The Space:
In a row of Georgian cottages in sleepy Milverton, this arty, tactile, expressive space is filled with interesting furniture and artworkIt's a pretty cottage, swathed in wisteria in spring. Walk in to beautiful Italian tiles, wooden floors, whitewashed walls, pretty sash windows through which you can see the garden and countryside, a lovely old open fireplace in the sitting room and lots of books and games for rainy days. The kitchen is big and a good place for everyone to gather for chopping and stirring then eating at the long wooden table. Two big doors open out into the garden terrace for sprawling in the sunshine, or escaping with a book. Bedrooms are delightful with faded fabrics, lovely paintings, window seats for gazing, ornate fireplaces and rugs on wooden floors; furniture is a clever mix of antique and mid-century. The master has its own loo and bath tub and the rest share the family bathroom. Half an acre of walled garden has a firepit, barbecue, an orchard then a lovely meadow-like space with tables and chairs, and a vintage caravan which children will love to hide away in during the summer. Just down the road is a pub, The Globe.
