house

My sisters and I spent two nights at Glenfern House and it is a simply stunning, luxurious residence. It is magnificently styled, very comfortable, has every convenience and is surrounded by amazing outlooks from every window. We would definitely recommend Glenfern House to others considering it. My only critique is not of the house itself, which lived up to every expectation, but that the advertised price of the stay is somewhat deceptive. It is advertised as 4 bedrooms - sleeps 8, but AFTER I booked for 4 people I was advised that the price only covers 2 bedrooms and there was a fairly substantial additional cost if we wanted access to 4 bedrooms. It was still worth the extra cost, with each lovely bedroom having its own bathroom, but I feel this additional charge should be in the advertising and not in the ‘fine print’. Otherwise it was the perfect setting for our weekend. Thank you.

However there is nothing deceptive about our rates, as the second paragraph of our listing description clearly states: "The base rate is for 4 guests which includes 2 bedrooms. To add a third bedroom you need to select 6 guests for the correct rate, and to add a forth bedroom select 8 guests." You unfortunately must not have read this. It is very common for properties that provide hotel style bedrooms with private ensuites to have an extra charge for additional bedrooms. Otherwise the other way of listing the rates would be everyone pays the highest rate for 4 rooms, even if they only require 2 rooms, and that would not be fair at all. Thanks again for staying and for your feedback.
