We loved our stay. We do wish we could have had a change of sheets and towels or access to washer and dryer after 4 days. But the cabin was clean and cute with plenty of kitchen supplies.

Good spot for a weekend getaway

House was nice and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend on the mountain. Bonus that is is just a short walk from the castle rock trailhead and boulder bay park.

Cool Cabins in Big Bear was the host and they were super easy to deal with. Unfortunately the property did not meet our expectations. The property owner has made some very nice improvements but there are some serious issues that need to be communicated in the listing until they are addressed by the owner.The gravel covered parking is adquate for one vehicle. From the parking to the front porch the path is paved with bricks which are loose and an extreme trip hazard. The front porch is also paved with brick but it appears there has been some settling and again the area is an extreme trip hazard. The kitchen has been updated with very nice appliances. However, there must be holes in the wall as each morning we found rodent feces on the countertops in spite of all food securely stored away.The spa was recently replaced and was clean and worked well. However, the deck surrounding the spa lacks a safety rail and drops off 3 to 4 feet. Additionally, the area around the spa is full of garbage, leftover wire from spa installation and miscellaneous debris. The bathroom seems untouched from the original build 50 years ago. We found human feces on the vanity cupbords next to the toilet and immediately sanitzied the bathroom upon check in and reported it to the host.The deck is spacious and fenced for pets but the water spigots do not allow a hose to be installed to rinse the deck after pets urinate.In summary, this is not a property I would rent again.

Cozy and Peaceful

Very quiet and serene. Big Bear has always been our "go to" place to visit for vacations, celebrations and just enjoy the peacefulness the mountains provide. We celebrated our 42nd Anniversary in our favorite place and it was perfect!

Big cabin

Really had a great time . Will & would recommend.cool cabins to anyone who would like to stay or go up to big bear for a day or weekend or week . It easy to do & you have all the comforts of home . You have everything you need at the cabin for you . I will be using them again next time we go back to big bear

The cabin was cozy, very clean and easy to find. The jacuzzi beside the parking area was not inviting and there was no way to even get into it. The pics on line show the jacuzzi on the back deck which apparently wasn't working. We did not feel comfortable using the jacuzzi at the bottom of the front steps in the parking area. When we booked we were told someone would help us with starting a fire and putting on chains if we needed the help. Upon arrival we were told that was not true. However, the neighbors were so kind and helpful! The neighbor up the hill came down and helped us start a fire as well as teach me for the next time. The neighbors across the street checked on us the next day. We are very grateful for them. Luckily we did not need chains. The bed and sofa are not very comfortable but both were inviting. The cabin has a great view and is like a cozy little retreat. We definitely recommend and would book again because the positive outweighs the negatives!

Pros: the cabin is in a great location. Just a short drive to the village and right around the corner from boulder bay! It was far enough out that you felt like you were really out in nature. The cabin itself is cozy and we found the kitchen to be stocked with plenty of utensils which is always nice in a rental. The house stayed cool despite no AC (at least that we could find). The back deck got lots of sun and was nice to relax in. The couch and bed were comfortable. The outdoor grill was great too. Communication was also excellentCons: the house needs to be cleaned better. The walls in the bedroom had a lot of cobwebs in the corners and the light switchs were filthy. Whoever cleaned the place seemed to not be doing a thorough job. The back deck was littered with debri which is understandable given it’s in the woods, but it wouldn’t hurt to sweep it up in between guests. There were also random things strewn about like old bowls, string lights, a non functioning bbq, Christmas decor, etc. the deck furniture is in poor shape and was haphazardly placed around the deck. The hot tub was luke warm and the water was an off color so we didn’t feel comfortable using it at all. Also the cushions in the hot tub were either missing or disintegrating. The other major issue was ants. Every morning there were tons of ants crawling around the kitchen and they managed to get into our food before we knew there was a problem. They were on counters, in the sink, and all in the garbage can. :(

Mountain cottage

Property staff is attentive and very helpful. Location is perfect. Inside is as pictured however I find it odd that you would rent out of space where your kitchen countertops stain with anything that spills or leaks on top of it so everything has to be done on cutting boards, including what you put in the sink that was very stressful for us. They also have ant problem in kitchen. Somebody left the heater on so when we got there, it was extremely hot inside not to mention extremely hot outside. The majority of the windows won't open. we couldn't find the fan and the outside was really dirty cobwebs everywhere. Nothing was swept or wiped down. Also, if you paid a rent place, why do we need to take out trash? We we're not camping but renting a home. I found that also odd not to mention the fact that you don't have Wi-Fi when you show up so you can't log in to the app to get the code for entry, I would've filled out all the information before we left instead of having to drive down somewhere we could get Internet so that we could get into the home.
